  • i've got whole series on dvd- but nice to watch on here too. The footage makes you feel like your actually there. Glad i wasn't though.

  • If anybody accomplished such successes in as fast as six years after wretched socioeconomic conditions that ravaged Germany after the war-- they would be an unquestioned demagogue too. Look if FDR can rule for an incredible sixteen years while not directly impacting economic development, draggin Americans to fight and he was so revered

    Imagine Hitler

Intl. community is so dumb, why have Polish Corridor and East Prussia? Pick one and get rid of the other!

Hitler starts anyway WWII but still..

  • You are still believing the 'Hitler Myth'

    Economic miracle? No.

Recovery by creating a war economy and not paying the reparations. Ive studied this at university and it so wrong it makes kittens cry. Read books not websites, i recomend Ian Kershaw, widely regarded and the authority on Hitler

  • FDR didn't drag anyone. The US was attacked by Japan and had war declared on it by Germany. You obviously are pro-Hitler, which is unfortunate for you.

  • Germany was Totally Bankrupt in the early 1930s.

So the question is asked how is it possible in a few short years. Hitler managed to build from scratch such a large Professional and Well Equipped good enough to Conquer large land mass of the world in a short time. The answer Hitler had Powerful Secret Backers.

I am talking about the Powerful International Bankers sitting in London and New York that created and funded Adolph Hitler and his Military Machine.

  • No that's not true.

Hitler made his cash in 1933 when he starred in a silent film called "Adolf Goes Ape". It was a huge success in Europe. I'm suprised you didn't know that. You know the one - it's the movie where Hitler switches bodies with his pet monkey. It's hilarious, but also sad. The bit where monkey Hitler is lonely in the zoo is a tearjerker. And Hitler wasn't that bad an actor actually. Shame the war got in the way - he could of been big in Hollywood.

    This documentary rules.

  • Indeed! Antony C sutton; wall street and Hitler. American and European banking and industrial elite financed and helped rebuild Nazi Germany and intended to install a similar political system in the US. Major General Smedley Butler was pinched to replace Roosevelt and most intellectual elite in the US were admirer of Nazism and socialism. As a matter of fact, Hitler segregation system was already in practice in the US with the KKK and mass racism against blacks, catholics and others.

  • wtf?!?!?!

    KKK and nazis WERE catholics

oh my there are really stupid people in this world

  • The KKK was anti-Catholic!

You may be confusing the "Knights of Columbus" with the "Knights of the Ku Klux Klan" In any case, you need to know more before you call others stupid.

You might want to read up on "Germany" while you are at it. In Germany 26.5 million are Protestants (32.3%) and 25.5 million are Catholics (31.0%) - Hitler & Naziism "created" Germany from a wide variety of factions.

Have you ever heard the phrase: "The pot calling the kettle black"? Read up on that too.

  • INCREDIBLE DOCUMENTARY thanks so much.

    .

  • But lets not forget that the KKK is now a sect of the Christian church. Now they are legal and once again Christianity proves its racist bigotry

  • @historyvideos101 Don't confuse him with the facts.

  • >> robertronics heard of Martin Luther, yeah he was German.

Catholics in Germany are in the south, and Nazism wanted to received as a religion in itself, people got remarried under Nazi rituals.

And KKK were leading fascist of AMERICA!!!! In America we hate Catholics!!! Dagos, and micks are not looked favorably on.

  • yeah Hitler was fond of industrialism, banking etc. Many incredibly rich lived happily in Germany, if they were received well by Hitler.

Hitler had no problem with international banking but tied it to a elaborate scheme by jews using contradicting methods of banking and communism to achieve their aims of power. The very workings of banking never bothered him.

Give credit to the organizational genius of Nazis to put Germany on a path to great successes, and yes followed by a horrific demise...

  • Russia violated Poland and those 3 free countries, yet no one went to war against them. Poland took a sizeable amount of Czech territory yet no one went to war against them. Also those actions were before Germany even annexed Austria. So this war wasn't started by Hitler, he just took advantage of pre-UN conditions just like everyone else. Only thing is our UN is unable to stop another WW, because it has no backbone, just like then when Russia and Poland violated Czech sovereignty.

