  • Companies have taken too narrow a definition of capitalism. Dapat nating hinahanap sa negosyo upang makatulong na malutas ang mahusay na problema sa mundo.

  • Capitalism???

  • your are expressionism stupid.

  • Capitalisms already benefit the society!

  • You are a paper tiger.

  • religion is making capitalism fall down, because religion dont help with economic recuperation.

  • Whole Foods sells a lifestyle, not food. They are taking advantage of a fad.

  • @rexxthunder absolutely. the only reason whole foods is flourishing is because more and more people are becoming conscious about the food they consume; the healthy type.

  • Leadership creates performance in people because it impacts willingness; it’s a matter of modeling, inspiring, and reinforcing. Check out slapCompany

  • It is quite easy to show that narrow self interest in a model where all actions are productive and non-destructive can lead to prosperity and wealth for all. The trouble is that the premise doesn't hold. People are willing to destroy property and even kill people if it serves their own narrow self interests. That is why regulation and policing is needed to keep capitalism at bay.

We need a new model where incentives lead to actual societal good, the current model relies on external factors.

  • Every person in his right mind knows that the current economic model is unsustainable, it ends either in environmental disaster or revolution.

The Zeitgeist documentary gives a radical solution which requires a violent revolution and gives no hints about how to manage the transition. It advocates absence of private property. Unthinkable!

Porter's reform is much more realistic and has the advantage of credibility vis-à-vis the current business elite. Spreading the message is our best contribution

  • I can accept that business is there to make a profit, my personal experience in business tells me so, but with the current global(not just US) crisis after crisis, banks bail out, inflation, deflation, the extreme wealth gap, all this goes on & on, governments fail at a lot of levels of response, it is not too much regulation but not enough regulation of the right kind to keep up with the current rapid changes of capitalism/globalisaiton.

  • Very original ,Drucker rehashed.

  • It is sad to realize this man has spent a lifetime of education to figure out what I said to my freinds after working in my first job for 2 weeks, in 1972. He uses so many buzz terms and and ends up saying what we all have understood as obvious, that capitalism is driven by greed and self interest, and we need to teach the humanities to those who control capital.

  • Want to spur economic growth and reduce unemployment without increasing the deficit? Talk to your local representative about lower our devastatingly high federal minimum wage today!

  • WTF? "rethinkin"? is "capitalism" no curse word anymore? i'm from east germany and we used to call it "imperialism" and "economic fascism". capitalism is the terminally illness to this planet.

  • @schubutz i think you need to pull your trousers up,your socialism is showing...

  • I can't believe how naive and "just fallen from a tree" this guy seems to me. He is soooo much polite with Businesses and "just" figured out how bad the Corporate Systems people like him helped to develop is breaking appart. Your School, dear arrogants, have created the kind of monsters that led the Business world to its current state of "Oh My".

You have to change your house before attemting to talk about anyone else. BTW, do you teach ethics and sustainability at all?????!!!!!

  • Private dictators attempt to perpetuate their corrupt system.

  • Rethink capitalism? ARE YOU FUCKING IDIOTS!?!??!?!?!!?! CAPITALISM IS ON THE PATH TO DESTROYING MANKIND!!!!!!!! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!??! ARE YOU THAT FUCKING DESPERATE TO FEEL SUPERIOR?!

    /watch?v=4Z9WVZddH9w

And learn EXACTLY Why you CAN'T "Reinvent it"

    Fucking asshole,

  • /watch?v=4Z9WVZddH9w

Watch Zeitgeist moving forward if you are starting to question capitalism and want to learn about a new social economic system that hasn't been tried before. A system that actually takes into account our human needs (food, water, shelter), the environment, and our resources all of which we desperately depend on for survival.

  • @IHighLikePlane its a flawed system, will never happen. stop watching propaganda.

  • watch Zeitgeist: Moving Forward, it's right in line with this video.

  • @pressureGM seen it, it's a propaganda video.

  • @leelomoe Call it propaganda but something along Zeitgeist lines is the next step; in the same way modern capitalism was century ago. Goal of economy is to reduce waste, increase efficiency and most importantly improve human lives. What we currently have is a mutant, transitional form which no longer serves its purpose and is rejecting to die in its time.

  • Wonderful ,loved the interview . Yes we are at the "Cross Road" of Capitalism.

"Profit" is not a dirty word, you need that before anythings comes , talk about the CSR on a broader way you need PROFIT first.

    Regards

    Deb.b

  • but, hey! My portfolio doesn't show how the hell I'm building a strategy with the farmers!!

Should I have listened to Mintzberg all these years? =(

  • Obama is a socialist (in fact I like it) so we didn't have to wait so long to see a change of strategy in business, education and even in the science. Unfortunately, it is sad that politics has an impact on business, education and even science (in the world scale). Politicians manage business, education, science and even who should get a Nobel and for what and who is wrong and who is not. Specialists in the field still don't have voting rights.

  • a little outdated.... (Nestle???)

  • It seems to me that value can only be crystalised if it is shared.

  • Sounds like socialistic views to me .. "make things fair" I always thought supply and demand was what kept a business running, not start a business to see how much you can give away or share... What is that? Maybe, I missed some key points here and someone could explain this in more detail..

  • @ijeffywall I think you if you have branded Porter's comments as wholly socialist you may have done unfairly. He says it seems to be that there is a modern trend of oppositing fronts of politics against business. Creating a situation whereby public policy is often sought to go against the natural flows of profit maximisation. Profit maxing has been publicied to eventually being best for society. Here he suggest it may also be that a focus on society could actually aid profit maximisation.

  • @firstspar I am just not getting that out of it. I do respect you elaborating and I do see some of what you are saying. I don't get his view. I am going to watch again later and see if I can get a different perspective

  • @ijeffywall I think the theory is about increasing the pie, not giving an equal piece to everyone. The rich get richer by improving the poor who in turn put more money back into the system and ultimately your business... I think.

  • @NoTalentGamer This is kinda how I felt, but the problem I see with this is people choose to buy things that business sale for whatever reason. With that being said people have a choice, they have a responsibility as well as business owners, we keep pushing more restrictions and expecting business to stay in the states did we not learn anything from the unions? What point is enough for the worker? I mean we all talk about how the rich just get richer and the poor get poorer

  • @ijeffywall but at what point is enough, enough? I would like to bill myself out @ 1000.00 an hour but if the company is only bringing in 10,000.00 and we have 6 other workers just like me .. at what point does the owner say ya know I am making less than the workers by the time the government puts all the regulations & taxes etc on me, plus taking all the risk, lawsuits, etc.. I guess my whole thing is here we have to ask why and put ourselves in the business owners shoes as well as the poor.

  • @ijeffywall If you care about a cause, instead of caring about profit, then you don't mind sacrificing personal income for the sake of your cause. Look at the sacrifices artists make, they starve for years and years and then MAYBE end up making money... and MAYBE becoming wealthy as a SIDE EFFECT.

Entrepreneurs want to make money, not promote their cause; this is the difference, and this is why a corporation doesn't have the option to consider it's employees, only the corporate self-interest.

  • Good thoughts. Hope they can be put to good use.

  • now you want to rethink what you've destroyed with your stupid theories?

  • @MilkDrinkerIntl Why are they stupid? I am asking people to help me understand where he is coming from and stating my opinion? So I am stupid because of this?

  • @ijeffywall I think MilkDrinkerIntl was refering to Porter's stupid theories, not yours! =D

  • @bundadebigode Oh lol Sorry MilkDrinkerIntl
