Much of Baltimore is safe. The murders you hear about are mostly in certain areas and involve drugs, etc. Too much crime, no doubt, but there are very nice sections of the city.
The reason Baltimore is so violent is because the people who live there want it to be violent. I have lived in and around Baltimore my whole life, these people choose and prefer this way of life. I wont even go into the city anymore it's not worth the risk.
Is all of Baltimore violent or just certain neighborhoods? Are there any neighborhoods that are safe? I do agree that some communities are violent because people prefer that way of life. At the same time however, I do not believe that martial law is the answer. It would do more harm than good. There is no way to ensure that law enforcement won't commit any crimes. In many parts of the country, cops even come after law abiding citizens for calling them when they don't feel like doing anything.
You really need to think more, the 2nd amendment is very important. It allows the people to defend themselves, it prevents the government from enslaving and abusing it's people. And far more then 1% have firearms thankfully so don't just make up numbers.

Much of Baltimore is safe. The murders you hear about are mostly in certain areas and involve drugs, etc. Too much crime, no doubt, but there are very nice sections of the city.

The reason Baltimore is so violent is because the people who live there want it to be violent. I have lived in and around Baltimore my whole life, these people choose and prefer this way of life. I wont even go into the city anymore it's not worth the risk.

Is all of Baltimore violent or just certain neighborhoods? Are there any neighborhoods that are safe? I do agree that some communities are violent because people prefer that way of life. At the same time however, I do not believe that martial law is the answer. It would do more harm than good. There is no way to ensure that law enforcement won't commit any crimes. In many parts of the country, cops even come after law abiding citizens for calling them when they don't feel like doing anything.

Nonsense! The high crime areas are nowhere near the harbor or anywhere a tourist might accidentally roam.
All the crime is in poor neighborhoods and is between drugdealers. A person visiting Baltimore would never even come close to these neighborhoods unless the purposely sought them out. And would not experience crime unless they were walking around 2:00am in the morning counting their money next to an ATM.
