I have Autobahn DSG purchased April 2011.

It appears many are experiencing some problems right away with 2011 GTIs.

Then two days ago I heard a loud banging noise from underneath the hood.

It still runs but now i'm worried its something serious.

It corners sooo flat!!! Awesome suspension work for such a comfortable car...VW has nailed it again...I'M A BIG FAN, but the R, in my opinion, isn't necessary at all...however, the 4motion is awesome in wet conditions....

Car and Driver has lost my respect. They've got a goddam GTI but no Evo X? No s2000? Hell. even a civic Si coupe has a undisputed handling edge on the GTI due to it being NA. Car and Driver needs to get real and quit playing with whatever agenda they've got going that makes them knowingly exclude vehicles that would upset their little lists like "best handling car" The only people who agree with this have never driver a performance car at a tenth of its capacity.

It says King of Corners, not fastest lap time. The GTI handles good so it's a contender. It probably won't win, but it can still be included.

@ratmtbola how do you figure they are better? Higher G's on the skid pad and faster slalom time = better at cornering, more grip and faster transitions. Ask anyone who knows cars RWD > FWD, torque steer = Crap and the GTI is FWD and it's not even in the same league as the GTR, PORCHE and CORVETTE maybe they should have done a best handling car under 35k.
