  • i thimnk most people that hate toyotas have seen only the corolla and camry. come on guys, check out the other toyotas, suchj as the 2000GT and the celica.

  • "it'l buff out" LOL

  • Skubaniec wiecznie żywy :D

  • Toyota = biggest recall ever!!!

Old engineering ,low quality and very ignorant fans !!!

  • Oh you're talking about the floor mat gas pedal thing? yes, it did affect a wide range of models.. and was a spectacular blunder.. However, it should be noted that prior to that recall, Toyota was never even in the top ten of large recalls (mostly dominated by ford and chevy)... But old engineering, low quality?... I think you need to check again on who's ignorant..

  • who says you cant buy a cheap car and expect it to run forever?

  • yoder all the way..... i love my 89 4runner

  • Toyota Designed and Engineered in JAPAN !

  • did they not sit this truck on top of a building when it was demolished?

  • The one thing they didnt try was drive it into water while engine was running, we would see then if it could be destroyed or not.

  • cant beat da good toyota's;)

  • anyone know the song from 00:35+ please?

  • fake, diesel engine cant start after being under water

  • Wrong, I'm a mechanic. As long as no water got into the cylinders it would start.

This is known as hydrolocking, and generally will result in busted rods / bearings. I've taken my '89 Toyota with a solid axle swap, 9" liff, 35's, locked and re geared through water up past the hood and it was fine.

  • im sure you are like im a rocket scientist. :D No machine would start again if it was running when going through water, or if it did it wouldnt last long.

  • Snorkel.

  • I'm no rocket scientist, but I've got years of mechanical experience over you, guaranteed. Even a few Milliliters of water will crack your block and bend rods and trash your wrist pins. It's pretty god damn hard to fake a motor going into the water and then it starting back up right away with just a few combination wrenches. It can be done, I've seen it done, I've done it myself. Look up what we wheel through on Vancouver Island.

  • And even if any water got into the engine and they knew about it, they could never get all of the water out without removing the head.

  • I made the mistake of buying Dodge... a 2007 Dodge RAM 1500 4x4. Never again! It only had 61,000 miles on it and it has been in the shop a total of 162 days so far. It's really good at one thing... breaking down!!

Next time I'm buying a Toyota!

  • I to have Dodge issues. I had a 1989 Toyota pickup with a solid axle swap, 9" lift and 35" TSL tires, locked and re geared diffs... I sold it and got a Dodge Neon.

It eats 4.3L of oil per month through the PCV valve and into the intake manifold, and the control arm bushings are fucked.

  • Japonese Tecnology is other history

  • ...Just a stupid waist of Money and senseless Polution.

  • Comment removed

  • my firend has a hilux (05) and it is a nimble little truck

  • Discuss about this car in V6wall com ;)

  • i use to own a 92 Toyota p/u and and 86 nissan p/u i drove them both up to 350xxx miles before they both gave their last run this year... needless to say both were under 1500 bucks and gave me 11 and 13 years of service, they just dont make them like they use too. buying another toyota soon though

  • i gotta say kinda pointless you coule prolly do the same things with another vehicle, and the comment about the wrecking ball is not pertinent because it barely hit the car

  • It's a wrecking ball, there's no such thing as "barely hit." F=ma, you don't need a lot of inertia for something so massive to inflict great damage.

And no, another car couldn't come close to enduring what a Toyota truck can be put through.

  • if you look at other wrecking ball things they are moving faster, also it hits it in the back oh no body damage wont affect it, also it was a sticky collision which reduces kinetic energy so less damage, (btw inertia = massXvelocity)

how do you know no other car is as good as toyota? its never really been tested has it?

i know some trucks that can take a beating and that might be able to take this test (that is with the expert mechanic they had)

  • We aren't talking about inertia though, we're talking about force exerted. With such a massive object, you require very little acceleration to exert a great quantity of force.

And yes, you can do plenty of damage if you hit the rear end, they ended up cracking the chassis and it still drove. Don't try to play it down. The thing was blown up and fell 240ft onto concrete and lived to drive away.

