@ssaahhiill2687 The time varies for different digesters and the type of feed, it could range from a day to a week or two for different designs. However, it's important to remember the plant operates continuously, not in a batch process. So you put feed in continuously, and it overflows continuously. To keep it in the plant for the right length of time, you just need the plant size to be suitable for the rate at which you will be adding feed.
i dint understand that why biogas doesnot leak from the outlet,,,(from where we can gat fertilizer)..plz tell me...i think that if gas wud leak n blast will happen:)
plz tell me ...plz see 1:53.....why dont gas leak from there?
@ssaahhiill2687 The feed pipe connects to the bottom of the outer drum, which only has slurry in it. The gas is contained in the inner drum, and rises to the top where it is trapped. So, no leaks.
@ssaahhiill2687 the gas is lighter than slurry and most of the gases in the container, so it rises to the top of the containing chamber and is released under pressure when the valve is opened
Why is it priced so high? (Rs 10,000 plus) ..If you take the raw material costs and sum them up, it should be about 3 or 4k.. plus the return on investment for a small home (feeding food waste) is about 100g of gas.. enough to run for 20 mins... for 20 mins of gas everyday, to make up for 10K, it would take me ages..
Please let share the technlogy know-how and let people construct cheaper version of it. by the way.. why is every eco-friendly thing (like solar water heater) killingly expensive
The point one should understand is, these solutions are more for saving the conventional energy like the lpg, or thermal power etc. Cost can be recovered over long period, but it also takes care of power cut problem. Also this sort of solutions help in waste disposal. The govt gives subsidy for this sort of arrangements .
@harrislcy - Had I been a home owner, I would love to install a solution like this in my home, so that I could have the joyful experience of producing my OWN source of energy. I also like the concept of developing a relationship with local restaurants, so that I can help to collect food waste to use with the Biogas system.
This seems like a very feasible system for the Dharavi rehabilitation project. Somebody should contact Mukesh Mehta and the Maharashtra state government to implement this system in the Dharavi project. Thanks for posting this video.
Very cool. I really hope this takes off world wide. It seems like a simple process and it releases no major smell, which is probably the home owners main concern. Good Luck.
@PukkPukk - I agree with you on this note. It's such a blessing to see SOLUTIONS in place. The simplicity is part of why this technology is so amazing.
AWESOME

a lot of cool things are being done with biogas.
It can really change a village that doesn't have an electricla grid, and cook with wood or dung fires -inside the house!! but GMO's would suck.

is anyone could help me to get the detail of the system?

anamtamrin - check out the Ashden Awards website, full details of the system are there, including contact details for Biotech. Cheers, Mike

I have to admit I detest GMO's but THIS is appears to be a decent system. I'll give Biotech credit for this one
