  • i hate brad angelo. too much negativity in one person. should not be bowling so good....

  • @sabeboy1977 Angelo is a really nice guy, he's just from Buffalo, NY is all. Everyone up there is like that.....and they all bowl really good too. He's running the BowlU clinics with Rick Benoit now. Focuses on the knowledge side of the game a lot with some work on physical. One of the tools he uses includes a to scale model of a lane. Having made one of these before, I can tell you it is surprisingly skinny. I had one that was 39 CM in width, but over 3 feet long.

  • @FoxSilv dude try reading what I wrote. Rpm. Do the math sparky you will come up with around 30 - 35 revs from release to impact.

  • i love the annimation at the begenning

  • She scored a touchdown.... And were back with the

  • lol by the beard of zues how is that possible

  • Angelo would have won sooner if he woulda switched to Storm.

    Just sayin...

  • Robert Smith must be VERY strong. I knew he had alot of revs but 600 or more? Wow!

  • @TyRTi

how the hell would Robert Smith get 600 revs in 60 ft?? 10 revs per foot??? dont think so..... not even close. besides the cover would burn off in a half game....

oh and the fact that hes lofting the ball past the arrows..... dont believe everything you hear....

  • @rnv069 Im just saying what they said are you saying your more educated then the people working for PBA? I dont think so...

  • @TyRTiThey are talking about RPM (rev. per minute) If you do the math he is looking at approx. 35 revs from set down point to contact with the pins. As far as being, educated I have over 30 years in the game, owned and operated my own pro shop for 10 years, bowled in college in the US and bowled with many of the guys you see on the PBA (Brand Angelo, Bob Learn, Tommy Baker, Patrick Allen and others) No disrespect meant by my post the announcer should've been more clear so you dont get wrong info

  • @rnv069 its RPM not RPF smartass its completely possible

  • What pattern is this? Viper?

  • @bowlerdude95 Its shark!

  • I like Angelo's style. Kickin it old school with finess and pure bowler.

  • jason belmonte does the same thing in tournaments. he did it in wichita

  • 2:13 That was the nastiest flush I have ever seen. It was like the moment the ball hit the pocket, all ten were in the pit before the ball got there.

  • Ha, thats nothing. A guy that constantly bowls at my alley lofts it at least 35 feet down the lane EVERY shot, and he doesnt even hook it! I'm telling you it gets on my nerves so much i want to take his bowling ball and smash him with it

  • Are you from Tennessee, and is the guy's name Troy?

  • No, I'm from North Carolina, and the guys name is Chris

  • @dillonleetaylor that is IMPOSSIBLE!

  • Smith is lofting the ball because the front part of the lanes are burned out. He has such a high rev rate that his ball is turning up too early.

  • this match cracks me up every time i watch it...unbelieveable loft!

  • wolfman12395, Smiths' loft isn't hurting the lanes at all. Synthetic lanes are much more durable and dent resistant compared to wood lanes. Could do this all day long and the lanes will be just fine

  • that one popped the wood!

  • why do people loft there bowling ball do u get more pin carrey or what

  • oil gets carried down the lane with so many plays , tricky to control - thats why Smith opted for that "small" loft

  • first 20 feet of the lane could be dry, and they are getting their ball over that dry part.

  • robert smith loft his ball just because he got too much rev

  • @zzztop he lofted it in this match because he lost a bet to pete weber.

  • Its funny how Brad Angelo doesnt slide at all. its pretty Legit :]

  • is that the one from the cure?

  • God damn. How extreme was the oil for this show?

  • lol no joke even smiths ball is coming bak enuf. like that first ball.

  • thats fucking retarted i have 320 revs he has at least 600, ridiculous

  • his normal strike ball has about 530-540 :)

  • like all great pros, he can adjust. I think for him, he can rev it as little as 450 when necessary (still pretty high), but can crank it to as high as 650rpm comfortably. Probably can go higher, but I don't think he ever needs to.

  • haha throw it overhand

    LOL

  • 6:44 ftw

  • "Welcome back Bobby. Welcome back!" - Robert Smith

  • he overcame the difficulty of the lane hooking too much by using his strength lol he overcame his injuries but not theyre back to haunt him get well soon robert

  • Robert Smith is so freakin talented. If he could stay healthy he'd be in the HOF.

  • That's what is called a "commercial".

  • hahaha but it's funny. she scored a touchdown!

  • whoa that shoots are horrible wtf ? air strikes

  • Is that new pattern, non oil pattern? Crazy!

  • its called

the fried up, transitioned, 6 games bowled on, light burned, shark pattern

  • lolz

  • you are the weirdest and craziest and still one of the best bowler alive

  • smith is a freakin beast

  • This isn't The Cure at all.

  • no

    do u ppl bowl???

robert smith rev is now 600.

  • It's hard to believe this is the Shark pattern, it so so dry. If it were the Cheetah, Smith would probably be out near the gutter. I really thought it was the Viper.

  • They said the average rev rate is 400. Doesn't that seem just a bit high? Maybe 300-350 would be a pretty good AVERAGE for the PBA.

  • It's gonna keep going up and up and up. 10 years ago, Smith and Rudy "Revs" went "beyond" power playing (throwing the ball at more than 400 RPMs) for their time. Now you got guys like Sean Rash and Tommy Jones who throw the ball at at least 500 RPMs. looks like higher revs is starting to become a big trend, thus the new avg of 400 RPMs.

  • i would honestly give up one hundred or so revs if i could get longevity on the tour. i would rather be like duke or williams with 200-300 revs but be out on tour for 20-30 years

  • i agree with the thing about you would rather be like duke or williams and be on tour for 20-30 years i try not to do something i wont be able to do 20 years later

  • Smith has been measured at over 750 RPM...

