@pxdfover Ranger school is open to any male in the military (and sometimes foreign countries). Graduating Ranger school and getting your tab doesn't make you a Ranger, just Ranger qualified. Ranger Assessment and Selection Program (RASP) is the only way to enter the Regiment and "be" a Ranger (i.e. go to combat).

The M4 is an excellent weapon system and the Regiment felt it was better to spend money elsewhere.

The EBR and Mk17 are used as DMRs for rangers, If you havent noticed most DMRs are 7.62, ya fuckin boy scout

@PeculiarLotus Every Ranger remembers RIP. The week at Cole Range where you didn't get to sleep, it always seemed to rain and hitting the woodline countless times. The 12 mile road march and seeing half your class quit and jump on the bus. Being told to don your berets out on the Ranger monument and wearing your scroll for the first time, it was defining. But yeah honestly, you don't remember RIP because you never went. It'd be one thing to argue with a civilian, but your arguing with a Batt Boy
