  • hey man u did a very good job but....

    1) your equipment should never be on the outside. it must always be on the inside so no one can see it. it makes u look that much more professional. and tuck in the shirt as well

    2) i know it is hard but stay in your set position as the ball is comming in, you will get to see it better as opposed to standing up all the time and moving away. it is hard when the kids r so little but u will get used to it

all in all you did a good job fir your first time

  • 1. this is common for little league regular games.

once the tournament start to happen , they be dress official.

    2. you got to understand and read the video before commenting. its a common thing to move out of the way when the ball coming, the other thing is its his first game

  • Put an arm or fit over the family jewels.

  • Thanks everyone for the positive comments. Braeden attends an umpire clinic for real training this spring and is looking forward to getting behind the plate.

  • I just started umpiring at the age of 15 and try to stay in there I know the catchers arnt good but you wear that protection gear for a reason good luck in your future as an umpire..

  • one rule alot of litte leauge voulnteer get wrong. your young so your still learning.

is a foultip that is nick b the bat and the chatcher catches it. its alive ball in play. if hte catcher dosent catch its foulball in dead ball.

    tricky one

the other one is that remember no such as tie goes to the runner. you do these rules correct you will be far more advance than alot of umps.

  • Hey looking good at your age.. how old are you 13? I started at 13, but I used a balloon then. haha

Anyway, you're starting to develop some plate mechanics, but just remember when the batter swings and misses just signal the strike. Also to remember to call out the count every couple pitches.

When you get old enough start attending some classes for local organizations, you'll learn a lot. :)

Good luck, you'll be great at it if you're interested in it now!

  • Thanks for the encouragement. Waiting for it to get warm again!

  • Keep it up, kid. The world needs more good umpires, and if you're interested in it at your age, you'll do very well as you get older, and have the opportunity to get more and more training.

  • Aww that's cute

  • the catcher is almost taller than him