There's a reason why expeditions to the harshest regions on earth choose Toyota, there's no equal.

  • I rather enjoy all the comments on this video that cobble together pieces of their High School physics to explain what's happening.

Looking at this first page, we're at 0/4 accurate uses of physics.

  • you could run it over in your with your fag truck and tell people how big your dick is all day, but its not gunna die and your dick is still gunna be small

  • Go and play with your big-wheel fag boy.

  • Douche.

It survived a 240 ft drop onto concrete after being detonated and was buried under a couple tons of concrete... I'm sure your Chevy shit-box would really do a lot to it.

How's your small-penis overcompensation syndrome going?

  • bwahahaaa! My Uncle drove an F250 for well over 500,000 miles, much of that while towing heavy loads.

The transmission gave out at 200K something, though this is expected when towing heavy loads. The replacement transmission lasted him till he decided to get a new Ford.

He's a retired truck driver, so he knows better than most how to tow and drive a truck of any kind, but Ford's are still the pinnacle of trucks. It's really no question.

  • I would rather take the shoe lace express than ride than ride in a ford.

  • Congratulations. What about the Ford Raptor though?

  • Ford raptor? little more than a shameless marketing ploy... seems like it worked pretty well though, got you talking about it eh?

  • Everything is a marketing ploy when it comes to the automotive industry, hell, industry period. Your comment is just asinine.

The Ford Raptor is one of a kind, you only dog it because it is Ford. Nothing comes close to it and I do not believe any other manufacturer could pull it off so well.

    Did you have a point?

  • Any company could produce a truck like the raptor. Its just some aftermarket parts and a few design changes. Only ford owners are stupid enough to spend that much money on an impractical truck that is gay any ways.

  • "gay"? So that makes you about 16?

Only Ford's chassis is capable of such a thing. The Tundra is a fat POS that turns worse and has less stability than any other vehicle in its class. That's quantifiable buddy.

In any case, not "any company" other than Ford makes such a vehicle, so your argument is well, that of a 16 year old.

  • And 'dude', it costs the same as a well-equipped Tundra will cost you, if not less.

  • Wow, you're yet another brainwashed Ford fanboy to the fullest. Ford consistently scores at the bottom of all car tests along with Jeep, they're famous for shitty cars which are constantly being recalled. Ever since the late 60s every American car (with the rare exception of an occasional diamond) has been pure festering garbage.

And no, not everything is a marketing ploy. The best cars never need commercials. When's the last Toyota Land Cruiser or Ferrari ad?

  • I wasn't really dogging it, though it is a bit flashy (and overhyped) for my taste, it's not a bad truck. It was you, come on a toyota video comment bar talkin' all yer ford fanboy trash. Yes Toyota tundra vs ford F-150 is tough choice.. However, let us compare Toyota tacoma (hilux) to a ford ranger... nuff' said. You are not doing Ford any favors by acting like an assfanboy mtb416.. I hope you know that.

  • It is no less flashy than a 911 GT3, a car Jeremy absolutely loves, and it is even less practical than a truck running 44" tires. As for overhyped, it's literally a first to provide a pre-runner ready truck meant to jumped. Not sure how you overhype that.

The Tacoma is not the Hilux. Keep wishing though. Ford Ranger's are the premiere homebuilt pre-runner chassis actually. But who cares about 1/4 pickups anyway?

This was entertaining though. Tundra's are still fat POS. Not real trucks.

  • It's not a Land Cruiser and never will be. Jeep s are utter crap-mobiles, and I'd much rather have a Jeep than that Ford POS...

... and for anyone claiming that buying Ford is American. Henry Ford was a prominent member of the Nazi Party and vicious racial bigot towards Jews, that's about as un-American as one can get. I can see why the uneducated, middle-America, hill-billy portion of this country is so into Ford. Notice how many Ford commercials you see; more ads equals a crappier product.

  • LMFAO!!!!

  • rally that thing man

  • this is the 4 cylinder 22re

  • my dads toyota pickup is 2 years older than that one lol. its in way better shape tho

  • i have a 90 v6 4runner and its comes up with a diferent problem weekly, so i try to take care of it as if it were made of glass but alas it fails yet again. spent more on repairs than what it cost me. never buying a toyota again!

