Addicts need help to overcome their substance problems. Some actually need the support, to the opposite of what some people seem to believe. eRehabCoach (customizable online rehab support tool) can help them. It made me free (in conjunction with traditional therapy). Good luck and nice video.
confrontation is dysfunctional communication leading to a strange kind of intimacy a bit like addiction; but addiction is not a choice by definition; it's an imposition which some (addictive personalities) are more vulnerable to than others; consumer culture seeks to enslave us to all kinds of products, making us all victims of corporate machinations; but in the end the addict must confront their addictive nature or remain a fossil self; i joined and abstinence group - PTAA; Respect is due
it's the choice they regret making, until they realized it's too late: you're addicted. They feel bad, or "sorry for themselves", as you so tactfully put it, because they wish they could change. You obviously have no idea what it's like to want two opposite things equally much at the same time: to stay addicted and to be free of it. Try a little support and positivity, don't laugh at people who are fighting to get better.
thanks for your comment.I guess loosely translated you mean you have not got a proper answer so you will just be insulting and bitchy and try to upset or put me down well all the best with that attitude hope you have a wonderful life feeling sorry for your self and going no where.
This is a awesome video, I have had struggles and continue to fight eachday to be live life to the fullest... to escape the darkness that I had imprisoned myself with for so long. Now a mother, and attending church I begin again.... to give my child a life other than what I was given. I am Thankful for this chance God has granted me and hope one day to help others find their way out. Thank you.
Anyone can beat an addiction if they really want to and everyone has an authentic self which is better than what they have become due to their addiction. Look at your addicted self in the mirror and say to yourself: "I am better than that... I deserve better than what I have become.". It's not easy but the effort is worth it.
Clasping its coolly deceptive exterior swallowing a soothingly smooth liquid flower drowning shame sinking fears prolonging suffering looking now through dull glassy eyed anger unable 2 fight the terrifying vertical embrace of this hoax hostage 2 a slick hypocritical bite a singular self destructive impostor absent of pride bottled & discarded upon the decaying heap of social misery forever shrouded in a life of poisonous mist between center & balance bound only by threads we weave.
Held in the misty cold grip of veiled death, the beauty of he'r soul struggles with the callous demons of addiction, caught between life and living, nerves growing shorter and shorter as the cravings relentlessly itch and dig their deep hollows through he'r personal life, controlled by the seductive force of fear, imprisoned by its will, as the dark shadow of slow insidious death, smiles from within the smoke s'he exhales . . .
ive been slamming dilaudids and oc 80's for about three years now and i'm about to go into rehab for the first time does anyone have any suggestions or insight
iv'e withdrawn many times before but i could only stand it for a day or two at most
im absolutely terrified of whats gonna happen
will they give me methadone or suboxen in there?
if anybody knows anyhting plz respond
and plz no religion i dont want any christians ramming jesus down my throat
duhduhduhda, many places now offer medicine to help with the pain and the withdraw. Ultimately, you have to take advantage of the help till your body is past the need. This need will always be in the back of your head, but as long as you no longer feed it, it will remain silent. Good luck. Remember, there are a lot of new meds out now that help you get past this.
It requires a spiritual solution. It doesn't have to be Jesus but a God of your understanding is necessary for long-term recovery. Addiction and alcoholism is a symptom of underlying problems which require effort on your part to change and that includes discarding your self will in favor of a higher power. It works.
Research your rehab choices. Specifically ask if they are a 12 step indoctrination center. There are few non faith-healing rehab centers- but that's what you want. Suboxone would be ideal along with good therapy - not necessarily group therapy. And yes, I am a doctor.
I feel your pain. At my worst I was on 48 mg dilaudid (12 4 mg tabs)per day and 100 mcg fentynal/2 days and 8 mg/day Lorazapam.
I lost my life. Today, after 2 years and many sleepless nights, I am drug free and have my life back and then some. There is hope.
My wife took two months off of work and we looked beyond ourselves to God. It was minute by minute at times. We used no substitutes. You must have support. Weaning little by little worked for us.
i went to the center for drug fre living here in orlando and they gave me suboxone and weaned me off of it but i met a dope dealer in there who lives near me so 2 days after i got out i fucked up again but now im withdrawing again at home day 3 cant sleep and the clonidine they gave me makes me feel like im walking through 3 ft of mud
beating addiction has nothing to do with change, it is more of an adjustment. Don't assume change equals victory, because it does not. Don't lose yourself in the struggle.
You feel as though you cannot fight it even for one more moment, but then you call out to Jesus and He lifts the cross with you. I could not have torn myself away from addiction without the motivation of His love and the promise of His infinite mercy!
May His name be exalted forever--my king, my friend, my peace, my hope, and my salvation; Jesus my Lord and my all.
inside the brain's circadian spot, every human is programmed. It produces dopamine to control the amount of prolactin, stimulus.....& the opposite as in the putamen n' caudate nucleus. So u know, PPO's in bananas, (when their brown), and other fruits/vegetation- grow D1, D2, D3,;etc;
addiction is a disease of the mind, and since everyone's mind is different...some people are more prone to addiction than others. some will have a little easier time getting over it. I know from personal experience. It is a horrible and humbling thing to have to go through.
addiction is a disease it is also psychological and mental. don't talk about what you don't know. if you dont have the addiction you can't understand it so if you dont have it dont try to understand it
addiction is not a disease why are ppl such idiots? "i am powerless to control it" fuck you dumbass its purely psychological and id do an experiment on myself just to prove it to your dumb asses, get an addiction (phsychological) and then throw it off with some motivation and will power. it dont need to be treated like no disease cuz it aint one.
well, am not agree with some parts of chatolisism, but i like this song, and i think that anybody knows that alcohol is bad for healt, not necesarly the religion got to tell us. and we dont need to be religious to catch it on. (sorry by my english)
You cannot show a catholic the terrible evil their church has done and expect them to realize they have chosen a poor path. Catholics are bigotted in their "faith", which is a false one.
Such a beautiful song, moves me every time I hear it. Thanks Karen and guys for this song. This is the song that introduced me to the Innocence Mission. I heard it on, of all things, a local Celtic music radio show on a public radio station, and I mis-heard the group's name as "The Innocence Machine". Fortunately, I later figured out the correct band name. :) Thanks Doug Dixon, wherever you are.... RIP.
Really, really well done. I just wish you could've ended it on a more positive note (I mean, the end seemed like your message was "No matter what I do, the same thing happens").
You have created an abosultely amazing video here!!! The Innocence Mission's music and the imagery that you've captured are just perfect!!! I Thank you, thank you and Thank You for sharing this work of art with the whole world to see. many Blessings ~ Michael
Tonight is the first night of me quitting weed. People that say it isn't addictive LIE...or are misinformed. This song/video helped a lot.

No sympathy for addicts. You did it to yourself, and only you can undo it. So knock it off. Stop whining about how hard it is, just do it.
