  • love all the books! hope there would be movie for it

  • if Peter Jackson directed these it would be great!

  • @xxFreeenchie I agree about the movie thing. At first I thought it would be amazing if they made a movie of these books, but then I realised that actually, one of the main reasons I love this series is the illustrations. They made a movie of Muddle Earth for Jackanory, and I'm not sure if it was really a success.

  • i love the edge chronicles, i've read them all more than once, in danish though, since i first read them when i was like.. 12.. (and im from denmark), so anything different would be weird... if they ever made these books in to movies it would suck, i think it would ruin the books and the story, some books are just meant to stay books and not made in to film..

  • I can almost guarantee that if the british make this into a movie, it will be good.

It wouldn't be ruined by the american hollywood and cheesy actors.

  • lol also quint was my favourite, seemed more like a real person, Twig my least favourite cause every book he seemed to kill his whole crew & crash his ship.No wonder he had to hire bears in the end.

  • @koopa64z I think Twig was the greatest character, he was mysterious, displaced and sly, much more realistic. Beyond the Deepwoods was a fantastic book, but I can;t say anymore, its been 6 years since I read it lol

  • wow, this is pretty much the only thing on youtube about the edge chronicles

  • I am a huge fan of the Edge! If they make a movie, I swear on Sanctaphrax, it will be a hit movie and be the new Harry Potter! Make a movie! In my opinion, the Edge books will still be printed in a century from now so why not make a movie?

P.S., my fave character in the whole series is a tie between Felix (Rooks friend and Varis Lodd's brother) and Cowlquape ( the academic who flew with Twig, sailed with Rook, and was held prisoner in the Tower of Night)

  • I love the edge chronicles, everytime I read it I let my imagination take over.

  • Just finished the Winter Knights. Good book.

  • I like Quint the most!

  • @Residentevil9975 You mean Cloud Wolf? They are one and the same you know.

  • @hinwer Yeah I know, I liked the name Quint more.

  • i think if they made the film right, british actors and a good director it would be a good film..........if only

  • The Edge Y R U so awesome...

  • If a film is made, then sky help us all

  • @Vito9251 Hahaha

  • goom, banderbear, and hubble own!!!!!!!!

  • @thecookiemonsta32 Oh me gawd, you didn't say Molleen, the old female or Wumeru, the young female. WHAT YOU GOT GAINS'T GIRL-BEARS?

  • immortals : ftw!

  • I love how Twig's actual name is 'Arborious Verginix', ARBOR as in tree, and he just so happened to say 'twig' as his name! XD

  • @MinecraftNirbil Yeah, ikr?

  • I met them at a book signing once.

  • my childhood :')

  • I DEMAND A MOVIE!

  • If they ever do make a film of this I hope they don't fuck it up by casting Americans that would be so depressing

  • movie anyone?

  • MIDLAKE!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm 18 and have fallen into these books. Now I'm on a pdf hunt...

  • The Edge Chronicles is literally the best series I have ever read (and I have pretty much cleared out the fantasy department)

  • i just finished the 6th book. SOOOO GOOD <3

  • MasterJahobo

It's at the end of freeglader. Twig is rook's grandfather. I would have never thought of it. Awesome books. I like the Rook trilogy the best, my favorite book is Vox so far, I am in the middle of Freeglader. Quint trilogy is kinda boring. After Freeglader the drawings in the next books are boring, not really looking forward to reading them. But I WILL. Stupid skycrafts. HIHIHI.

  • Easily my favorite book series of all time. I loved Clash of the Sky Galleons.

  • I read this when i was 11, and redwall lol and harry potter

  • Twig sequence is my fave ones.(the only ones i've kept) I'm in my thirties and got into reading them after reading Harry Potter. I've read Twig twice and when i've finished the Immortals (which I'm on now) I'm going to read Twig again. Briiliant!!!

  • This among my favourite, if not my favourite book series ever

  • My favorite series!

  • The edge chronicles are my 2nd favorite series next to harry potter The best character is twig.

  • This series is so sad. I've read the entire thing and virtually none of the characters escapes with a happy ending. But they're still amazing books, just prepare to be extremely depressed, especially after finishing the last one, The Immortals.

  • @clamzcoolio Actually, I believe that the series just symbolizes life and it's challenges. Who is your fave book 1 character?

  • best books i've ever read i love them to bits

  • it is the story of a whole family... i cant remember what book it was but it has the family tree of them all at the end and they all tie together

  • I readed the first 3 books not knowing thera are more!

  • @RolfFishMan yeah theres like 10 and it ends with the giganto book, The Immortals.

  • Why does 3 end ok, then 4 just skips to something else!

