The contact list to make calls that he showed looks like an application i had that landscape view without doing anything to your phone all you have to do is download it. it not an auto rotate feature is just a way to view the contacts on your phone. the app is called "phonebook" go to the market on your g1.

You have to have ROOT ACCESS to your phone to get this... Once you have root access, you can do some other shit to get auto rotate...

Google ROOT ACCESS FOR G1 and find out how if you want to...

Current G1's are currently running RC30 which can not be rooted ( hacked ). The program demonstrated in the video are for users who are running a hacked version of RC09. Wait for the cupcake update like the rest of us bro haha

i put all the programs on the phone but i couldnt get it to run...added the android program, then downloaded the rc30 program and saved it on the sd card. i followed the directions to load it and it still didnt work....can anyone help?

Hey theirs a software out on market that lets you do autorotate. Its called tweek tools, but you have to get the update RC30, you can just type it in google and find out how to get it..enjoy

U have to have root access first of all. So if you updated to RC 30 u r screwed unless u updated to the jailbroken version.

Google was stupid not to release the auto-rotate option in the settings.

There is an auto-rotate in the SDK to enable any application to do this fairly easily. I wouldn't say this is a major breakthrough since Google put the option in there for any developer. Personally I'm glad they implemented this level of abstraction instead of having a global option, I don't want my display to auto-rotate if the content doesn't suit it.

You don't need to have the keyboard open to view websites in landscape, there's an option in the menu to flip orientation.
