  • i like the key change. a lot.

  • Wow. I went to this vid because I hadn't heard the song in a while and now all the haters have come out.

    Go Dollyrots!

  • I dont like it a a ropunk rock fan, but if pop on the radio was like this it would be better than what is on radio right now. This should replace pop.

  • lmao this shit sucks

  • ...Uhhh.....my head.... It's like green day and rebecca black had a child that noone wants...

  • chump has another Rif, slow and only 3 chords.....the song is cool!!....

  • @12omanov

Are you one of those stupid highschoolers I refer to in my last post? DUDE, go educate yourself and buy Dookie if you haven't—it's the exact same damn progression. Heeeelllllloooo, this song and Chump have three chord progressions at the beginning.

  • @12omanov

It's also basically the same rhythm and meter.

  • Did anyone else notice they ripped the opening chord progression RIGHT from Chump?

Oh, god, you high-schoolers that listened to Green Day post-2004 probably don't even know how Chump goes....

  • @TheManstart they totally did! i mean its a good song but thats definitely from Chump

  • Love the Dollyrots... and... well... I admit it... woman + bass guitar = HOT!

Don know why... just sayin... I gotta thing for women who play bass.... a little wierd maybe, but I'm in love!

  • if you are looking for good music from bands you've never heard of before, go to musictomyears(dot)tk

  • Percaya Gak Percaya, Dan Lu Harus Percaya. Twitter gu Di Follow Sama The Dollyrots, dan lebih Gilanya, Mention Gu Dibales Sm Kelly The Dollyrots (Vokalis), bahkan doi Juga NgeFollow Balik Twitter gu. Gak nyangka Gu, bisa kenalan sama Band Rock n Roll Luar Negeri Lewat Twitter.. hahaha.

  • Yeahhh...

  • The beginning sounds just like the beginning guitar for Green Day's song, "Westbound Sign"

  • i met these and got them to sign my shirt they rock

  • faggots

  • Eh.

  • Sounds like Josie & the Pussycats! Nice.

  • I saw The Dollyrots with Bowling For Soup a few months back, unfortunatly they weren't that good live :/ It's a shame.

  • @DrummerboiJack omg where A and FTSK there to i was there in october

  • anyone know the chords for this because i can't find them anywhere?

  • I don't think I like this although I am watching it.

  • @electrowaffle rebecca black gone punk rebecca black style

  • This song is great, but "Wreckage" is my favorite song. The Dollyrots kick ass, and are better performers than someone like Katy Perry.

  • fun pop punk

  • just messing with ya. With almost every punk band using the same 3 cords they are going to sound similer. I would suggest that u listen to some other songs from the dollyrots. and in my opinion I think kelly blows avril out of the water. but thats just my opinion. and i like greendays album dookie but they have gotten to political for me.the great thing about punk is to have fun and not take yourself to serious

  • @woodster402001 amen

  • i love kelly o and the dollyrots

  • if this song was less pop-ish, and she didn't sound so much like avril lavigne, it could have been cool.. and btw, the beginning sounds EXACTLY like "westbound sign" by green day. wtf.

  • @CrazyAssFromNorway stay in norway

  • @woodster402001 hahaha, wtf?

  • @Rodensweet MTV used to show videos.

  • AWESOME! Im pretty sure thats a Jagstang! Reminds me alot of the Ramones or the Spazzys..

  • it sucks

  • wtf.....

  • BlankTV, I'm starting to dislike you. Either the uploads are low quality, have severe distortions or you recommend teenage pop music like this while the video I was watching certainly sounded nothing like this.

  • No sir I don't like it

  • lol.. k

  • This songs so catchy lol xP

  • Love!!

  • The beginning sounds a lot like "2.000 Light Years Away" by Green Day

  • JAG STANG!

  • it's unfortunate that such a shit band got such a good name.

  • @LimeySnee read my mind.

  • @LimeySnee I thought the exact same thing. I was fooled into listening to them because I thought their name was awesome so I assumed they were awesome.. I was so wrong.

  • the 1st riff sound like west bound sign by GD lol anyone else noticed that?