  • @TheGamersRooms it the edge chronicle soo it like a movie to a sequel to a prequel to a sequel to the prequel and after u read all it finally makes sense i love the story

  • @TheGamersRooms The book series is separated through trilogies so the end of book 3 was the end of Twig's trilogy.

  • Yep, The edge chronicles books are epic! I'm a great fan of the books, so i can't wait for a movie to come out!

  • I've been reading these books since I 8, and I'm 15 and still love them. I wish you'd write more of them I really do. The entire world just sucks you in.

  • i want to kno why no ones atempted to make a blockbuster film of the twig books like an animated film ive bin dreaming about the idea for days because i re-read the books and its just shameful how no one picked up on making it it would be a masterpiece i reckon :(

  • i read beyond the deepwoods when i was about 7 or 8... i never remembered the end, just remembered loving it... came back as an adult and just realised how truley amazing these books are! there should be no age limit to imagination!

  • My library put the entire Edge Chronicles in the little kids book section. The Edge Chronicles is NOT for kids! People get very violently killed in the Edge Chronicles, and the library actually thinks that's appropriate for kids?! BULLSHIT!

  • @pikmin257 IKR?!? It's more of young adult book.

  • I love this series, but not nearly as good a Harry Potter.

  • the sanctaphrax from Chris' first map is way better than it is now

  • Been reading these books for 10 years, seriously they're on par with Harry Potter. And the illustrations are unmatched.

  • I'm 14 and I started reading this since some time last year.I hope if there is a movie I hope that Tim Burton does it.

  • Yup, computer animation. I hope its not goin' to be like the Lighting Thief, horrible plot line and doesnt follow along with the book at all

  • @kangjoshua5 IKR? Computer animation is also more popular so it would also draw in more crowds. Who is your fave Twig trilogy character?

  • screw Sky scholarship! Earth scholarship is where it's at! :D

  • @pikmin257 Yeah, Sky scholarship died with Sanctaphrax! But for some reason, the Earth scholars still like to remark ''Earth and Sky''.

  • man, i have to write a thank you letter to my 4th grade teacher, she gave me the first book on the last day of my fourth grade year, and this is one of thhe best book series i have ever read! by the way, i am far past 4th grade by now

  • The level of immersion I get from this series is incredible. I read the first 6 books then stopped and I recently re-discovered the the books and I just finished The Winter Knights. I'd rather they didn't make this into a movie, due to all the crappy directors floating around.

  • @pigofthehouse Though if they do, computer animation is the way to go, in my opinion.

  • for every brilliant book, theres a rubbish movie either made or in creation. i do enjoy the lord of the rings though.

  • for every brilliant book, theres a rubbish movie either made or in creation.

  • am nearly 19, and love these. theyre inspired. Give me more!!! love the blood oaks, want a fantasic creation.

  • 2 people got eaten by wig wigs

  • @ShadesBl lol or killed by shrykes

  • these are two coolest guys in all world

  • my absolute favorite books!

    i LOVE them!!

  • when i first read beyond the dark woods (at age 11) the first thing i thought was they should turn this into a movie!!!!

  • @blinkvirus deep woods

  • i can't believe they haven't even considered making this into a movie! They gave that stinking Twilight a chance when it wasn't even inventive!!

  • @link0zeldarulz89 IKR dood?

  • im 12 and i'm on book 6: Vox in the Edge Chronicles and every single book that i have read in the edge chronicles series are absolutely amazing. the drawings are very detailed and are just astonishing. and the way everything is worded, the adventures that the main characters go on, weather it is Twig, or Quint, or Rook, it makes me feel as if i am traveling alongside them. the Edge Chronicles is the best series of books i have ever read.

  • @mehnyeh Yeah, Vox is my fave book cuz I luv the Hestera Spikesap character!

  • First read 'Beyond the Deepwoods' when I was 10, and now I'm 17 and I just finished the 'The Immortals'. And I'm still dying to read more! It's the sheer brilliance of this entire world which keeps me wanting more. I wish that they would keep writing, I want to find out what's below the Edge!

  • i loves this books and Paul Stewart have a imagination and Chris Riddell have a talent awesome creative and adventure fun and very very awesome

  • AWESOME BOOKS

  • i love this books is so fantasy and adventure

  • Love Ridell's style...

  • Does anyone find it strange that most of the heroines in the books have names that start with M. (Magda Burlix (Rook Series) Maris Pallitax (Quint Series) Maugin (Twig Series)

  • I remember reading these books in 6th grade. Sadly, I haven't even seen one since.

  • Edge Chronicles are awesome.

When are the digital animation / role-playing gamebook / computer game coming out?

