I have a Whirlpool WHES30 softener that we just had a plumber install for us spring of 2010. Its been running great until last week. It was low on salt(below level 1) and I noticed the tank was 1/2 full of water. Normally, the water is only 2-3 inches in the bottom. But this was more like nearly 2 feet. I cleaned and checked the venturi, nozzle and the little hose attached to it and they were fine. I ran a regeneration twice..but it only keeps refilling with water. What now????
Hi, where does the water flow? does the water flow into the brine tank, or into drain? If it is the brine tank, then your float assembly is broken. If water is flowin to drain, then more details are needed like make, model. Most likely, there is debris in a jet or the seals and rings are bad. Professional systems can be rebuilt, but sometimes it is cheaper to replace the head. Float assemblies are inexpensive.
