Every Dogshit beginner guitar player who has about 4 months experience under their belt thinks John Frusciante is God... He isnt... Dave Shits down his autistic little throat. Frusciante is one of the WORST improvisors i have ever seen live (3 times in fact).
John can outplay Dave in Dave's own style of music, aka Shredding and running through scales. Fortunately for us, John plays his emotions, which makes for a hell of a lot better of a player. Which is why John ranks 18 on Rolling Stone's Top (He pioneered his style of music, and people like Navarro wish they were as talented.)
Go check out any of the many John Frusciante Solo videos on here, every one of them will kick the shit out of any of Daves.
dave is a really good guitarist, so is fruciante, but replacing john with navarro would be a mistake i think. styles dont match at all with the chilis. one hot minute was the worst chilis album IMO
Musically Dave has more creativity and expression than Frusciante has. There's more there for me in Navarro than Frusciante. But that's just in my opinion, I feel Navarro gives more.

The difference is, Slash's playing is so much more melodic than Dave's, listen to Slash's solos and you'll hear "flow",Dave navarro's solos are just that solos that sound like scales and lots of effects!

i don't like Navarro at all. I can say that he is attractive though (in my opinion). Of course someone can't compare Dave to John. Frusciante is the BEST.
Frusciante's got nothing on Navaro, maybe one album 'BSSM'. Otherwise, 'One Hot Minute', is by far the second-best, if not the best Chilis album- definitely their most artistic statement. Not to mention Dave's work with JA.
OHM is not the best, but a fantastic one nonetheless. I listened to it the other day (for the nth time) and realized that for at least, every other RHCP album is quite funky, but this is like a religious experience lol

Hendrix, Satriani, Vaughn. Frusciante is the runner up, in time perhaps he will supplant Vaughn but only cuz Stevie was short changed.

Frusciante's got nothing on Navaro, maybe one album 'BSSM'. Otherwise, 'One Hot Minute', is by far the second-best, if not the best Chilis album- definitely their most artistic statement. Not to mention Dave's work with JA.

He is not crazy. One Hot Minute is the best RHCP album. Frusciante was good in BSSM. That´s it.

OHM is not the best, but a fantastic one nonetheless. I listened to it the other day (for the nth time) and realized that for at least, every other RHCP album is quite funky, but this is like a religious experience lol
Oh and actually I love Frusciante in Mother's Milk

Every RHCP album is just as good as the last. Because they were evolving and changing. Why compare their albums and guitarists. ITS THE CHILI PEPPERS, JUST ENJOY IT.

its not the rhcp is it in OHM, its a completely different sound, that i reckon for the majority is shit. claifornication is amazing, btw is amazing and so is stadium.

You are ignorant. I could have made your point better than you did. Have you even heard John's two best albums, BSSM and Mother's Milk? I didn't think I liked OHM at first. But that was before I listened to it. I love it now. No, Dave doesn't fit with the other three as well as John does, but OHM has a lot of awesome music which you haven't even heard because it is stuff you "reckon for the majority is shit."
I wouldn't say BTW is in the top 3 RHCP albums, but Californication and Stadium are.

as a fellow RHCP fan and Frusciante worshipper I say this to you chrysa,
you have an opinion but there's no need to bash Dave here when clearly it's full of Dave fans. I like frusciante better but OHM was a good album and Walkabout, Aeroplane, and Shallow Be Thy Game are some damn good songs

haha, I can't believe how ignorant some people are. Just because Navarro doesn't rip it up on CD's doesn't mean he can't. CLEARLY, he can. Dave got the RHCP job because he could do everything John did PLUS he brought flavor to the band. John's a good guitarist as well but Dave has nothing to prove. He's got the money and secure ego to not have to tarnish his reputation by doing what, unfortunately, so many people in the industry consider horrible and that is shred. BBF rules, btw. =)

Atually, i dont think Dave would have got near the Chili's if John hadn't gone a bit mental at the time. But both good guitarists. I love his early work with JA but in my HONEST opinion OHM was pretty bad. i just prefer the funk.

It would be unfair to compare Dave Navarro to John Fruscante. Fruscante is the clear winner. However Bumblefoot is my favourite. LOOK HIM UP!