  • the 1st riff sound like west bound sign by GD lol anyone else noticed that

  • I love them!!! seems like they're female version of BLINK 182, anyone agree? hahaha

  • ther klass live

  • Yeah, now all MTV is good for is well nothing besides RJ Berger....

  • luis sed he liked my shirt when i met the dollyrote and he sed i was already beetter than him rock on \,,/(-_-)\,,/

  • Haha love it, but riped off green day lol

  • I especially like the part where they rip the opening riff straight from 'Westbound Sign' by Green Day.

  • Cool song. I find her voice annoying tho.

  • I accidentally found out about leftover crack when I knocked on my neighbors door one morning and they answered.....lol

  • ...just...brilliant...

  • This is god awful.

Anyone who calls this punk needs to be punched in the throat

  • @morbidlyxyours bring it :P

  • Comment removed

  • @morbidlyxyours - Yeah, "Punk Rock Girl" was really on the edge. LOL!

  • weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It makes me laugh how people moan that this 'isn't as good as 80's punk'. Guys, this kind of stuff isn't the enemy - I'd much rather listen to this than that pseudo-RnB rubbish that the chart's full of. At least they're attempting to keep punk going, and good for them! :D

  • @thewerepuppygrr HAT IS OFF TO YOU!!!!!!! I agree, all I've been arguing. I don't want to see another Poison, and wish Bon Jovi would just vanish,.....how many time can you sing about Tommy and Gina,.....or whatever their freakin' names are???

  • @SmellsLikeOwen Don't bring Tommy & Gina into this! what have they done?

  • @thewerepuppygrr really?!? ur stand up for this stuff? the only thing this stuff succeeds in doing is creating annoying little kids who think they're punk cus its "cool" n then they go n buy their safety pins n hair dye at Hot Topic

this music is a joke n most people dont like this(people who like 80's punk that is)cus its been commercialized!

Punk wasnt something u could buy, basically

besides most of the snobbish kids that listen to this have no respect for the people that lead the way

  • @changobilly22 - Punk was always something you could buy. It was dirt cheap.

  • @LanceATL not buy physically tho. you cant just throw money somewhere and say you were punk or are punk is what i ment.

    but yes, punk was cheap

which is annoying because now its been turned into somethin to make money off of by people who are only interested in the money

    so yea

  • @changobilly22 - Now? Ha! You have been able to "buy" punk since the late 70's. It's no different than any other genre or style anymore. You may get into it for the fun, but the second you collect a single cent from it, it becomes a business. Punk is in no way "punk" anymore because society has changed, therefore the original attitude no longer applies. Now, you just look ridiculous trying to be pissed-off all the time.

  • @LanceATL Punk wasnt bought those days, it was made. In those days it there wasn't certain things you could buy that said punk, you just made it yourself, with the safety pins, the ideas, and the attitude.

Also business implies further income, further collections. People didn't go around selling it in the late 77's when it started, i doubt even the bands knew they would be able to make money. It just was what it was.

but yes, when it comes to the current situation, i do agree, its ridiculous

  • @changobilly22 - I respectfully disagree. After all, the Sex Pistols were pretty much born out of a clothing store and the Ramones were already featured in a movie by '79. It was very fashionable by the late 70's and the British press ran with it. The look was easily accessible. It was just the "greaser" look anyways. Punk was a money maker. That's why so many bands were signed. The Clash even opened for The Who. And punk started before '77 if I read what you wrote correctly.

  • @LanceATL i have to disagree with you there. The Sex Pistols were in no way born out of a clothing store. They were born through the Ramones who went on tour in the UK. Same with the clash. Hell, the I Hate Pink Floyd shirt that Lydon wore was also worn by Paul cus they basically had a communal closet. Even their instruments were stolen

n the "greaser" look was FAR from punk. Maybe the Teddy boy look but not Greaser.

n around 77 was the birth of punk not pre punk most pretentious dudes say it is

  • @changobilly22 - Malcolm Mclaren owned a popular clothing store that sold punk-styled clothes and he's the one that put the Pistols together and managed them as far back as '76. The Ramones first album came out in early '76 and they toured the UK that year. The greaser/teddy boy look is practically the same thing, (jeans, t-shirt, leather jacket). If people consider The Ramones first album the first official punk album, they wrote and recorded long before '77 so why would 77 be the birth?

