  • This is poetry! Love it.

  • nice vid! merry christmas!

  • Hi Saartje05

In my experience most horses will startle and scoot forward the first time they pull something. Some sessions, preferably in a round pen, pulling something like a heavy tire at first so they get used to the sound and sensation of pulling, and of straps around their legs, is highly recommended. Some horses will kick the first time. Once they are desensitized to the tire, there seldom are problems when hitched to a sleigh, expecially for sensible breeds like Haflinger!

  • I'd love to own a sleigh like that. I own a Haflinger gelding and he's be perfect. I just wonder, how does a horse react the first time pulling a sleigh. Isn't a sleigh sliding from right to left when there's less snow than on the video?

  • how fun is that!!! :)

  • Love the video and a very cute horse

  • Beautiful! I showed this to my 4 and 5 year old as we are reading "Little House in the Big Woods" by Laura Ingalls Wilder. It helped give them a visual. We live in a warm climate state...no snow, so this helped them understand!

  • Awsome video! I am thinking about restoring a sleigh for a winter project. Starting the research on cutters now. That is how I found your video. Thank you for sharing, it is just beautiful watching Mac. He is learning fast!