  • hahahahaha

  • It's not the Toyota that didn't die, it's the diesel. ;)

  • No, gas engine Land Cruisers fair just as well.

  • Okay, so the driver of this truck is putting the this truck through it's paces trying to destroy it.... No doubt that toyota is an excellent buy but still having doubts that this is actually true....

This may indeed be a one of a kind truck , but not all of them are the same....

  • I LOVE TOP GEAR!

  • my yota died all by its self

  • this is class stuff

  • toyota= recall king of the world.

  • only Toyota America did those recalls you are thinking about. They want to save money and labor just over little things. Toyota Japan is the real reliable leader.

  • carmo- Toyota has recalled 470,000 vehicles in Japan in one recall of many in 2007. Although none were exported, the news comes on the heels of Consumer Reports bumping the automaker from its top reliability spot just yesterday. The recall is due to engine, steering and motor problems and covers several models.

It boggles my mind how some don't get it about toyota. It's funny and sick how some around the world whore themselves for Cause toyota.

  • ok. but they are good tho. My dad said they used to be really good, now they are not as good as before, but still good.

  • that was hilarious,i love top gear

  • whats the soundrack in the background

  • Love the name!

  • knights of cydonia by muse

  • It needs an alignment hahah actually it did you could see it while he was driving it at the begining

  • nelly furtado can eat my shorts dude, i have a prettier behind than jesus himself

  • Is the HiLux the same as the Tacoma ?

  • no way.. it's technology is more complicated and the hole car is different

  • what a waist of a nice camper

  • i know a fair few people who own hilux's, including myself and i only know of one of them who has ever written off a lux. no word of a lie he had a head on with another hilux. only way to kill a toyota is with another toyota.... my '85 lux with 380k on it has broken down once in the 6 years ive had it due to a ratshit alternator. if you look after these things they're indestructible

  • they are definetly tough trucks, but my friends had to be left behind on our last camping trip, blew the tranny into 5,000 peices, killed it on a rock my chevy walked over like it wasen't even there, oh and the chev drove home under its own power, none the less they are great little trucks.

  • cool pickup

  • u just got owned ----- shame

  • gotta love your toyota

  • cool Toyota

  • Does anybody know the song that starst at 4:50?

  • i wish he'd done the same thing with soviet cars. soviet cars would win.

  • トヨタのエンジンって本当に頑丈なんだね・・・

  • whatt is the song at the start? pleasee :P

  • The mechanic is the man

  • VERASFORZZA

You my friend are the most complete and biggest LOSER that the world has ever known. To any one else that thinks this guy is full of shit check out his year long rant against everybody and him trying to prove how "great he is" Search for ferrari enzo vs camaro and check out his comments there.

This dude is seriously a DOUCHEBAG

  • yeah...right...

  • Buying a Toyota tomorrow! How well they do not have anything smarter to work, where to spend money than buying a car and destroy them for fun ... We drive them until they die or we or the car :-)

  • Kupujem toyotu sutra !

Kako je njima dobro, nemaju pametnija posla ni gde pare da trose nego kupuju auta i unistavaju ih radi zabave... Mi ih vozimo dok ne umremo ili mi ili auto :-)

  • I dont care what anyone says, Ill take my tacoma over any shitty jeep. Who went bankrupt chrysler thats it cuz the build shitty cars

  • now I wouldn't say they build all shitty cars. Jeeps are decent but yeah I would take a Toyota any day. Wish there were more diesels here in the states though.

  • XD dork on the garage door:P

  • yes they did

  • no they didn't

  • they dint really burn it

  • hahaha jebote !!! TOYOTA !!! ludi japanci !!

  • ovi nisu normalni, stvarno nemaju milosti

  • veras- HAHAHAHA!

That's THEE funniest one of all your childish rants. You have a degree in psychology from Yale? I didn't know that there were computer games in which one could play "I've got a degree!"

