He had an operation it worked, but, they put a tube in his throat and, when he was in recovery... the stupid ass nurse wasn't watching him and he died. And the hospital told her to take an early retirement so she get's paid for killing my pawpaw Wayne!

My uncle was found dead on friday and my friends funeral was this past saturday. This song has helped me get through all this, becuase i know one day i will see them both again. i haven't had any grandparents die recently, or any one really close to me. a couple of years ago, my great- grandpa died. i was at the funeral, and i looked at my grandpa. he was crying extremely hard. then i looked down at my three-year-old cousin, who was sobbing, clutching my legs. later, he was still crying. i took my brand-new ipod (which i hadn't even used yet) and let him listen to this. i haven't got it back yet, but i don't care. i just made him happy.

My grandfather is 79 and is the nicest, sweetest, most generous man. My grandmother passed away seven years ago and I know he wants to be with her so bad. Everytime it gets to that last verse I am reminded that one of these days he will go join my grandmother and I can't help but cry.

My cousin sang this at my aunt's funeral and now everytime I hear it I start to cry. The part about the old man is almost spot on to my grandpa. My grandfather is 79 and is the nicest, sweetest, most generous man. My grandmother passed away seven years ago and I know he wants to be with her so bad. Everytime it gets to that last verse I am reminded that one of these days he will go join my grandmother and I can't help but cry.

When my father died, he left his wife of 49 yrs, 5 sons, 3 daughters, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He waited for me and my two sons to travel through the night in the dead of winter. I only hope I can leave such a legacy of love for my boys.....I love you daddy

My cousin sang this at my aunt's funeral and now everytime I hear it I start to cry. The part about the old man is almost spot on to my grandpa. He was surrounded by a lot of family when he passed and it was so hard. I miss them both so much. It's such a beautiful song. You can really hear Carrie's emotion in it.

I lost my grandma, the women who raised me on October 17,2011. and I miss her soooo much! She was only 51 and I'm only 14. I know she's in a better place but it's hard to go each day without her. I miss her more than anything. RIP Grandma!<3

My grandma died today. She said that life is eternal, our body just gets worn out. She said she loved me. And she said "i will see u soon, Make me proud i will be watching". She lived to see me get adopted 2 days before. I will always love her. Love you grandma always.

my grandmother fought cancer for 8 years and she was the strongest woman I have ever seen or known in my life.She just passed away on the 27th I was by her side I sang this for her she could not move or talk but she knew I was there because when I started 2 sing she would move her eye lid & she had a tear roll down her face It was one of the hardest things I have had to do.I was by her side all night when it got down 2 her last breath my family asked me to sing her home using this song so I did

reminds me of moving from foster home to foster home, they were my temporary home but was lucky to get the opportunity to have a permanent home with a loving family. Thank god and love this song brings back the day I met my family and finally had a place to belong : )

@shmary45 underwood in another video explains that she didnt mean for this song to be sad. She meant for it to be hopeful. that there is a home that we're looking foward to. a home that has no tears, no sadness..etc. that what people go through now is just a stop by the road that leads to greatness

@PandaManda1432 Thank you so much :) It was SO shocking to me....being only 10 years old and seeing my grandpa almost in tears and his hands were shaking......My grandma was devistated too because it was her mom's car :( But obviously she'd rather have the car be crushed than my grandpa ;)
