P.S. This guy is a scab. Gives real roof maintenance company's a bad rap. Wouldn't be surprised if he has his machine on the roof because of not enough hose...BUAHAHAHA...I have actually seen that before! lol
He may be a painter, but I doubt it. He is deffinatly no pressure washer. I agree with some others before me. NEVER Pressure wash a shingled roof. Chemicals only and rinse with low pressure like a garden hose. Only use a spray nozzle on wide if you absolutely have to, to get water to the area to rinse.
Pressure washing will not destroy your roof if you have a low pressure high water volume machine. Moss on the other hand will destroy your roof. If you keep your roof treated for moss you will never have to worry about washing it. Straight bleach will kill all moss on your roof on contact. I have been cleaning and installing roofs for twenty five years and I have never destroyed any roof by washing it.
Absolutely agree with PDUB. Don't use a pressure washer on a roof. I do pressure washing myself. To clean roofs we use a chemical solution and then rinse off with a water hose.
@viper12138 Have you ever used a low pressure high volume machine? 1600 psi at 10 GPM to be more precise. Not like most noobs running 4000 psi at 3 GPM. There are pros...and cons...in the business. Hire a pro.
People, DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT USE A PRESSURE WASHER ON SHINGLES!!!! This method will take years off of your roof!!! Let a true expert do this type of work ,look in the yellow pages under roof cleaning make sure the contractor uses low or no pressure methods. Guy B
