What is your opinion based on? Have you used the N97? I have, and you can't even compare it with the iPhone 3G. The best part of N97 is the hardware (except iPhone has a better display technology, capacitive). The software (S60 Fifth edition) is not that amazing, definitely not comparable with iPhone OS.

(Please note: I haven't used iPhone 3GS, only the original iPhone, and even it beats the Nokias.)

Even the iPhone 3G has a lot better processor than N5800/N97.

Apple is way ahead.
