First of all, nations don't "give" their oil to multinational corporations; they sell (key word) their oil to multinational corporations. This, in turn, yields revenue for Venezuela which, in turn, becomes income. In other words, Chavez's attempt to help his country by giving "his people" oil, rather than selling it on the international market, is actually impoverishing them. Next, you have absolutely no evidence linking any Rockefeller to any actual crime.

Almost all Latin American countries have a Middle Class, and Venezuela is one for sure. Although Latin America's Middle Class doesen't have 5 cars per family and huge McMansions, they do have one car, many times new or only a few years old, a small, modest clean house, etc. But the American Media makes americans think that most live in squalor. As far as i know many south american countries are using 20-30% (or even higher) Ethanol-blended fuels.
This Ethanol-blended fuels are CRAP, because they have less power-density, consume more fuel and are much less cleaner than oil-based hydrocarbonates. This may not be the case for Venezuela, but the reason the gasoline is cheaper there, is because they don't have as much welfare than the U.S. has.

@Amirb718 in Venezuela we have power cuts on a daily basis, many basic goods dissapear from supermanrkets, in my city San Cristobal we have to line up for hours to put gas in our cars in acountry that used to produce 3.5 bd of oil and 2 million of products now produces 50% of this. Many TV and radio channels have been closed, murder rate has increasd 4 times since chavez took office and the rate in poor areas is even worse, people stay at home after dark we live in fear the country collapses

The banks in fact don't own the savings that people brought to them.
Therefore they should being held responsible if they speculate with the savings of people and risk losing it.

This, in turn, yields revenue for Venezuela which, in turn, becomes income. In other words, Chavez's attempt to help his country by giving "his people" oil, rather than selling it on the international market, is actually impoverishing them. Next, you have absolutely no evidence linking any Rockefeller to any actual crime.

The new constitution included increased protections for indigenous peoples and women, and established the rights of the public to education, housing, healthcare and food. As far as i know many south american countries are using 20-30% (or even higher) Ethanol-blended fuels.
This Ethanol-blended fuels are CRAP, because they have less power-density, consume more fuel and are much less cleaner than oil-based hydrocarbonates. This may not be the case for Venezuela, but the reason the gasoline is cheaper there, is because they don't have as much welfare than the U.S. has.

@Amirb718 in Venezuela we have power cuts on a daily basis, many basic goods dissapear from supermanrkets, in my city San Cristobal we have to line up for hours to put gas in our cars in acountry that used to produce 3.5 bd of oil and 2 million of products now produces 50% of this. Many TV and radio channels have been closed, murder rate has increasd 4 times since chavez took office and the rate in poor areas is even worse, people stay at home after dark we live in fear the country collapses

@rjbarboza The US did the opposite and privatized everything and now we are broke and mired in corruption and fascism. Chavez is refusing to allow his country to be raped by foreigners and giving the indigenous people there fair share since they do all the work. Don't hate on him, if you don't like it don't live there, it's that simple. Capitalism has no more capital and circling the drain as you read this.

@rjbarboza There are a bunch of movies & books that have come out regarding something called crony capitalism. This form of capitalism is based on corruption. In one case a private company corrupted a government in South America so that it gained the ownership of rain from the sky so that poor people who gathered rainwater were breaking the law. The people protested, some of them were shot & killed by the military there. Google (Bechtel water Bolivia Privatization rain). Please get a clue.

Some people commenting on the interview or talks have said that this Perkins guy is sugar coating what is actually happening--that it is much worse than Perkins is saying. Rather than reading second and third hand accounts, see John Perkins talk about this stuff directly in videos.
