This song was written by Michael A. Levine for that particular Cold Case episode. Allison Miller sounds like a professional musician on this one, and i was surprised to know she's not. Excellent performance. The way she played her character, on this very scene, reminds me so much of Nina Simone - the groovy way she talks, her relaxed posture and slow gesture while singing and speaking to the public in front of her - that's just so Nina! Perhaps she was her major inspiration, who knows.
