I've used the sentry gun abit, but in my experience it really only gets 2 or 3 kills. This i think is mainly because, say, a noob gets killed by my sentry, and they get a little mad. Suddenly, the overall mission of the game doesnt matter, their new objective is to destroy that which killed me. And, they keep charging it until they can take it down, which is usually after about 2 or 3 kills :)
