That makes sense to me because i think doing crunches makes the fat hard and its harder to get rid of it.
I like this workout. I find that this works your legs and your abdominal area at the same time. I've been looking for something to replace crunches because i hate crunches.....and i recently found out that they only work after you already have a flat stomach. I'm going to add this to my workout list, thanks for sharing Scott.

that area is called the "apollo's belt" sometimes the "adonis belt" - lower ab exercises and very low bodyfat are the key to revealing the belt...

In physical therapy I am working with such a ball. A therapist can jump rope on the ball!
I'll never be able to do this exercise, but you demonstrate it well.
