Here I'll throw down one of my cards, In WoW you get 10 classes with 3 different specs each so you get 30 different play styles. In runescape you get Range Mage and Melee. Dont go into that pures bull shit either its still the same thing.

Lastly it depends on the class your playing to determine how long it takes to kill some one. For example a Protection Warrior it takes around 10 seconds to kill some one but they barely take any damage, but frost mages you can kill 20 ppl in less than 30 seconds and at the end u could have lost a lot of health, also professions can make you 500g in one hour which is a decent amount.
in WoW PvP you can get Gladiator, Merciless Gladiator, Vengeful Gladiator Brutal Gladiator Savage Gladiator Hateful Gladiator Deadly Gladiator and Furious Gladiator, each class can get more than 7 pieces of gear made for them (I'll use the minimum to prove a point) so 10 classes each getting 7 and multiplying that by 8 gladiator ranks u get 560 pieces of unique gear (not including weapons capes or trinkets) and not only do you get gear but you also get titles if your really good...
