I remember when I was younger, I was die hard Kagome fan. As I grew older and watched the anime from a mature perspective, I love Kikyo more than Kagome, Kagome now annoys me.. Maybe its because Kikyo seemed more human than the rest of them. Her reactions, her feelings, would remind one of a strong woman going through tragedy but trying their hardest to keep their head above water. She was a real woman. :3 <3

Though I hate this anime, I still believe that Kikyou was the strongest character in it. Lonely, betrayed, heart broken, she still kept going, kept fighting, kept helping people, even though all she wanted to do was be free of her overwhelming responsibilities and live a normal life with the one she loved. She grew, she changed, and she did more plot related things then the entire cast. She and Kagura were the best characters in this show, and that's why it was so heartbreaking to see them go.

Wow, just beautiful. I LOVED Kikyo. I really did not understand why everyone hated her. They just didn't understand what she had to go through. She was a strong woman, was willing to do anything. Espically in the Final Act. I cried so hard on her death, and i'll miss her dearly. <3
Kikyo may have died alone again but at least she knows the truth...As much as I cried my eyes out when she died I'm glad she finally learned the truth and that she will always be loved not by just Inu-Yasha but her sister and the children who look up to her.
It makes me sad that she never once smiled to herself. But I'm glad she at the very least can finally rest in peace knowing very well that she is loved by others and that she won't be forgotten

The only reason y Kikio's mean to Kagome is cause Kagome is hurting her not intentionally by falling in love with Inuyasha... Just think for a min u love a guy and do nothing but love him and he loves u back, then another guy tricks the both of u into death ... confused u come back to life to settle things right then u find ur replacement...

Kikyo is my absolute favourite character in Inuyasha...there are thousands of reasons, but I just like her and I understand her feelings....I don't think that she's a bitch or something, she just makes what every woman does, she loves........She is just a human, you can't be angry with her, if she hates Inuyasha, because she thinks, he tried to kill her...... I like many of the characters, of course :D . Kikyo can be mean sometimes, but I understand what you think about Kikyo. Kikyo may not be MY favorite character, but I like her in a good amount of ways. She and Kagome do have some qualities that are completely alike (many are shown in the final act). This is my favorite anime. ^_^

Kikyo, on the other hand, is a strong, independent female.She doesn't get hurt easily, and the way she takes out demons is just incredible.
You know.. It really doesn't matter between the two.. Kagome is the reincarnation of Kikyo which means there both the same.. If he goes with Kikyo he's still technically with both because they both share the same soul and compassion for him. @keys3on3bold i think that they could've make it out, but since kagome was there and were the reincarnation of kikyo, it's hard for inuyasha to decide. otherwise, inuyasha would've go with her into hell easily without realizing that kikyo didn't know the truth. even after kikyo realize the truth, inuyasha still deny her offer to go with her into the afterlife in his dream, which i don't understand his part. kikyo offer him to go with her maybe an asshole like said.

Kikyo was a good person. People will insist they hate her because she's "perfect" or "selfish", but I don't think that's true. Takahashi gave her faults too, but it wasn't that she was evil. The thing that keeps me personally from fully respecting Kikyo is her arrogance, which sometimes lead her to make bad decisions. My favorite thing about her is her sense of duty, and her desire to conquer evil and preserve good.
@daniel1010861 I disagree with you there. Kikyo is too smart to just be confused by death. When she came back, she believed she was stronger, "free to hate, and free to love." But she is smart enough to overestimate or underestimate herself and others. She's calculating, but sometime she misses the big picture. Get what I'm saying?
@daniel1010861 It didn't mess with her head, Takahashi-sensei would have said so if it did. What happened to her is she became "locked" in time. From the moment Naraku struck to the moment her soul left her body, her soul was not able to move past that point. It made her angry, sad, and bent on revenge, but it didn't change her personality. Even before she died, Kikyo made mistakes in her life--underestimating Onigumo, trying to be perfect, ect. Don't forget, her misjudgment had a handinherdeath