  • @LanceATL Greaser is jeans, t-shirt, leather jacket. Teddy is more dressy. They wore more coats and slacks and the only real similarity was the hair and small details like that.

and when i said '77, i also clearly put around, meaning not exactly '77, and if you agree that it was born on '76, then im pretty sure its safe to say that you'd agree that it was Around '77

besides, most people say '77 because it was just a good year for music, especially in NY

  • @LanceATL not that your pretentious just that most people who say that are. At least the ones that talk about pre punk or "Protopunk." whatever you want to call it.

  • This is catchy and cute but it's going to be a shame when the girl reaches puberty and loses that higher register. It happens to the best of them. Look at James Hetfield.

  • just seems like kids having fun playing music i can respect that

  • My question is......WHY DO I ENJOY THIS SOOO MUCH!?!?!?!

  • Can we say 1980 again?? Fun, but the original punkers did it better.

  • New College represent! Alum 98, and It still blows my mind when I see the Dollyrots pop up in the "real world." I kinda wish this song had more to do with NC though... then again maybe not... :)

  • @2:54 she squeeks... its funny.. :P

  • @ozymay Well, guess you haven't listened to them much, I like the voice, heard her go high and low, has a good range. What I like more, is the telling fact that she was a six string player first, probably grabbed a bass cause they needed it, and just kept doing itl As a drummer, it's much harder to play and sing on that side of it, than struming a chord progression and singing. No doubt you have to give her some credit. They rock.

  • @SmellsLikeOwen calm down. I just said that she squeeked. Not that they suck geez. I wouldent be watching this if I dident like em. I saw em live a few months ago.

  • @ozymay it's fine. I'm just happy to see Punk bands making a move back into the picture. I actually like her voice and attitude, and the chord progressions are decent. And anyone can tell you, it's much harder to play bass or drums and lead the vocals than a six string, sort of like going against the grain of the song in some ways. No they're not Nirvana, but who is? Well, other than the PIXIES. Frank Black still lives on...........

  • @SmellsLikeOwen back in the picture? soo playing bass and singing is harder than playing guitar? I guess thats true if the bassist is doing fills. Which I dont hear any from her at all in this song. but singing and playing at the same time isnt very hard. unless ur doing a lot of lead guitar or bass fills while ur playing. Im just aslo wondering.. why would u compare to nirvana?

  • @ozymay I"ve played in a lot of bands. I drum. I can bar chord, and with one band played some bass. But, with all those bands, I heard more from bass players that said, " No way I can't do lead vocals and play this". But, hey who cares? Have your own thought on it. Just saying what what I've experienced. It's a really good band, especially LIVE, loved em'! I said they weren't the next Nirvana. But, if ya really want to get into into, better learn about the PIXIES. Said by Cobain.

  • @SmellsLikeOwen pixies, never really liked em much.

  • @ozymay Well, then you possibly never would have heard Nirvana, if not for the Pixies. This is a waste of time. Cobain said in and interview that Smells Like Teen Spirit would NEVER have been a song, even the guys within the band joked at him about the song. His WORDS!! It was a Pixies chord progression that he used. Thus, possibly the song wouldn't existed, and possibly the legend of Cobain would not have exploded. Go to freakin' school and learn some things before you go spouting off!!!!!!!!

  • @SmellsLikeOwen What do you play?? Seriously? I'm thinkin' guitar hero.........maybe? LMAO. Geeze. Tell me, what's the difference between G sharp and A flat on the fretboard?

  • @SmellsLikeOwen All I said was, I dont like em much hahaha. And you go on this rant lol. duude.. if the beatles wernt around the pixies probably wouldent either. sooo who cares if the pixies infulenced nirvana. Im not in to them.

  • @ozymay

    Just ignore "smellslikeowen"

he's just looking to piss people off and be a know-it-all.

  • @morbidlyxyours haha i figured thanks

  • Westbound sign.

  • Woooo!!! I love the dollyrots my life!!! I love her shirt too!!! Keep it up!!

