this actually went in the goal (watch the shadow), but 2010 it was in by much further. The thing is with 2010 game though is that the referee nor the linesmen saw it go in. The game isn't media controlled and was a mistake.
England nowadays are too vain and think they're movie-stars, pump themselves up to be something great and almighty but then get raped by nearly every team they play against. It's ok to support a group even if they are rubbish, afterall it beats supporting them who always win
ohh...you sir don't know anything about football... This goal being allowed totally changed the outcome of the game. Had the goal been disallowed, there is no saying that the 4th goal would've been possible. cmon... lets not be stupid now.
"The underside of the bar against- the underside of the bar against- the underside of the bar against- the underside of the bar against- the underside of the bar against- the underside of the bar against- the underside of the bar against..."
I'm glad the goal was allowed, for obvious reasons, but it has never looked to me as though the whole of the ball was behind the goal line. It should have been disallowed I suspect, but would have required a very brave decision from the referee...!
No goal here. Lampard's obviously was a goal and that it was missed was a terrible call. That this was called a goal is certainly controversial since it literally decided the World Cup, but it was close enough so that I can see how it could have been ruled a goal. Lampard's 2010 goal was simply missed - it was over the line by at least a foot or more...
play the 16th second over and over again. keep your eye on the spot where the ball hits the ground. now as you play it over and over, notice the ball is never on the left side on the line but slightly on the right. keep the focus on the spot when the ball hits the ground on the line. it was 100% a goal. if you argue that the trajectory of the ball shows it didnt cross the line, lampards goal had the ball moving in a similar pattern. accept the truth. we accept the 4-1 recent loss
lol all the germans are going karma!!! the only differnce is in 1966 it was the final of the world cup that ref got england the cup ;) u only beat england and ur so called karma in then last 16 xD germany wont win xD
@quickscopemadness Can you remember me of something ? How many times did England win the world cup ? And Germany ? How many ? I think we still beat your asses, 3 x 1. thats what matters
C'mon. There's no comparing this to the one today. 1966 is hard to tell, even in slow-mo. The one today was ridiculous. In any case, I believe benefit of the doubt should go to attackers. Makes for a better game.
However, it just goes to show how hard it is to tell what is going on from the ref's point of view. He doesn't have 87 camera angles and the leisure to review every close call for 44 years.
Well... obviously the commentator couldn't just say that this was an incorrect decision, since considering how "patriotic" England is, he would get into too much trouble.
That's also why they didn't show this angle...
watch?v=HeXWEVXhdUo&feature=related
But, I don't really blame the referee. From a different angle this might look like the ball really was in.

it was clearly a goal since the other player from England who is closer to the ball didn't kick the ball, since he saw that it was already in.

1. It was in
2. Nobody would care if that goal was ruled out. because we won by 2 goals.

Ironic that this was counted as a goal when it wasn't, and then over 40 years later Lampards goal didn't count when it actually was.
Perhaps the ref in the 2010 game between Germany & England decided to avenge Germany's defeat in this game and not count Lampards

if that can be given as a goal even though it didn't cross the line surely Frank Lampard's should have been given

I am English and this was NOT a goal. It only partially crossed the line.

@Nihilanth1982
The rules are that the ball must be entirely over the line. If it touches the line even partially its not a goal. That was 100% not a goal.

But today, it's clearly in and England clearly got hosed. Poor Lampard. His cheerful eyes turned into shock and confusion instantly.

it isn´t a goal. the slow motion stops, when the ball wasn´t on ground at all, so the perspective is distorted

Its a goal you have to look at when it hits the bar and when it hits the line hard to give but a goal is certain
