  • Don't be gay I had three beers, and a cocktail whilst on them. I felt fine. dont be so gay

  • I am on Flagyl and had a margarita but didnt puke. But i did get some stomach pains.

  • So from me and the other comments, it seems it is not so rare as scientists seem, and the original scientific stance on this was correct. I've done other research on the net, and it seems far from rare. I guess I should be grateful I had no other symptons like headache, stomache cramps, not even nausea. I had no warning at all. Just seemed to spurt out and straight up towards ceiling walls like a burst maine. lol

  • ..an instant. No real warning. No pains, cramps, headaches or nausea. Just a wet mess everywhere. Needless to say, I didn't finish the wine. Later on in the night I took my night tablet. Now its morning and no more problems. I will definitely wait the week out and not take wine again. I learned my lesson. Lol :(

  • It happened to me last night. I vwas prescribed Metronidazole3x day for a bad tooth abscess. I'm a big wine drinker, and I had researched the medication as soon as I got home and new this was a possibility. Anyway, decided to skip night-time tablet. Had 2 glasses of wine. (I know, I know) Big mistake. Took a couple of panadols, gagged, ran for the bathroom and all over the wall, bath mat, seat. Luckily mainly clear liquid. I didn't feel sick at all beforehand, or after. It just happened in...

  • I took a weeks course of metronidazole and left it around 18 hours before drinking. It is the worst i have ever felt. I went light headed straight away, have very little memory of the night but was told I was the drunkest person my mates had ever seen. I projectile vomited all over my bathroom and felt sick, headache, dizzy for 3 days. I will never do that again, ever!

  • Thanks for the advice. I'm also from Oklahoma and yes you do talk a little fast. Anyway - I hate Flagyl. I drank a few beers while on it once and had heart palpitations, flushing, headache..horrible. Wish my health care provider and/or pharmacist warned me against it. Just tried taking it again (sans alcohol) and it gives me horrible headache, neck ache, metallic taste in my mouth, depersonalization and stomach upset. Never taking it again.

  • I couldn't understand one thing you said. Are you from California? You talk way too fast!!!!! I'm from Oklahoma. So I cant keep up with californians.

  • I drank beer while on Flagyl. I ignored the warning label. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO SICK IN MY LIFE. PROJECTILE VOMITING, MIGRAINE. Please listen to this..

  • I have a question regarding alcohol and fragyl...

I was on fragyl for a day and took 6 pills - and now it´s been 52 hours since I stopped eating them. Is it safe for me to drink alcohol now? Im an otherwise healthy male, 25 years old. Hope someone can help - Thanks in advance :)

  • @Kultlederen Hi! Were you prescribed Flagyl for just one day? Yes. You should be fine, as long as it has been 48 hours since taking the last pill.

  • Is it really necessary to take ten days of this med? I was put on it with cipro for ten days following an appendectomy. My appendix didn't rupture but a follow up scan revealed something that may be an abscess. They weren't sure, said there was a 30 percent chance it was. I've been too afraid to drink alcohol with this!

  • Aaaawwww, I was watching this video hoping to watch someone take flagyl and throw up. lol

  • Im trying to take this stuff now but have nausea and neck pain

  • alot of people take flagyl to get rid of blastocystis if you have blastocystis its best not to drink it creats an alcohol intolorince and increases head aches brain fog depersonalisation and sleep disterbences and stay away from weed when you have this to it increases the strange and scary sensations you feel when you have this superbug

  • I don't drink but with Flagyl I couldn't support it in any way. I had headaches, brain fog, and the feeling of vomiting as well as vomiting. I suffered so much and I don't drink and have never drank. But I still had a VERY strong reaction to the point of crying from the painful headache.

  • Thanks again for your advice. I cautiously drank 2 beers. No problem.

  • Hello! I am psyched that you did not projectile vomit...I started asking around. In my personal experience only 2 people that I know vomited because of the interaction. I still don't think I'd risk it...the fewer times I have to projectile vomit the better :)

  • Hey! I am glad that you didn't projectile vomit! :) The interaction is a possibility that I wouldn't knowingly risk but the truth is there are only a few reported cases of it.

  • i drank 3 pints when i was on this, i take lansoprazole metronidazole and amoxicillen. i remembered afterwards i wasnt supposed to drink on them and got really worried. strange though because i was fine and nothing happened. ? .