  • ARK' ITS GREEN DAY' COVER!!

  • Love this song!

It first reminded me of Westbound Sign by Green Day. :)

  • I'm listening to this at New College right now!

  • I played live with these guys and hung out with them after the show. They are super cool and great people.

  • Omg I love the candy in the background. Oh and the song's awesome too.

  • how old is this video never heard this band before they seem ok

  • MTV used to show videos period. >=(

  • What a fun band :)

  • MTV used to show videos like this,

  • @rodensweet Videos.. on Mtv..?! I don't believe it!! Ha.

  • @cockyjeremy they did! years ago....before the dawning of time! all they showed were poison videos and michael jackson!....but even mj the child molester beats this shit!!!!

  • @rodensweet MTV showed vidoes!!!?!?!?! i thought that was a myth! could it be true? .. do you think this means snatas real to? hee :D

  • @rodensweet Yeah, now a MTV is good for is well nothing besides RJ Berger....

  • enjoy the song WHILE ripping each other apart, both highly amusing

  • dam.. was she like 16 back when they filmed this video?

  • damn, just enjoy the song instead of ripping each other apart.

  • Thank you

  • Good job its not by David Bowie, And If you wanna bring out chords then I guess every song is a rip off of Pachabell's "cannon in d"

  • Fucking exactly what I said. At least you hear it. God damn.

  • You're all fucking idiots if you think its okay for them to completely rip off someone else just because its the same supposed "genre". There is a difference from influence and being completely copied. And yes, Green Day did invent their own shit, if you say otherwise you're an uneducated dumbass. Idiots like you should all be rendered deaf and be done with it.

  • You mean how greendays new song 21 guns sounds just like "all the young dudes". Not that i don't like it just dont say greenday wirtes everything them self and bash other bands for "COPYING" there music when they do it themself. Or am I just an uneducated dumbass who should be rendered deaf and be done with?

  • Uh, yeah, I know that David Bowie song very well thanks, and I all ready know those two songs sound nothing alike. So apparently you've all ready been rendered deaf. And, there is no way you can put copying in quotations if you actually took the time to compare the songs. There are no quotes to be written, its exact. And besides that, That whole Green Day album is a pathetic excuse and example for Green Day's work. Not even going to deny that.

  • green day is utterly influenced by the ramones.... with minor spins. just remember that theres nothind new under the sun in punk rock, and thats the way we like it.

  • @PostMortemRape - Yeah, Green Day invented all their own shit. Just ask Chicago.

  • This song completely COPIES the riff for Westbound Sign by Green Day! Even the fucking drum roll after the opening riff! What the hell! And they haven't been sued yet? What is this shit?! It copies it exactly! And everyone is saying they're talented?! They're not, they're fucking losers ripping off good bands and taking credit.

  • every pop punk songs sound like every others pop punk song...

    so...

  • @PostMortemRape - Yep, Green Day doesn't cop riffs. Just ask Chicago. And did anyone ever consider it as a nod to Green Day? Maybe if you guys were over 16.....

  • wtf is this sh? pfffff

  • also teenie bopper's... followed a style of music.. like bubblegum or pop... which was basically fast temped... and had a great beat you could BOP around the dance floor to...

  • The guitar player is playing Kurt Cobain's Jagstang! I wish i had one.

  • THEY ROC IN CONCERT!

  • THATS SO FUNNY...this was shot at UCLA. the stage in Royce Hall...they had a million trucks and crews for this,,,, the money they spend now days for a POP song is more than the Beatles probably spent for their entire six years of recording. but the song does rock it,,for the kids.

  • i think they're like a bubblegum punk genre, pretty cool though.

  • actually...she's copying Josie Cotton's first album all the way...Josie's album was full of this exact sound....i saw Josie in the late 70's day's,, at Madame Wong's West in Santa Monica...great fun time...the crowd was full of what were called then.... teenie bopper's.

  • ok, whatever. lets all bash the people who actually go out and look for different artists, while everyone knows the real "teenie boppers" are the ones who listen to jonas brothers and taylor swift.

  • man you type fast...relax dude.

    .i wasn't knocking them..i said i had fun

    .hell .......i was right there too,,,wasn't i???

and i agree on the jonas corporation

but Taylor is the real deal,,,i think,,i dont know a single song,,,but shit,,,she look gooood to me. peace-out

  • whats a teenie bopper??

  • a teenie bopper ...are young teen girls who are into going to see famous singer's and star's ...and being where the action is going on....usually screaming and making a big deal about the teen idols in the past.... they then became called "groupies" as they would hang around bands..mostly at club's... and do anything they could to get noticed by the band member's...these are terms used mainly in the sixties and seventies...

  • @CHUCKLOVES1969 - I dunno. The Beatles spent quite a bit of cash in the studio.

  • i wish my band sounded like this

  • her voice is irritating.

    and she said "swag"

    SMH.

  • pretty good song by them...the vid is weird but other than that not bad.

  • surely this isnt classed as a girl band then?? cos a girl band means all girls!! some ppl are seriously dumb!!

  • the drummer is hot :)

  • every1 is saying this is a girl band but aint the guitarist a bloke? lol

  • yes it is lol

  • _+ nice poppunk song!!!!!

    nakputa..kagaling yo!!!

    more songs to come..

  • i love girl bands was in one...in old days

  • all girl-bands suck?

what about Emilie Autumn, or Warbirde, or Kittie, or The Bangles, or Jack Off Jill, or even Octavia Sperati?

I don't think any of those "suck". sure...there are a LOT of bad girl-bands, but you shouldn't generalize

  • That said, there is a fuck ass load of all guy bands that suck. So whoever you're aiming this at is obviously an idiot. Go you. Kittie and Jack Off Jill are great.

  • @emilieautumnFAN13 - Thank you for mentioning JOJ. You must be from South Florida.

  • miss Amy :(

  • great song from a great band it just shows that girls are good musicians

  • girl bands and female singers are great.

i think you are shit and gay.

    girls rule. i love girls.

  • This band is GREAT and I'm OLD. Girl bands kick ass. Can't imagine what you're thinking.

  • its to fast , some parts should be slower, sounds like she is talking the song really fast

  • what are you 80 years old?

  • favorite line "what up lucky ho! hey yo like whats up?" i love the dollyrots!!! and oddly enough, they said that a lot of gay people really like them... wonder why?

  • Rumahuqu says YEAH !

  • I love this song!! it's so energetic! the video is really cool! one of my favorite bands!!!

  • oh! i got a toothache!

  • Rap can be an amazing style of music, what the fuck? Rap and punk are actually far too similar, in the way the movements rose and fell victim to the mainstream culture as well.

  • We Punkers need to Come out of the underground and Become the New Thing and Kick RAP to the Fucking Curb

  • No, just no. Then punk will lose the underground´ness. Coming out will ruin it all, mate.

  • Not always We could still keep the undergroundness I just stay that Punk needs a Revoution and Rap needs to be KIll off and Whom beter to do that then Punk

  • Well, I really don´t care much about the rap fans and alike, as long as they don´t bug me, I don´t bug them. But, I think that if bands as NOFX, Propagandhi, Bad Religion and alike would be shown on MTV, they would lose a lot of their message. But you´re right, rap needs to be killed of, not completely, but they need to lay off the "Yoyo mothafucka" shit with me.

    Later.

  • I am just really tied of Rap because of it I have been fun of More than usual and Rap has No fucking message and Punk does that all I mean

  • Yeah, that´s something you can´t ignore, the message... Kinda strange tho, we have this whole conversation at a pop punk (Meh, I think it's power pop) vid ;P

    Later.

  • I see what your saying all tho I would Aruge that it seems the song really punk sounding to me and Just a Q? r u a girl?

  • My friend,

Don´t get your hopes up, I´m pretty much no girl. Why are you asking that?

  • You just sound a little bit like one because your screen Name

  • Gee, thanks.-.-

  • Oh sorry man I was jus asking don't Mean to get you down and This to talk has Be Nice a hang with a butch of goths so theres not much talk about Punk Rock

  • No worries mate, I don´t get angered quickly. If you wanna chat or something, just send me a message.

    Later.
