Thanks for recording the tour Brad. Unlike some more douchey folks, I appreciate that you took this extra step so you could share it with us. I guess some people don't quite get the newsPAPER versus TV thing but I didn't want you to think that we were all ungrateful jackasses.
I couldn't have possibly been aware of the financial limitations placed on you by your employer. You (sarcastically) mentioned that the "newspaper industry is rolling in dough." I don't believe that this video was in the newspaper; it was on the internet. I'm sorry you paid too much for your phone but who's fault is that? High-end video equipment is not necessary for what you were trying to do but if the product is poor or sub-standard then just don't post it.
Although it is possible there is something wrong with my computer, I really doubt it in this case. Virtually all other videos on YouTube seem to come through fine at about half volume. I *could* hear what I can only assume was your own voice when you made comments during the clip; probably because the microphone was obviously closer to you than it was to the guy that was speaking in most of the last part of the video. (continued in next comment due to space limitations)
Video of some guy flapping his gums and waving his arms from the 55 second mark to the end. CANNOT hear what he's saying with the volume turned all the way up. You are supposed to be a professional journalist; come better prepared with more than a cell phone to record video and audio. If you're going to record 2:27 seconds of nothing but someone talking, at least make it so that we can hear what he's saying.
@phredphantom I could hear it just fine, so perhaps there is something wrong with your computer.
And yeah, sure, I'll just go out and expense a top-end video camera. The Journal would approve that, I'm sure, because the newspaper industry is rolling in dough. I should do that instead of using my own personal camera phone that I paid way too much for, and that way maybe I won't have to spend so much extra time working on the video so I can get home to my family sooner. So unprofessional of me.