Get real boy. Toyota has had problems for a long time. From engine sludge buildup to the point of ceasing the engine to the now very serious problem of covering up a scandal in which toyota buyers are dying in high speed crashes due to faulting wiring only to blame it on floor mats.

  • engine sludge can be built up because of poor owner maintenance

  • Are the new hiluxes so reliable/tough as this old one.

  • It had a roll cage tho

  • thats a ladder rack most utes / pickups in Australia has them. You can tell by the pegs at each side of it

  • No, that's a roll bar, HUGE difference.

  • wow 13 years old and it looks like shit, the owner of that didnt know how to take car of it. I know a guy who has a 93 hilux and it looks like new

  • GO HONDA GO

  • stupid English.....

  • Fuck off!

  • you're too stupid

  • Me Like, I mean't I like Nissan ! ! !

  • erm, mate the only thing toyota is king at are recalls. buyers of toyota are suing the bloody company because of a cover up scandal by the top japanese executives at toyota. they tried to blame horrible high speed crashes resulting in deaths on bloody floor mats. bloody well good excuse that, however the actual problem with toyota vehicles is problematic foot pedals with faulty wiring.that is the cover up.blame it on floor mats because it sounds less of a quality problem. toyota is overrated.

  • zombie toyota

  • quux!! Britons must have dubious sexual intercourse. Sucks!!

  • lol american trucks suck

  • North American trucks are ranked higher that j-trucks.

  • Depends on what your purpose is. When it comes to 4x4 ability, reliability, ruggedness, longevity, fuel economy, options, warranty, overall cost to own after initial purchase and everything else except fitting in in a "Red State" and hauling an RV or a bunch of logs... Toyota and Nissan are king.

  • So all of what you listed and toyota and nissan still list below Ford,Chevy and Dodge.

Hmm, must be nice to look at the charts upside down like you do. Your brain has rotted like the japanese.

  • What? Are you talking about Toyotas?

Dude, the average Toyota truck lasts 200K+ miles, the average Land Cruiser lasts more than 300K miles, compare that to 50K for a Jeep and most other American builds.

They get the best mileage of any 4x4; my FJ Cruiser got 25mpg stock and up to 33mpg with about $700 worth of mods driving on the freeway. I now average 30 with huge 35" tires and 505hp. Most TLC's aren't this good, but they're mpg rating is still 2x better than a POS H2 or other American 4x4.

  • I have two Jeeps...

Wrangler has 167k on it, and it runs just like it did the day it came off the factory assembly line.

Cherokee has 101k on it, looks brand new, and runs again, just as good as it did the day it left the factory.

  • Yeah, well the difference is that a Toyota is a good car when you buy one new.

    If a car is a half-ass american it's gonna stay as a half-ass american.

  • well the drop was the most intense part... on most cars that wouldve annihilated the suspension, popped of the tires, and possibly broken the engine mounts. The sea water couldve jacked up the electrical as well.. all in all I was surprised the car could run or really even move at all.

  • Not even Chuck Norris can break it.

  • if the engine is not damage, it will work, all he did was damage the shell.

  • I love TOYOTA!

All my cars had been a TOYOTA and I never had a bad experience.

But, then I live in CANADA...no one can easily BUG the car as in USA

  • Cool story bro.

  • @ Jayded

You dont consider putting it onto a god knows how many stories building and blowing it up as major?

  • toyota barely entered the full size truck line. Before that toyotas couldnt haul for shit. no construction workers used them to haul heavy things like packs of shingles, heavy lumber or steel beams. you know who used toyotas pool boys, pizza delivery kids and gardeners.

  • The Japanese make great quality cars thats for sure!

  • The japanese make a few good quality cars and that's about it. I would NEVER even consider buying a Daihatsu (toyota company btw) or a Mitsubishi or Isuzu or Mazda. The only decent makers are Nissan, Honda and Toyota and even in those companies they makes some questionable vehicles, so let's keep it real. A few j-automakers make a few good quality cars.

  • NO, several Japanese auto-makers make some of the best cars in their class, and in more than a handful of cases, the best cars ever. Toyota is the best vehicle in the history of the auto industry all things being considered.

