  • Chew on it Reverend.....

  • Why oh why is the singing and growling necessary?!? It's a serious deterrent. I call that filler. That's what pastor's do to kill time when they have nothing relevant to say. *yawn*

  • Sounds like he learned to preach from James Brown.

  • MY PASTOR J.D. UPSHAW, HE PREACH JUST LIKE HIM...... WOW!!!

  • WE AS PEOPLE NEED TO LEARN TO KEEP OUR MOUTH OFF THE MAN OF GOD. DONT WORRY ABOUT THAT MESS FRANK KEEP PREACHING THE WORD OF GOD. ONE THING ABOUT IT YOU ARE STILL DR. FRANK E. RAY HOLD YOUR HEAD UP I LOVE YOU BRO.......

  • All denominations came out the baptist church and if u take it back further we all came out of the roman catholic church too but i miss ge patterson when i become a pastor i wanna be baptist but be able to preach to all denominations

  • uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh one day

  • House Dumped!!! And from what I heard Bishop G. E. Patterson did the same thing when he came to New Salem! But house officially busted!

  • Thank God that here is a preacher still preaching the gospel. Not only that but a preacher who is excited about what he is preaching about. There is nothing wrong with celebrating about what Jesus done on the cross for mankind and there is nothing wrong with celebrating the fact that he got up from the grave!''PREACH'' THE GOOD NEWS OF THE CROSS! THANKS PREACHER!

  • Lol I love when he says *yaaaa..yessir..* and goes back into whoopin

  • One of the Best Closers man that's awsome!!! And to those who don't kno Whoopin' IS biblical when Ezekiel was preachin in the valley of dry bones he was not speakin in a soft solmn voice b/c the valley was huge and all the bones had to hear him. That's why it starts off with O ye dry bones that O meant he was talkin in a loud voice (yellin' or as we call it whoopin) read the book. you get happy at sports and yell why the preacher can't yell about the GOD he serves and everyone wants to live with

  • While I believe whooping is overused & highly overated. I like the way Pastor Ray does his thing. Also from what tapes I've heard of him atleast he teaches you something before he goes off into the whooping. I do hope this style wears thing soon though. I find it annoying sometimes with all the noise they make. Whooping has condition the people into looking for a good time instead of a good sound word. We need to stop looking to have "church" but rather be the church.

  • dnt 4get that bishop c.h.mason came out of the baptist church

  • I saw that someone commented on the "Art of Whooping." While it may not be biblical it has historical value in the black culture. In the days of slavery black slaves were not allowed to teach or preach the Word of God, however they were allowed to sing. Therefore, the men would sing inspiring gospel message in order to teach and encourage there fellow black congregants. Over time this form of singing the Gospel evolved into what we commonly know as "Whooping."

  • Pure entertainment. I love me some good preaching.

  • PREACH PREACHER!!!

  • Preach Rev. Ray... Teach the word of GOD

  • PULL IT DOC!

  • Preach Man!

  • I dont care what no one says this man PREACHED that night lol lawd hav mercy ......

  • what a wicked close

  • One of the best to do it...period dot.

  • I know he preached a powerfull word befor he whooped!!!! The Baptist whoop when it is annointed is so powerful just like Pastor Frank Ray here! I miss Bishop Patterson alot though cuz he could teach preach and Whoop in the annointing of God too!!!!!

  • Bishop Patterson in many ways could have been baptist. lol But I'm grateful to God for him because he looked beyond COGIC, Baptist, and all other denominations and organizations and just preached Jesus. Great man of God.

  • Amen!!!

  • Everytime I see this clip, it just reminds me of the truth: A FRANK RAY CLASSIC.

  • it's great when the baptists and the COGIC peeps bridge the denominational gap. COGIC is blessed with and by the Baptist whoop.

  • I agree that we need to bridge denominational gaps...I am COGIC and our hoop is a lil different but when our Baptists going to allow the freedom of worship to come in?

  • I hate to bust your bubble but this denominational stereo typeing is just not right, I have gone to some dead cogic churches as well as some dead baptist churches But I thank God for the full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship because we allow worship to come in. I just came from a killer districk confrence and experienced the true presence of God and guess what church it was st Galilee baptist church.

  • You are not busting my bubble brother. I am speaking out of my experiences. Most Baptist churches are obsessed with sticking to the program and will attempt to override the Spirit. Thank God for Full Gospel Baptist(FOUNDED BY A SON COGIC SON)!!!

  • when you get a chance type in this preacher tiangelo hill. tell me what you think hes a baptist boy fil;led with the holy ghost

  • Let's not arugue. We are supposed to be saved. I have seen Tiangelo Hill on the word network(I believe he is from Georgia??)Very good, young preacher. Be blessed.

  • Yes I realise and know that bishop morton was cogic and his elder brother is stil cogic pastoring his fathers church But we must understand that sometimes people can be stereotyped by denomination and I have been to some cogic churches that you could here a pen drop in the service. not only that there are some that are so stuck in tradition it is sickning. I do agree with you that there are a lot of traditional baptist that dont allow for the holyghost, but thats about 50 50 now.

  • Well I read a few of the comments passed between u & "magicalfingers33" & I must side with him. I have been in the Baptist church all of my life & can honestly say that yes there are some that are more modest in their style of worship, but not every COGIC church I have been to have had people bouncing off the walls either! U can't speak for a whole denomination b/c of a few personal experiences. There are more black Baptists than any other denomination so there is no way to group them into one!!

  • AMEN

  • I Praise GOD for who is is and what he's doing now and what he's done in the past I thank God for giving Doc Frank Ray the knowledge of the word. He lives what he Preaches thats what counts.

