  • the best way to actually get a talent agent is to send them what she said plus a ticket to your performance. agents get hundreds of letter every week & its very slim to pick you if they dont watch you perform

  • @MzVanessaz Absolutely. They've actually got to see you in something!

  • How can you get headshots and experience before contacting an agency? I've been an extra in independant films and in some student films....does that count as experience??

  • @MeaghanandSamantha Definitely! Anything that keeps you actively acting and training is building experience. You don't need professional headshots when applying to an agency but your agent can't start sending you out to auditions until you have them.

  • Sometimes you can email. I got my agent through emailing, some agents don't mind emailing. Usually it will state whether they'd prefer you didn't, depending on where you're getting their contact information from (Actors yearbook, Contacts, websites etc)

  • @jacktee5 Yeah it does depend, but if it's not already specified writing over emailing is better.

  • Did u become even more hotter than be4?

  • Exactly what i was thinking. Lol

Can't wait for your next video. ^^

By the way, I might start making videos soon on another channel I'll let you know when I start.

  • i think with all these reality show contests american idol, x factor etc, the winner has already been picked out even far before the auditions. its just a way for record companies to promote their already signed talent, making it appear they actually had a contest and this person won fair and square. its a joke all the other contestants were real(maybe) but the winner was already fixed to win way before the season even started.hahhhaahaha

  • Hi this is a bit out of the blue but, because you live in England like me I'm wondering if you watch "Great Movie Mistakes" because your into directing in that part I just think that it would be good for you to watch it and see what can go wrong :)

  • @Enchantelover247 Tehe, when you're a film student like me you notice mistakes constantly! :D

  • I don't have any illusions about those contest shows, I live in Hollywood. ;) (no seriously, it's weird living out here.)

But this brings up another question: How can a contestant on one of those talent shows control their own PR and public image, if at all? Do they sign all of that away?

  • @nicopolitan Good point - with the case of the UK X factor popular/winning contestants do as Simon Cowell tells them and I highly doubt that they have much control until they get to Leona Lewis level! I suppose it comes with signing on to the show itself ...

  • Very insightful. I almost auditioned for America's Got Talent out of desparation for work. Glad I didn't tho.

  • @ElanaVital83 Glad you didn't too, but I can see the appeal should one be in a tricky spot.

  • Soo true! A friend of mine attented the Norwegians has taltent competiton. He sung, and he is a really good singer so he went through to the next round. Later that day he got a call, telling him he wasn't through after all because they were not interested in more singers....

  • i don't watch TV, talentless shows and reality rubbish all day long, also the BBC n ITV don't tell us what is really going on, they just use propaganda for their corporate sponsors interests

  • @MorpheusWasRight Yes I kind of agree with you there.... honestly, been looking into it lots and it's all very eye opening.

  • @MorpheusWasRight Morpheus? Small world.

  • @ChuckyBlackheart guess so loooool

  • It's an ingenious idea, regardless of what rubbish it is, because it frees the executives in the music industry from having to risk anything - by the time they have their winner, they already know that any music produced by this person will sell well. That doesn't mean that it's good, it just means that people will buy it.

  • @l0gically Absolutely, very well said.

  • I had a friend turned away from one of the shows (I believe it was Idol) because they told her she didn't have a good enough story.

  • As far as music goes, I feel like anyone who would want to be on one of these shows isn't actually interested in music at all. If you enjoy making music, you don't go on TV. You go on TV to get famous. If people like making music, then there is nothing stopping them from doing it. No one who is actually passionate about music as an art form would bother trying to get on a show like this.

  • Psh, you don't have to tell me that video content can be contrived. I'm a vlogger!

  • @thepeteris Ha!

  • Of course you can become a star through the X Factor - just expect to fit the mould of a mainstream pop artist who will make Simon Cowell lots of money, don't epect to make anything original and expect to be dropped like a bowling ball when all fails :) x

  • @eddiemarriott Haha! So very unfortunately true.

  • Have you ever auditioned for game of thrones?

  • @wendilili .... Nope, why?

  • i totally agree, its what vive been saying to my friends for ages but they just dont see past what the company shows them

  • @BrennanEatsClouds Quite, as soon as you start looking into how productions are made you realise audiences assume things too easily... drill it in to your friends! :P
