How Do You Arm Your Microphone In CE ? Like I Know How To Get It In There And Record But How To U Arm It To Where U Can Hear Your Voice In Your Headphones??
Hey Man My mic is the same as yours an i just got cool edit but my mic is sooooo loud i done turned the volume on the computer down an all eather its just the mic or theres a volume controll in cool edit pro to. any advice anybody?
I loved this back on Win98. I tried to use it with WinXP & 7. It wasnt compatible. So now i use Cakewalk Pro Tracks Plus & Qubase. Still wish i had this, was so much easier.
all LOOKS impressive, but why not play the section how it was to us and compare it with how it came out ... so that we can study the difference.
Now I have to do it myself or "believe you on your word" ... both is not really motivating for me, unless SOME ONE can give me a audio or video link to examine the difference.
I do not mean to offend anyone, please do not take my criticism as "non-constructive"
I don't have a sample of dry vocals, but I use this for some of my rap recordings and I can assure you it makes quite a difference. After I do all of this stuff (and a couple of other things), my voice sounds fuller, clearer, and louder. There is slightly more bass to it as well. Again, I don't have any acapella of my vocals but you can see what the recordings sound like by listening to the songs I currently have uploaded on my channel.
I tried every noise reduction combination possible. I still get clicking and popping when my vocals are mixed with the instrumental, but when they are seperate it is completely fine. Whats the fix?
Cool Edit Pro is not that great of a DAW... This kid doesn't even know what he's talking about at all... To get better quality all you need is a good setting to record in, EQ your vocals (cutting out the lows), then compress them, add the reverb, and finally maximize them at the very end... You don't maximize the vocals in the beginning... Why didn't he submit the before and after of the vocals...
If i may add something... For any effects like reverb, echo delays etc you should copy original track with pure vocals and edited/added echos you should put to separate track. Never use efects on original track or mix two vocal tracks together
ay bro, i gotta samson c01u mic i use fruity loops to record and make beats. it sounds good but tell me why it feels like its louder on one side of my speakers? and its not my speakers i know its the mic is there anyway i can fix that? and what program did yu use for this? this is urgent please let me know
You clipped your vocals with your over use of the Hard Limiter. (thats Bad, btw)Also, you should not use Hard Limiting before Dynamics Processing. This is because you are then processing a track which has lost imformation it needs to be processed properly. And to tell the truth, Dynamics processing should have been done WHILE recording via rack mounted unit.... but that's a whole different coversation. This isn't me hatin' or trollin', I'm just sayin' so peeps know.
Hey, I did this and the vocals sound great. But how about the part where you get the vocals and music to match? After having listened to it with several different headsets and with speakers, my track is way too loud.
Thanks a lot my man good advice. I used cool edit years ago and never got this quality. I use a samson co1 usb condenser for mixtape shit and this really gave the vocals a studio quality effect.
BRO THANX FOR THIS VIDEO IT REALLY HELPED MY SONG SOUND PROFESSIONAL , EVERY BODY ELSE ON YOUTUBE WHO EXPLAINS THINGS LIKE THIS ON YOUTUBE TALK TOOOOOO DAMNN MUCH !!!!!!!!! BUT THANKS AGAIN
BEFORE CUTTING YOU SHOULD RUN NOISE REDUCTION "GET PROFILE" ON THE BITS WITHOUT VOCALS/INSTRUMENT.... ONCE YOU GOT THE PROFILE THEN CLOCK "OK".,. THEN HIGHLIGHT THE WHOLE THING AND RUN THAT NOISE REDUCTION AGAIN. THENNNNNNNNNNN CUT THE MOUSE CLICKS OUT AND RUN YOUR POP REDUCER.
@exxtreem23 i used a computer gaming mic and crayola studio sound editing software.... listen to my newest tracks and you can the SUPERB editing in it (:
Pop Elimination and hiss reduction take away from the natural/warm feel of your vocals. I would not suggest using that. Invest in a pop filter and make sure your microphone levels are right from jump. The guide is okay, but it's alot more to mixing down vocals then this. I'm not knocking you I'm just saying.
by the way , some annoying sound keep coming out from the audio that i recorded , it such like supersonic like "eeeeeeeeeeeeeee......." do you know how to eliminate that ?

hi ive got a quick question. i record in cool edit pro and my vocals are in the same track as my instrumental does anyone know how i can seperate those 2 so i can mix just my vocals b/c i have my yamaha keyboard playing midi songs to my mixer and into my computer and i dont know how to get the song into one channel and the vocals in the other channel
@YOUNGDOMO19 the reason to his is cause you have your mic plugged into right or the left your mixer should have a middle option unless its a small mixer so untill you get one that has a middle option it will be that way
@YOUNGDOMO19 My Cool edit pro have the same problem. I record anyway with only one speaker working, then when u finish copy the wave that was recorded from the right track and past in the left track. then u will have a normal sound wave with both speakers spiting sound! =)
@falconz117 high light a lil bit of the background noise pracitically in the very beggining of the wave then go to noise reduction> noise reduction> press "get profile selection"> click okay> high light the whole vocal> go back to noise reduction> noise reduction> then just click o.k.. and it should get rid of the background noise..
I see alot of people hating on this kid, but hes showing people a basic "novice" setup for cooledit. I found this tutorial online long time ago and the web page is down now. These setting work for most not all people. Before killing his DIY help video with trolling try it out and see for your self. P.s. this editing requires a half way decent mic if you got a 10$ mic dont expect editing to fix ya up lol.
THIS IS NOT PROFESSIONAL THIS IS NOT CORRECT SETTINGA THRESHOLD" THAS WHAT ITS CALLED" SET AT -40dB are u serious. THIS IS NOT PROFESIONAL STUDIO SOUND EDITING.
i cannot sing sustained notes because it somewhat automatically reduce the waveform to almost half when sustaining a note for about 2-3 seconds and also results in telephone-voice-sound...i have tried using different mics, the problem is still there...is there a problem with my settings, or my sound card?

1. Cut mouse clicks out (if applicable)
2. *double click* Noise Reduction > pop Eliminator > Auto Find All Levels
3. Effects > Amplitude > Hard Limiting (note numbers and save preset) 2:22
4. Effects > Amplitude > Dynamics Processing (note and save preset) 3:00
5. Delay Effects > Reverb (set and save preset) 4:22
6. Effects > Filters > Graphic EQ (note numbers) > Spitclear 5:16
7. Amplitude > Normalize to 70%
8. Right Click track and Loop Duplicate (or 'convert to unique copy') and stack