@daniel1010861 She did feel sorry for him, but she wasn't blind. She knew Onigumo was scum and knew he was attracted to her. But she nursed him anyway, because she thought he wouldn't be able to harm anyone anymore. Have you ever noticed that Kikyo is scary good at predicting what's going to happen next? She usually can guess what people are going to do because she's very good at reading souls. And yes, Takahashi blatantly said that Kikyo's soul would never move on while she was tied to earth.
@daniel1010861 She had no real respect for Onigumo, but he was human and (she thought) harmless, so she took pity on him. Also, she misjudged the jewel. I don't think she knew it had a will of its own (but I don't think anyone knew that). In other words, wishing for Inuyasha to be human would not have purified the jewel. In the end, the jewel never intended to grant them their wish, and instead became the trigger of her tragedy.
@daniel1010861 Don't worry about Kikyo though. Inuyasha will come to save her one last time, and Kikyo will finally feel like she is an ordinary woman, so her soul will find peace.

@daniel1010861 And I think its unfair to dictate who he loves based on "who suffered the most." If Inuyasha loved Kikyo more because her afterlife sucked, then he would be doing so because of guilt and pity. Thats actually the biggest problem with Inuyasha and Kikyo's relationship--it was beautiful, but too much of it was based on guilt and sadness, even before she died.*Sighs* What Kikyo needed was reprieve from her duty guarding the Shikon and happiness. And I think she got both in the end.
@daniel1010861 Takahashi did make Kiko's soul suffer by bringing her back from the dead, but she did it because Kikyo needed closer. Kikyo still hated Inuyasha. While in her new body, Kikyo learned more about life and about people than she did when she was alive. And when she died again, it happened the way it should have--not with Inuyasha and her hating each other, but with Inuyasha coming to rescue her. Her soul was finally free.
@Sirena101 I think Kikyo could be very arrogant sometimes because she knew how powerful she was, for pretty much the entire anime, Kagome wasn´t even a competition for her. But I think her faults make her more relatable, at least for me, which is why I prefer her to Kagome, Kagome is to good for my personal taste.

I feel like at 1:24 thats more of Inuyasha's song. When i heard that song for the first time it was when inuyasha was with his mother and he asked her what a halfdemon or halfbreed was. For some reason now i just think of him and his struggles when i hear that part of the song.
@mystery756 I noticed that too along with episode 21 and 48 of the series when Kagome sees Inuyasha again. Its not the flute version but still the same song. I feel like this part in the music is deffinitly more Inuyasha and Kagome rather then Kikyo.

She didn't go to hell. If you watch InuYasha: The Final Act episode whatever, you'll see that kikyo's spirit is finally able to rest in peace and her soul floats to the sky to join the stars.

I really do love Kikyo. I'll admit, at first I could not stand her, but as the story continued I grew to understand her character better. Just recently I have known the feeling of someone you love deeply betraying you, and the hatred that takes hold of your heart because of it, and for this I can understand her much better. I believe Inuyasha and Kagome belong together, but I really love Kikyo, and she deserves to rest in peace.

You know.. It really doesn't matter between the two.. Kagome is the reincarnation of Kikyo which means there both the same.. If he goes with Kikyo he's still technically with both because they both share the same soul and compassion for him. Kagome is Kikyo, and Kikyo is Kagome they both love him and share eachothers soul so if you hate Kagome and love Kikyo your actually just hating both. Just don't be haters you guys love em' both. c:

I love her! She's a cool character. I much prefer her than Kagome because Kikyo kicks ass! Hell, she was the only person Naraku feared. Plus, she's powerful!

@keys3on3bold i think that they could've make it out, but since kagome was there and were the reincarnation of kikyo, it's hard for inuyasha to decide. otherwise, inuyasha would've go with her into hell easily without realizing that kikyo didn't know the truth. even after kikyo realize the truth, inuyasha still deny her offer to go with her into the afterlife in his dream, which i don't understand his part. kikyo offer him to go with her maybe an asshole like said.

Kikyo was a good person. People will insist they hate her because she's "perfect" or "selfish", but I don't think that's true. Takahashi gave her faults too, but it wasn't that she was evil. The thing that keeps me personally from fully respecting Kikyo is her arrogance, which sometimes lead her to make bad decisions. My favorite thing about her is her sense of duty, and her desire to conquer evil and preserve good.

