  • You sound like Jay from the Inbetweeners!

  • hw do i make it bigger after puting it to the other background?

  • how do you cut it out and then put it in a diffrent back ground.

  • @butterfly59036 click on it once, then right click->edit-->cut/copy then paste it ;)

  • What did u go on!!???

  • very helpful. thanks.

  • great idea

  • I don't mean to sound rude but you didn't even start cutting up to the 3 minute mark. sorry but it's just soooo much small,l talk and it took a whole 45 seconds to do.

  • @AmyInPittsburgh You don't sound rude.

  • @AmyInPittsburgh Actually you do sound rude and remember nobody is making you watch just close it if your that impatient. The video was great!

  • Wow...finally a video that I can see what you are clicking on and you describe it also. Very nice accent as well. Thanks!!

  • This helped me so much!!! Thank you!!

  • how do i make a background?

  • I love u :D

  • Thank for the sharing, it is good to learn from you

    Regards

  • Thank for the sharing, it is good to learn from you

  • ty! just what i needed to know.

  • This tutorial mentions two ways of doing this - wonder where I can find part 2?

  • I do everything you do, yet the scissors don't paste my cut out. it just pastes the whole picture :S what am i doing wrong?

  • @rhia93 Yeah this tutorial is very long winded and leaves out THE MOST IMPORTANT PART! So let me help you out with the simple fact that you have to hit enter (which is counter to any other program I can think of where right clicking does work) and then the "ants go marching". If you just right click like this guy claims, you will end up getting the entire image instead. Looks like this video is old, so perhaps this is a stupid feature the Gimp creators decided to throw in to confuse us all.

  • @oskiewhoaskie It worked, thank you!

  • great ! thanks dude :D

  • i pasted the picture but it was too big...how do i make it smaller? ^^

  • @LpsRoseProuctions Nevermind that when I paste the picture, I'm sitll on the sciccor tool and it wont let me move the image! Help?

  • @LpsRoseProuctions oh CRAP nevermind. i am so stupid

  • this is awesome!!! thank you!

guess what i'm going to be doing with all my photos from now on??? sticking everyone onto weird backgrounds!

  • Thank you

  • thank you very much ^^

  • I followed this tutorial spot on till I connected the dots with the infinite sign, but then I can't get the Marching Ants. Whenever I click inside the dots the whole thing just disappears! I have no clue what's happening there, maybe you have some experience with it?

(I've done your tutorial successful twice before; I really don't know what's wrong now.)

  • 240p FTW!

  • the gimp?

  • haha, cooles Tut ;)

Schaut doch auch mal bei mir vorbei, habe viele neue Tutorials!

  • HOW THE HELL do you open a picture i tried the open button in the gimp no files showing

  • great tutorial mate.very helpful, clear and well explained for new user..

  • i am that crap at comps i cant even download gimp without getting anoyed!!!!! they do look good the tutorials though

  • This is one of the clearest, most defined tutorials I have seen for this subject in Gimp. I do hope you continue to make these as your instructions are easy to understand and follow.

  • when i did the intelligent scissors, i never got the infinity sign that you talked about. how do i get it and then how do i put the selected area on another picture?

  • you could use a shortcut and paste as new layer.

  • omg i freakin loce u!

  • <3 your accent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @annah7414 Ok...just make sure you actually follow their instructions and you'll be fine :)

  • @malgalin problemm wen i copy the pic i scissors and wen is time to past it to a bg all of the pic come out,dey have it too bigg...is there a setting i didn't do??

  • @annah7414 just put the fire layer over the normal pic , and start erasing the fire layer wherever you want :)

  • @annah7414 u could just use the majic wand tool it traces it perfectly

  • @annah7414 ok Heres something you can do. Select your paths tool and trace around the image and instead of clicking in the center hit enter and that will do the "marching ants" then all you have to do is open the new window and right click and click edit and then click paste

  • @annah7414 lol your shit at using gimp if our stupid enough TO CLICK IN THE MIDDLE..

    dumass kids these days...

  • @annah7414 that doesn't mean the actual tutorial was incorrect.

  • @TeachingSimple, I have tried that & it still doesn't work. When I right clicked and did the 'open with' option, the GIMP program didnt even show up or open when I finally located it. I don't think it's compatible with windows. I probably downloaded the MAC version by accident......

  • If anyone knows what I'm doing wrong, please help. P.s I have Windows vista, and all my photos are jpeg. Do I need to change them into a compatible format?? Thanks in advance, if u can help me :) !

  • @TheMsLoso Just open GIMP, click file, open, then choose your file. The other way is to right click your .jpg and click open with>choose program>GIMP. GIMP will edit .jpg

  • I just got Gimp 2.6 and I'm seriously lost. Lol, I can't even upload photos to edit :(

  • thank you so much buddy. really helped me out. great Video!

  • when I click in the center of the scissors selection, it just dissappears and nothing happens

  • @Juxibooi Make sure the ends connect to complete the selection?

  • wtf is this good it is so easy evrybody can copy and paste

  • Malgalin, I have found your tutorials priceless!..thank you.

Perhaps you can help me though?

When i click on an image to "edit with Gimp", it doesn't open the section to the right hand side of the image, as you have in this part.

It only opens the image itself, and the toolbox on the left of the screen.

I did have it at one time, so have i deleted it in some way? and can i retrieve it?

    Many many thanks.

  • @rockinbillyboy Do you mean the layers dialog? ctrl+L

  • @malgalin That's the one!

Thank you so much, that is very helpful.

  • gay britt suggaaaaa

  • gay brit sugggggaaaaaa

  • gay

  • This worked my first try, do everythign the same. and it won't paste on my second try?

  • It seems to make the image smaller when you paste it is their any way to make it larger..?

  • @TheCourtneyShaw It doesn't make the image smaller, it just means you are pasting it on to a different sized layer (its actual size by pixels, not its size on screen, see the 800x600 -or whatever the size is-number at the top of the image window)

To resize you want to scale the layer. I think the shortcut is Shift+T, but I can't remember. You should be able to do it through the menus, try the layer menu first and go from there...

  • Thanks for your tutorial video, really helped me a lot. I just didn't understood watch you mumbled between 4:55 until 5:00. Lol.

  • @ounico roughly: "it looks like a Venn Diagram, or whatever that is supposed to represent, but anyway, we've got two cirsles next to each other"

  • @malgalin Thanks again buddy.

  • You sound like the young Zod from Smallville. lol

  • Sorry I'm just a begginer and I need help. Can someone tell me how to open multiple pages of gimp? Because on this video he's got a page of gimp with his fire background and one with the statue, how do I get multiple pages? Please help!!

  • It's ok people i got it now.

  • @GimpBegginner Simply have your image up, to add a second one.. Click OPEN, and pick the second image you want to use. It won't be added to the same page but a second box.

  • Very helpful, Bravo! Goodjob! (:
