The real one is belt fed, yes. The side-box on this resembles the ammo can they would sometimes mount to the side of the gun. However, most of the time, there was an ammo-man and the gunner. The ammo man would carry the ammunition around, and feed it into the gun.

Funny you should say that... we actually had to re-film this vid, because that literally happend. When I turned the gun, it was unbalanced on the bed, and it tipped over. The video ended with with bbs going EVERYWHERE and me calmly saying, "Son-of-a-BITCH."

True story, I almost wish we had kept the footage just for blooper laughs. It was pretty funny looking back at it.

That would be miserable... key to this gun not doing that, is to make sure it has a solid base to rest on. It's meant to be heavy cover fire, so it's best to either go prone, or find a nice trench to sit in while you fire it. Running with it, is really not advisable.

the real one shot 500 rounds per minute. personally, i think this is too slow for an MMG, especially when the germans were using the MG-42 that could give out 1500 rmp, which is equivalent to 3 browning machine guns! imagine that!

Yes, this gun is in the game.

What a lot of younger kids don't understand though, is that we were NOT inspired by a mere game. I say younger kids, because a lot of teens don't understand what WW2 did for our country. We knew about these guns long before COD5 was released, and we had them before it, too.

I guess I am very defensive about WW2, and I want people to realize that it goes far beyond a simple video game. Men gave their lives for us, and I am honored to be an American.

I am a WW2 buff aswell, so this collection is, to me, one of the greatest and most interesting in the world - A lot of respect to you and your team for going through with it and making it this unique.

WW2 shaped much of todays society so i think it is important to have knowledge about it, knowledge that extends further than "guns from cod 5"
