I was part of this event, and it was amazing! A real glimpse of the church as it is meant to be...full of God's grace and unity in the Spirit of Christ. The dividing walls are being torn down, and the Holy Spirit is doing a new thing with the ancient story. It may be threatening to the fearful and the dogmatic, but it gives me and many of my friends hope that there's room for us, for our minds and for our hearts, in the church.
Have you seen Richard Rohr's 'Life Saving Station parable'? (On You Tube). I sense it would be of use regarding denomination, or the relevance of so called 'spiritual lineage'.

The thing I don't get about this is simply one thing.
I wouldn't at all consider Brian McLaren a historical evangelical. Sad really...