  • 750? Ya right.

  • He's been measured at over 850 rpm. One of the reasons he went to the Sarge Easter grip was to get his rev rate to a more managable 500-550rpm.

  • 850 my ass. Sarge Easter doesnt necessarily reduce your rev rate, it just gives a different feel.

  • Your ass is right! As for the grip, whenever you decrease the distance between a finger and the thumb = decrease rev rate because there is a shorter time gap between the finger and thimb release. Also the farther the finger grips from the thumb, the easier to get under and around it; and the more axis rotation equals more axis tilt and more revolutions. The Sarge Ewaster grip would tend to keep the hand more behind the ball = less rotation, less tilt, and less revs.

  • dont be stupid, he cant get 850..no one in the world can do that

  • There's footage of an ABC Masters tournament where they describe the CATS system (I belive it's the one that Jason Queen won). Robert Smith was measured at 763 RPM, I believe it was his rookie year...

  • Show me =S

Cuz the highest rating i saw of bobby is 640 =S

  • I don't have the tape anymore, it's the 1993 Masters. Jason Queen won, bowling a 300 in the semifinals. Jason BTW was also one of the best Golden Tee Fore players out there.

  • Jason Belmonte and the european 2 handed bowler got cat scanned at 900 max revs

  • don't be stupid, no one in the world can get that high... unless you can prove it, don't post lies

  • was it a 10 pound ball?

  • it was a 9 pound and they could almost barely hit brooklyn side peeling it off the gutter it hooked so much

  • Talking about revelutions and speed, I gather you could put more revelutions on the ball by slowing it down along with covering alot of territory via a hook. I can believe someone can put alot of revs on a shot when things work as I decribed. I know I get more revs bowiing without my thumb in the ball, because the ball is going slower, yet I'm still able to make it spin due to my fingers being in the ball.

RObert Smith is sick with the speed and revs he has.

  • robert smith has been clocked in, at 740 rpms, with a 15 pound ball. one handed i may add, and yes i can prove it.

  • I believe that... now I just wonder where?

  • The Masters in Salt Lake City 1996. He was averaging 700 no problem.

  • then send me a vid with proof

  • i dont have a video, and not all proof has to be videos... i have the source, and he him self admits it, now if you would quit being a skeptic, i said i could prove it.

  • this is also coming from someone who says, belmo and osku thrown a shot with 900 rpms, when you cant even prove it, or as you say "send me a video with proof"

  • Osku Revs it up more then anyone in the world and Belmo is Second... Robert Smith told me that at the Dick Weber open... He says he isn't even in there league.

  • currently due to age, no he isnt. in his prime, he was up there before these guys were even out there. do you want the source? ill send it to you, he admits it him self.

  • yea right

  • look at him and say he cant do it

  • prove it dick

  • sorry but I'm calling BS on that.

  • Sean Rash isn't at 500 RPMs

  • Theres a typo in the brackets! Angleo..?

  • lol I never noticed that before. Good catch.

  • @travis82x haha i see it, they got koivuniemi right but not angelo haha

  • Go Robert! thx for the vid wolf

  • Yeah That's why Smith was throwing it like that.

  • or the lane

  • bad ball choice angelo

  • I was there!!!! OMG That was amazing to watch. I am the one in the bright blue hoodie behind the bowlers!!!!!

  • lol i saw you

  • EVERYONE Watch.... THIS is how you play DEEP! Robert Smith rocks!

Thanks so much Wolf, this was a great Match to watch. He was playing about 45 I think?

  • 45 over 35 out to 14. LOL

  • This boy (Robert Smith) just made Elite bowling balls look like GOD.

Brad Angelo using the Brunswick BVP Rampage. Not really that bad of a ball to use on this pattern. I would have played a bit straighter but give him credit he defeated other great players on the step ladder.

  • balls shouldnt matter dude...robert was using a cheetah which had no buisness being used on shark...you dont know what the lanes were like..where the oil is...and where the dry is...so the rampage was a good choice since its a dry lane ball

  • i missed robert being on TV

so intimidating to see him bowl !!

  • Thanks Again Wolf!

    Bombardier to battle station!

    :D

  • I'd love to see Tommy Jones and Robert Smith both lofting over the gutter cap and see who wins lol.

  • or ken simard

  • Notice the ball Smith is throwing - an Elite Cheetah. The Cheetah ball is the hardest on the market, meaning it is made not to react, making it an excellent ball for the Cheetah PBA pattern (a short light oil pattern). Smith bringing that ball back so hard is just absolutely incredible

  • That ball isn't that weak, it's just meant to go long. So it's not too amazing to see that ball hook that much. That ball was just perfect for the way the condition was at that time, on fire.

  • yea, actually that ball is that weak, it's designed to bowl on cheetah, I've heard people say the only time they can throw is with dead dry to the right, and even with shark being torched, it's still far from dead dry

  • actually...just cause its the cheetah doesnt exatcly mean its the best ball for that pattern.....its just how that ball roll and react is related to the pattern...although the cheetah is pretty damn close to that shot since it is an extremem outside ball...it really just depends on the bowler...like robert for exapmli...cheetah on shark

  • How is it in relation to the Brunswick Power Groove DryR?

  • your wrong, the cheetah is the shortest pattern but it uses the highest volume of oil and acutally i usually use a fairly aggresive ball to bowl on cheetah because of the high volume of oil

  • House bowlers do worse than what Robert Smith did. The house has nothing to worry about from Bob, except maybe breaking the glass protector at the back of the deck.

  • Insane man, just Insane!!!!!

  • waiting for part 2!

  • Thanks, always.

  • BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