  • He's my favorite!

    PREACH IT DOWN, DOC!!!

  • This is a preaching legend here. Pastor Ray is anointed; this message is going down in history as a Frank Ray classic. I mean, Rev. Ray has the right to celebrate right here because the WHOLE MESSAGE was just packed with illuminative knowledge. Bishop Patterson and the entire TOD family seemed to go there with him. I don't care what the haters say: keep preaching, Dr. Ray! Jackson TN loves you!

  • Preach Rev. Ray!!!!!!

  • Preach Bishop F. E. Ray!!!

  • That's my chairman of the late night services of the National Baptist. Preach Pastor Frank E. Ray! lol! It is good to see Baptist and C.O.G.I.C blessing God together. Was that Rev. Frank E. Ray Jr. on organ?

  • We always talk about "When we All get to Heaven".....We gotta get together down here first. I wish we could more fellowships like this!

  • Hello my name is Rev.Maurice Gant I am 32yrs old and have a family. I really enjoy your sermons. I have family in your area. My cousin use to go to new gardens in coldwater where you father law use to pastor I always wanted to opportunity to visit your church and for God to open up a door, for me to preach other places

  • PREACH SIR!!!! I'ma that "alright"

*Check out Minister Aaron McNair Jr.

  • Frank E. Ray is the absolute bomb. I mean, he came to our city [Jackson TN] and practically the whole city packed up to come and see him. He's got the best of both worlds: he's got thorough knowledge of the Word, and He can put some "gravy on the biscuits." Anybody who can close a message either with whooping or without it is just dangerous to the devil. Whooping is part of expression, and as a preacher, I can say it: a lot of people wish they could do it...but the Word is the Word.

  • first off, if you heard the rest of the message before the close, you would know that my pastor has the word in its proper place. second, you are probably some black preacher that nobody even knows and probably cant whoop if God told you, Whoop or die. third, if youre a white preacher, youre stupid and dont really understand the art of black preaching period, either way shut the hell up.

  • it is unbiblical for you to try to tear down this man of GOD with your comments, it is written judge not less you be judged for the same measures you judge you will be judged also! it is written JESUS is the only just judge, now either the WORD(JESUS)has made an error?or you have exalted yourself(man)?

  • Why is it, because we want to do something and cannot we complain about those that can. Those called by God preach and those called by their own merits sit back and complain. I pray God's continued blessings to Rev Ray and his ministry..whoop! whoop! on my brother

  • Dont be upset because you cant reach

  • All I know is when a preacher is this excited about the gospel a lost soul will notice.I hear word all in Rev. Ray's hooping!

  • Pastor Ray is the greatest, he knows the Word, he teaches like no other, I rededicated my life to Christ under his ministry. The Lord has blessed me to serve @ New Salem for almost 6 7 years now and I can honestly say that he is not just a whoop. He knows the Word and I love him. Anyone who would like to speak negative of my pastor I please ask that you do it amongst yourselves and respect those of us who sit under his leadership.

  • 6 or 7 years.

  • Well all I know is that Bishop Patterson is lovin it! Im enjoying this hoop too - Preach a word sir!

  • Vic, my statement was not up for debate. However, if you were to study the African American culture of the early black church, the preachers who were slaves and some former slaves created the art of hooping. It was never meant for entertainment but rather expression. And that's nothing to be ashamed of. But my friend, please know that sometimes you don't always have to go in the deep end in order to swim. The salvation of souls and the glorification of God is all that matters. God bless you.

  • Take'em in Frank Edward; take'em in!!!

  • I love this.I'm proud to go to this church.

  • Coolbob, please understand that the Word is the most important thing in a sermon. A sermon is a failure without a Word from the Lord. However, hooping is apart of our heritage. Hooping is meant to allow a preacher to express how he's feeling inside his heart so that people will feel just like he does. Hooping is really a Word but just mixed with music and there is no law against that.

  • romeo: where did you get that from hooping is not apart of our heritage. did jesus(yahshua) hoop. PLEASE GO FIND OUT WHO YOU ARE. saying that makes our people look bad.

  • Hello Vic, if you really do your study correctly you will discover that all Jews even current day Jews when they Praythe SING the Prayer in a rythemicpattern that is very simular to the African American Preaching art of Hooping.

  • roy: do not say anything to me untill you have done some research. start by finding out who you are first. also back then there was no letter J so were are you getting jew from.

  • Hosea 4:6 says "my people are destroyed because they lack knowledge." We don't lack theatrics, programs and entertainment, we lack knowledge.

Again, I've watched Frank Ray on the Word Network many times and it's obvious he knows the Word. I just think he would serve believers better w/o the whoopin.

  • I'm not hating. It's just that we live in an age where people need the WORD, not excessive noise, gyrations, and sing song delivery. The body of Christ needs to be taught the Word like never before. Spending unnecessary time grabbing your ear, leaning your neck back, and quoting hymns may get the people jumping and clapping, but it doesn't equip people with the Word which is what we all need in this end time.

  • oh coolbob, dont hate!!! my pastor has the right to celebrate like this. you should watch the whole video. this is probably the sermon he's most known for.check out the whole thing then you will understand.

  • Dr. Ray is the embodiment of the Baptist preach with a penecostal flavor. He's astute at deciminating the word of God in a fashion that tells a story.I first discovered this gifted preacher in New Orleans, LA preaching at the Greater St. Stephens Full Gospel Baptist Church in 1994

  • Preach it Rev. Ray !! Doc is one of my mentor's.