@daniel1010861 I disagree with you there. Kikyo is too smart to just be confused by death. When she came back, she believed she was stronger, "free to hate, and free to love." But she is smart enough to overestimate or underestimate herself and others. She's calculating, but sometime she misses the big picture. Get what I'm saying?

@daniel1010861 It didn't mess with her head, Takahashi-sensei would have said so if it did. What happened to her is she became "locked" in time. From the moment Naraku struck to the moment her soul left her body, her soul was not able to move past that point. It made her angry, sad, and bent on revenge, but it didn't change her personality. Even before she died, Kikyo made mistakes in her life--underestimating Onigumo, trying to be perfect, ect. Don't forget, her misjudgment had a handinherdeath

@Sirena101 all this Takahashi said ? she said her soul couldn't go on ? she didn't uderstand onigumo . shw was so kind and felt sorry for him and thought he would die so she tried to make pleasant his last time. she couldn't know that milions of demons are going to get into him . she made mistakes but everybody makes mistakes you know. did Takahashi said she is locked in time ? if she did say it......i'm really sad :( that is not justice to my opintion.

@daniel1010861 She did feel sorry for him, but she wasn't blind. She knew Onigumo was scum and knew he was attracted to her. But she nursed him anyway, because she thought he wouldn't be able to harm anyone anymore. Have you ever noticed that Kikyo is scary good at predicting what's going to happen next? She usually can guess what people are going to do because she's very good at reading souls. And yes, Takahashi blatantly said that Kikyo's soul would never move on while she was tied to earth.

@daniel1010861 She had no real respect for Onigumo, but he was human and (she thought) harmless, so she took pity on him. Also, she misjudged the jewel. I don't think she knew it had a will of its own (but I don't think anyone knew that). In other words, wishing for Inuyasha to be human would not have purified the jewel. In the end, the jewel never intended to grant them their wish, and instead became the trigger of her tragedy.

@daniel1010861 And I think its unfair to dictate who he loves based on "who suffered the most." If Inuyasha loved Kikyo more because her afterlife sucked, then he would be doing so because of guilt and pity. Thats actually the biggest problem with Inuyasha and Kikyo's relationship--it was beautiful, but too much of it was based on guilt and sadness, even before she died.*Sighs* What Kikyo needed was reprieve from her duty guarding the Shikon and happiness. And I think she got both in the end.

@daniel1010861 Takahashi did make Kiko's soul suffer by bringing her back from the dead, but she did it because Kikyo needed closer. Kikyo still hated Inuyasha. While in her new body, Kikyo learned more about life and about people than she did when she was alive. And when she died again, it happened the way it should have--not with Inuyasha and her hating each other, but with Inuyasha coming to rescue her. Her soul was finally free.

@Sirena101 I think Kikyo could be very arrogant sometimes because she knew how powerful she was, for pretty much the entire anime, Kagome wasn´t even a competition for her. But I think her faults make her more relatable, at least for me, which is why I prefer her to Kagome, Kagome is to good for my personal taste.

Kikyo wasn't a bitch. She was tricked by Naraku. She thought InuYasha betrayed her and that's why she tried to kill him. She's misunderstood and lonely. She loves InuYasha but can't be with him anymore because of Kagome.

I feel like at 1:24 thats more of Inuyasha's song. When i heard that song for the first time it was when inuyasha was with his mother and he asked her what a halfdemon or halfbreed was. For some reason now i just think of him and his struggles when i hear that part of the song.

She didn't go to hell. If you watch InuYasha: The Final Act episode whatever, you'll see that kikyo's spirit is finally able to rest in peace and her soul floats to the sky to join the stars.

I really do love Kikyo. I'll admit, at first I could not stand her, but as the story continued I grew to understand her character better. Just recently I have known the feeling of someone you love deeply betraying you, and the hatred that takes hold of your heart because of it, and for this I can understand her much better. I believe Inuyasha and Kagome belong together, but I really love Kikyo, and she deserves to rest in peace.