You also totally forgot about Subaru. I own a Litchfield STI, and I've owned a regular STI. Name me another car that costs $35K, extremely reliable, 24mpg, 300hp/300torque, 0-62 in 4.6s (faster than most Ferrari) & is a world champion rally car (in other words very tough).

  • Best cars ever? Whoops that's an overstatement if I ever heard one. Sorry to rain on your japanophile parade but the js never have made the "best cars". I don't even know what that means. So a little shit box Daihatsu is better than a Bentley? WTF are you saying? The Buick LaCrosse is better than the Lexus. Oops. Cadillac ranks THE SAME as Lexus. Oops. If some toyotas were so good why are some models discontinued? As I said. Most j-makers make sub-par autos, that's the reality.

  • -You most certainly referred to japanese cars as a whole.

-Wow. you "own" that many cars? Sure, right.

  • verasforzza

We almost missed you-I tried to post on the other video but I must be maxed out--- they will not let me.

  • how about you make a vid id love to see some of the exotic cars you collect and you $12,000,000 house

  • land cruisers go anywhere? not where i take my truck haha

  • if you go to bristol make sure you put lip balm on ur ass.. it keeps the chaps away

  • We have a Toyota and I have to say the thing is impressive. The truck just doesn't die. It's more than 10 years old, no oil change in almost a year, suffered a broken drive shaft, we use it all the time, travels around 20 km everyday, haul a lot of heavy things in it, goes to places it's not suppose to go, and the thing just keeps on going.

  • Toyota makes the best cars in the world. Quality tops all other brands, indeed

  • i have a toyota tocoma, 212 thousand miles and runs like new. they are the best :D

  • I just got a 1982 and it has 240k+. still runs amazing.

  • mines only a 98' at 212k+ we drive the crap out of it LOL

  • Hi, can you tell me what model/chassis number this is? I've always wanted one of these.

    Thanks!

  • It's a Hilux, the modern version looks really awesome. In America it's known as the Tacoma with a few modifications, but essentially the same vehicle. The chassis is the same one used on the FJ Cruiser (world's best 4x4) and the FJ120 Prado (European Land Cruiser). All three are basically the same platform vehicle; the Hilux stems from the FJ45, it's a Land Cruiser in a truck body. The Prado is the more luxurious Land Cruiser, and the FJ Cruiser is the ultimate modular 4x4... all excellent 4x4s.

  • put my jeep through this shit a few times. it may not be pretty, but damn i love it!!!!!

  • Lies.

  • no i haven't blown a building up under it or set it on fire, but it has been submerged, mowed down trees, been rolled, and been had it's share of dings, but i haven't had a better 4x4

  • You won't even get 100K miles out of a shit-box Ford, let alone the 200K miles on this truck, let alone survive after being put through what this Toyota endures... and this is only part one of this series. In part 2 they sit it on a 240ft tall concrete building, then blow the building up. It falls 240ft surrounded by 1000lb chunks of concrete also falling 240ft. They pull it out, tighten a few things, and drive away. People like to pretend that Jeep or whatever can handle the same stuff... NO.

  • cool down man,

its all just personal opinion lol

and if you cant get 100k out of ANY car it doesn't deserve to be be in production lmao thats just sad

  • I'm not riled up, & I totally agree if you can't get 100K miles out of a car then it shouldn't be in production; unfortunately that means almost every American car shouldn't exist. Jeeps are one of the worst with an average lifespan of less than 50K miles, that's unbelievably pathetic. Idiots still buy them and think they're invincible off-road machines. Thanks to this business model of "build world's shittyest cars for cheap, but claim they're really tough" has given us the failure of US auto.

  • lmao dang man,

to be honest ive never actually owned an american car so for all I know what your saying could be completely true. I can vouch for honda though, their life savers =D

  • Just read any 4x4 magazine that isn't biased towards Jeep or Consumer Reports, Car & Driver, etc... they all rate Jeep at the bottom of all SUV/4x4's every single year in every category. Toyota (specifically the new FJ Cruiser) is always first with the bigger Land Cruiser, the Tacoma, and the 4 Runner coming in a close 2nd-4th.