  • I can't seem to find the U.S. edition of the tenth book in any bookstore =/

  • best series ever

  • the first edge book i read was the curse of the gloamglozer. i thought it was the first then i found out that beyond the deepwoods was the first. should i continue reading the quint trilogy or should i go back and start on the the first book.

  • @72Roo67 The story makes more sense if you start with quint, but you lose some of the mystery

  • Beyond The Deepwoods was the best one easily.

  • Is there a tenth book?

  • Sure! It's called The Immortals and it closes the three trilogies! There is also The Lost Barkscrolls, that is a book with four Edge tales.

  • yeah! i love the books too=) i'm currently reading the "Midnight Over Sanstaphrax" =)

got to have to other series too=)

  • What part of the book are you currently reading?

  • @soyblondy

I'm at the 14th chapter "Into the Great Shryke Slave Market"

I love the story and as an illustrator, I love the illustrations too, in fact, a while ago, I bought Chris Riddell's "The Vinci Cod and other Illustrations for unwritten books"

hahaha! it's awesome, I love the humor of this illustrator=)

  • love these books

  • twig is the best charicture appart from the glaomglozer

  • gosh they kinda ruined it for me at the end im on book two and they told me that at book three sancaphrax finally floats away

  • Comment removed

  • Rook is Quint's great grandson. or maybe just grandson, its one of those...

  • @polariceit no there wont. there's to much water under the bridge with barnaby grime, and anyway, they are writing the immortals

  • all the Characters are connected some how, like Quint is Twigs father, and I have not found out how Rook is connected with them yet...

  • Rook is Twig's grandson.

Twig had a daughter called Keris, and she married Tem Barkwater's nephew.

  • Well, there's the

    Twig trilogy,

    the Rook triology,

    the Quint triology, the Immortals, The Lost Barkscrolls which includes "Cloud Wolf", "The Stone Pilot", "The Slaughterers Quest" and "The Blooding of Rufus Filatine";

    And The Edge Chronicles Maps

    :D xxxx

  • Yer i guess... xD

  • Best book series ever

    Im almost finished the immortals

    Moar books plox xD

  • I will turn nineteen in a month and a week, started reading these series back when I was fourteen - they have lost nothing of their charm and marvel. Hopefully I can lay my eager paws on the books I miss soon.

A movie about the Edge would be great, but you would have to ask yourself whether it would be better if it were animated, or if a "real" movie could be made without spoiling it.

Oh, and a full flora and fauna guide to the Edge, like the Edge Maps book would be my dearest wish.

  • I just finished 'The Immortals'.

theres one very BAD thing in it:

the book does indeed have a "final page" :P

  • Edge chronicles rules!!!!!!!

  • I wish I could draw like Mr. Chris Riddell..:(

    Hi Chris this is Paul.

    What do you want?

    Yes, lovebale as ever...

  • I'm 16 years old and I just started reading the series, and it's awesome!!!! LITERALLY!!!

People who didn't read it yet should really give it a try... it's filled with never ending suspense....

  • Agreed. I was about 12 when I first started and now I am 19! I love this series! Its one my favourite. My other two are Diskworld and Wheel of Time Series. Love them.

  • i have the curse of glaomglozer..

  • i liked the hoverworm in the first book :) now I'm starting the fourth, curse of the gloamglozer

  • gloamglozer is the first

  • nooooooo beyond the deepwoods is the first. curse of the gloamglozer is the first that has quint as the main charecter

  • deepwoods is first written 3rd in storyline

  • no..... what makes you think that?

  • quint is twigs father

  • again, where did you hear that??

  • ive read the books reread them youll find it they left him in the woods

  • cause not to be rude, but read the damn books before you say no

  • im reading midnigt over sanctaphrax at the mo.

  • im 17 I've been reading this since i was 14 and I still love it. I don't know what it is about it it just draws you in.If they ever make a movie I hope Tim Burton makes it or peter jackson.

  • @skrpirate Really thumbs up for Tim Burton, I really love his dark movie style and it would fit great together cause the characters they use and also the creatures are both kinda strange. They really should make a movie about it!!

  • @skrpirate Same dude, it would be the greatest movie ever.

  • @skrpirate a movie would be nice, and yes, when i found out about the tenth book i couldnt help but to wait for it. a year and a half XD

  • i so agree, talking to my freinds at school about it.

  • long live New Santaphrax!!

  • i read book 1 and 2

  • who is the main character in book 10. is it Twig, Rook, Quint, or a new character

  • A new character Nate, but don't worry, most of the dangling plot threads are sorted out in this last story.

And the last illustration in the series ever was stunning. (UK readers will back me up on this)