  • There was ongoing war after 1918. WWI did not end fights as you know in 1920 Poland was struggling against Bolsheviks. In fact no one cared about treaties. When Russia violated Czech territory? You mean Czechoslovakia right? And Germany did start war Poland and Russia taking chunks of other countries did not trigger the chain reaction which was WWII.

  • Man those squares of German soldiers are impressive on the fool Hitlers birthday ... and yes very good narration.

  • sounds familiar. Opression of the German minority by Poland. Just like the Georgia- Russia war.

  • History repeats itself over and over...

  • "Those who do not remember the past are condemned to relive it" --George Santayana

  • no it doesnt...thats why they call it history

  • This quote was being used by many wise men in books and speeches. It doesn't mean exactly the same but similar stuff happens. Just look at Napoleon and Hitler attacking Russia. Both ended the same way for same reasons.

  • Superb narration from Lawrence Olivier!

Oh and how about the propaganda by the Nazi Media a bit like Fox News and the BBC in 2008 especially their disgraceful coverage of the sneak attack by georgia and their anti russian bias. Danzig indeed again in 2008.

  • How Can You Compare Fox News to the B.B.C. The BBC is respected worldwide because it's anything but like Fox. It was the BBC that Broadcast the war News throughout the World. In Germany it was death to listen to it. The BBC was more impartial during the war than Fox ever was. You Must be thinking of Channel 4 - Now that's a biased Channel for you.

  • What Age Are You Kid? I Mean Realy? Because If Your Older Than 12 then you have some REALY BAD EMOTIONAL PROBLEMS. Just Look Back at what you wrote. I'll let the readers of your last sentence judge for themselves what you just said

  • You are absolutely correct re: Fox. Fox CANNOT be compared to the BBC in any way.

FOX is a media whore that sold itself out to the extremist right wing in the US. It was nothing else but Bush's 'Ministry of Propaganda'.

    Google:

How Much Was Fox Paid to Shill Bush's War Crime in Iraq?

  • people that burns books later will burn people....

  • Thanks for posting this doc! And I'm always glad to see intelligent, respectful, mature conversations. Like the one on this forum. They are rare on youtube.

  • Anyone know what that piece of music is at the start? Wagner? If so, which opera..?

This is a great documentary. Some of the footage is incredible.

  • I've been asking that question for a long time...it sounds like Wagner or Richard Strauss but can't place the piece.

  • The music is by an American composer called Carl Davis from Brooklyn NY.

  • It really sounds like Bruckner - or an excellent impression of his work.

  • Found it - the end of Bruckner's Fifth Symphony.

  • Thank you, I shall have to see if I can find a copy of that, i haven't really come much further than Elgar when listening to classical music.

  • No worries.

You can find it on You Tube - search for Bruckner 5 - it's the end of the 4th movement.

  • Heehee, I never thought of that! I suppose in the very near future it will be unusual not to find what you are looking for on You Tube, if not already!

  • Was it any wonder Germans were going to take Danzig? The allies stuck their heads in the sand every time Hitler flinched - signed a non-aggression pact with the USSR. Hitler must've, by then, believed in his own invincibility. Had the allies not disarmed after WW1 and had a bit more spine, things may (or may not) have turned out different.

  • The allies defiantly had their heads in the sand. Appeasement was clearly not a good idea. As for not disarming after WWI, I don't know. I think it makes sense to disarm after the end of the war. Otherwise you end up with a dangerous "military industrial complex" like we have in the states today.

  • I beliaeve appeasment was very unwise, although i do sympathise. Chamberlaind had witnessed the horrors of world war one and was in no rush to see them again. From a certain point of veiw versailles was unjust, especially Article 231 (War guilt clause) as Germany was not responsible for the start of WW1. Also, Britain and France wanted a strong buffer to counter the new communist threat from Russia, and Germany was the perfect ally. However, Hitler should have been stopped in the Rhineland.

  • As long as people believe in absurdities they will continue to commit atrocities.

    Voltaire

  • Is it any surpise nazis deny the holocaust and other attorcities..they lied from the beginning nazism was built upon lies..

  • I dont agree here, the nazi's didnt lie about the holocaust they just kept it a screct, but the Neu-Nazis of today do. And I really think people who deny the holocaust is just as crazy as those extreme nazis under the war.

  • good point

  • Holocaust denial is a pathology, like sadism or blind hatred.
