  • What about GERD caused by hernias? I'm 19 years old, 5'6, 135 lbs (not overweight at all), so if I do have low acidity, it's not because I'm some old fart. I do heavy lifting at work once in a while and I used to workout (I probably did lift with improper form) which may have caused a hernia? But I already wasted a lot of money seeing a doctor for blood counts, allergy tests, etc which all came back negative. I'm afraid that if I went to see if I had a hernia they would miss it.

  • My doctor has had me on Nexium for a month and I honestly feel worse than when I began ! I need help, I can't be one of those ppl on PPI's for ages, I have a compromised immune system on top of it all so these PPI's can't be helping.

It's been 4 weeks, if I go off before getting a stomach acid test and try HCL with digestives am I risking anything ? Thanks so much for any advice

  • This was very informative, been suffering from this for a few years, probably too much alcohol has aggravated it over the years, but will try apple cider vinegar for a few months. A prescription of Rinitidine helped vastly.