I don't know where you live, but when you drive around, notice haw you never see Jeeps on the road older than about 10 years. You do see tons of 20-30 year old Toyota's.

  • lmao so true,I really dont see jeeps anymore I was actually just thinking about that a few days ago

  • And not only do you see way more older model Toyota Land Cruisers, but they are quite valuable vehicles. A heavily used stock FJ with 200,000 miles and in good working/aesthetic condition will run $15,000-$20,000 easily and they're going up in value. One in excellent condition with all sorts of 4x4 upgrades, modern interior and good paint job/no rust will easily run $40,000-$60,000...mint classic American Muscle cars of the same year often don't fetch as much. Now compare that to a new POS Jeep.

  • Land Cruisers are overrated. The funny thing is I live in japan and I see A LOT of those POS Jeeps. Jeeps are a very popular vehicle in japan.

    You were saying now?

  • TLC's AREN'T overrated, I own a customized Unimog and I'd still take one of my custom Land Cruisers in most situations.

Jeeps are only somewhat common in Japan for two reasons. 1st, Japanese are OBSESSED with American culture. 2nd, we have trade agreements with Japan, they buy a bunch of our shitty Jeeps as part of a sweet deal for us where we buy a bunch of their Toyota, Subaru, Honda, etc. There also isn't a lot of real 4x4'ing in Japan, they just drive on the streets, so a Jeep is fine.

  • veras- I've been living in japan for 22 years. I know the japanese and japan VERY well. Have you even been to japan even on a short vacation?, and don't tell me about, "Well, I've read this and I've read that and I've watched this and I've watched that. " crap. Unless you lived in a country for an lengthy period of time you have NO idea of what you are talking about. -Um, the js ARE NOT OBSESSED with Yank culture. Sorry to burst your bubble. -If Jeeps were crappy the js wouldn't buy them.

  • I've been to Japan at least 10 times. I have friends there, I've climber Mt Fuji 3 times, my wife lived there for 2 years and speaks fluent Japanese, I've lived there for 6 months and I'm learning Japanese, and now one of my cousins just got married to a Japanese girl so we'll visit even more often. I know what I'm talking about.

  • Wow. You've visited and lived in japan for 6 months? Well gosh, that is almost exactly like living in japan for 22 years like have. You must know a whole hell of a lot about japan then by golly.

You know what the js want you to know. That's all you know. I just love watching in horror the js make fools out of newbies like you. They got japanophiles like you wrapped around their selfish little fingers like nobodies business.

Your mind is owned by the js and it is pitiful to watch.

  • -Ooooooo so six whole months in japan makes you an expert eh? Well gosh golly gee that's almost the same as the 22 years of me living in japan. Yer gosh darn tootin' right lil' feller. (eyes rolling)

-So you have an exceptionally high IQ? You sure fooled me.

-You're an explorer? Sounds like Mommy and Daddy set up a real nice back yard jungle gym for you.

You childish quips remind me of Calvin that cartoon strip in some newspapers.

You are a prime example of why the US is falling apart.

  • and get into arguments on youtube, apparently.

  • computer games don't count.

  • but yet you spend your time on YouTube commenting about how great you are? Granted, I'm on YouTube also but I don't claim to be an arrogant know it all like you...

  • You know nothing of the trade agreements between your country and japan. The US wanted to rebuild japan as soon as possible after the war because the threat of communism was too great for the US so your country wanted to rebuild japan ASAP to show them how beneficial capitalism could be. Trade was (and STILL is) pretty much a one way street with japan. They would export their crap to the US and you poor bastards felt obligated to but their crap up. The js put a lot of money into R&D since then.

  • Um, there is "real" 4x4ing in japan, but hey, since you've visited japan nearly a dozen times you should know everything.

You should get real with the Jeep thing. Jeeps are urban cars and they suite the japanese family just fine in japan's urban settings. Jeeps have a lifetime guarantee on the drivetrain even something the japanese makers don't even offer.

  • your a dumb ass there arent many jeeps that have less than 100,000 miles, i know one with 180k and my cherokee has 176k
