The 66 books are obviously not corrupt since they are in BOTH Bibles. These are considered inspired by God. The "catholic" books are books that were not considered divine. A pope in the middle ages added them.

There are not 2 covenants first of all. Brit Codesha means renewed covenant. That's what Yahusha was saying in the sermon on the mount in Matt 5-7. It was not a change of mind. It was HIS plan all along. WHO do the prophets of the old testament point to?..... Jesus. Who does Jesus point to?.....GOD. Who was there at the beginning? Both the father and son. Both are given the title Alpha and Omega or First and Last. We are told that creation was done through power of Jesus John1:1-15 and Hebrews 1:5-12. There's no change of mind, only fulfillment of plan. GOD is not 'winging' it. HE has a plan that is playing out, step by step.

It's clear that Jesus expects us all to follow the Law of Moses because heaven and earth haven't disappeared yet and if everything has been accomplished, what's the point of the second coming?
Where does the bible say that the crucifixion fulfilled all that? If you do produce any then that would contradict Jesus in Matthew 5:17-18

Whenever a false prophet/teacher came along and began to lead God's people astray, they were commanded by God in the OT to put that person to death, and that is just what they did with Jesus. Period.

My study of the Hebrew scriptures points to stark similarities between the Messiah foretold by the prophets and the one called Jesus the Christ, the Son of God. Those who killed Jesus did not know the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, but followed another god ... the god of this world.

Worshipping Jesus IS idol worship according to the very OT that people now as well as at Jesus time claim to believe in. Those who still believed had a hand in putting him to death, right in line with their religious law handed down from God to men. Jesus was one among numerous cult leaders at that time who had a profoundly heretical teaching as far as God and His word are concerned. Jesus even essentially parrotted what others claiming similar things as he did also said at the time. Rubbish.

What I see going on now, and it went on in forming Christianity as well, is that when you don't like what the OT says, you seek to change it to something it doesn't say I assume to make it more palatable. What does God say in the OT that should be done to those who are 1)false prophets 2)claim that they themselves are God ? Killed. And Jesus was killed for this very reason right in line with what the Jews followed within the context of the laws handed down by Moses.

Jesus' words are an affront to God's own words and directives put forth by Him in the OT. From the lie that ANYONE comes between God and man as some sort of intercessor to Jesus vile words regarding how one must hate their own mother and father etc to follow him. Do you people even know just what a 'messiah' even is? It is NOT a 'God-man' that is for certain.

To ask whether the NT contradicts the OT is a false arguement.Jesus himself very much so contradicts the very word of God found in the OT.He is a false messiah as far as the Jews are concerned and myself as well after studying the issue.Trouble with most Christians is they don't really read their Bible and they have no concept of what much of their OT actually says as it was originally written,as the great majority of NT references to the OT absolutely butcher what the original words state.

The Old Testament laws are the same as I understand it. The only difference is, Jesus paid for the sins of mankind. So the payment for sin is changed from paying with your life to just believing in Jesus and repenting. That's an easier way to explain it which makes more sense.

Agreed, goat-numbers. If people just trace the actions of Moses (and his successors, Joshua et al.) as a politico-military leader, the Old Testament makes a lot of sense. The supernatural gets added and exaggerated through time, as with any oral tradition (that, in this case, is eventually brought to paper).

there are different translations of the same text, they are all accurate, just the wording choice is different, with very few variations. So yours has not been translated to English, and that makes it better?

The Catholic Bible (based on the Latin Vulgate of the fourth century) has 73 books, while the Protestant Bible (one thousand years later) only has 66 books. One of them (or both?) is obviously corrupt. Which one? The new one (66 books)? Or the old one (73 books)?

The 66 books are obviously not corrupt since they are in BOTH Bibles. These are considered inspired by God. The "catholic" books are books that were not considered divine. A pope in the middle ages added them.
