  • I had always thought that the shoulders and neck are where all the emotions get stuck. But when you mentioned about the hips bottling up emotions it all made sense to me since after practicing hip openers I felt sick, specifically, had a bad case of vertigo. Do you think these hip openers were cleaning me up resulting in these symtoms? What other yoga poses are so powerful that one can come away feeling ill?

  • Esther........I live in San Diego, CA and am using your beginner videos everyday now as a part of my everyday routine to improve my overall health. I feel so relaxed with your voice and great smile! I danced for many years and even found your beginner videos wonderful for keeping my flexibility in line. BTW.........I am of dutch decent as well..........Rusthoven is my last name.........hehe!!!

  • OMG I need to take yoga. I am not flexible = not good for my body

  • hips are probably one of the best spots you can start then. At least that is how it was in my case.

    I was unable to make any kind of significant progress in flexibility until I "opened" my hips. Once I worked on that I could feel significant benefits all the way to my feet. I wish you luck and stick with it!

    Yoga will help problems you didn't even know you had until they are gone! ; )

  • This video helped me a lot. At only 19 my hips are extremeley tight, most likely because I stopped playing volleyball.

    I feel myself becoming more flexible.

  • I was feeling very emotional before doing this exercise... I had a fight with my mother (who is my best friend) and am having a hard time with infertility today. But when I did these poses I felt calmer and even laughed when I saw Spooky getting curious!
