Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament was the victim of a violent robbery outside Southern Tracks Recording studios in Atlanta, where the band is recording their ninth studio album with producer Brendan O'Brien.

According to a police report, Ament and a band employee pulled up to the rear of the studio on the afternoon of April 27th when three assailants brandishing knives emerged from the woods wearing black masks, gloves and pants. The robbers smashed the windows of a rented Jeep and grabbed a BlackBerry before demanding more money. In total, the pair were robbed of $3,000 in cash and $4,320 worth of goods.

The bassist was chased and knocked to the ground, sustaining a head laceration which was treated by EMS. The attackers — who also stole Ament's passport — escaped into a waiting black Nissan Maxima. The incident was captured on a surveillance camera, but no arrests have been made. Pearl Jam declined to comment on the incident.

They have no authority to stop you from taking pictures especially when you on public property as you were on a sidewalk. Do I ever feel sorry for those people hoping Eddie will sign their stuff and thinking that he'll even hear anything they're saying to him. o yes, magical moment is the words. i talked to eddie outside of a boston hotel on riot act tour; had waited since 1994 to meet him..he knew the exact show i was talking about from back then. he made me wait-i mean literally asked me to wait while he had to go do something..& even looked back to make sure i was still there..he came back a few minutes later, we talked some more & he gave me a hug-and wouldn't let go. time stood still. he needs us as much as we need & want to be around him. magic.

There will ALWAYS be professional people trying for autographs to sell, especially here in LA. Most of these people in the video WERE Eddie/PJ fans fortunately, including me,(who made the video). I think that one of the right things to ask though is "Who are the stupid fans who BUY an autograph??"
