  • Great film; can it be brought on DVD? I can see some of Norman Stanley Fletcher in Ronnie Barker here. Great acting by Harry H Corbett too. Thanks for posting.

  • Brilliant , thank you so much for posting!!!!!

  • I so need to find this and buy it. I love Harry H Corbett adnwud love to see him stuff other than Steptoe and Son.

  • my nan and granddad's boat was tied up when they was filming this movie...i love to see the history of my family and the way they used to live the life on the canals

  • any chace of the full movie ?

  • anychance of puting on a URL to the full movie , i have looked everywhere on the web, and can note fined a full video ???

  • Now that's a woman with something to show.....

    ;~)

  • They mentioned all the places i used to live,Bicester,Leamington Spa,Covenrty! Do you have the rest of this film?I would love to see it.

  • The great Ronnie Barker!

  • Great to watch in terms of nostaliga, but having watched the complete film I have to say it was awful.

  • it has a charm and appeal that is sadly lacking today - ur entitled to ur opinion but ur wrong

  • love this film, and theyll be forever young too, which softens theblow of them passing away a little, thanks for posting

  • Thanks for this, great film.I saw it when it came out and even then it was an elegy to a fast disappearing way of life. The great freeze of 1963 froze over the canal system for 2 months not only stopping traffic but buggering up the locks as well. The boats used in the film were on their way to be scrapped.

  • anytime m8 i have this movie uncut and watch it from time too time

  • @patlaws

you'll be glad to learn that they weren't scrapped. "bellerophon" (ronnie's boat) has been renamed "iona" and is operating as a horse drawn trip boat, and i saw "banstead" (hemel's) passing through hanwell locks a few months ago, approximately where you see it at 6:52.

  • @j43ms thats nice to know.I live on a narrowboat myself and have cruised the route in the film.I will keep an eye out for the bellerophon and banstead!

  • Being a huge fan of ronnie barker and having all the stepoe and son episodes im amazed i never new of this film.

  • birmingham hasnt changed ! great to see corbett in his prime ,though typcasted as harold steptoe he is still great to watch andits easy to see why he was considered so highly by the acting industry . ronnie barker must like working with people called corbett .

  • oh yer ure ryt its arthur alberts brother in steptoe and son well spotted

  • Used to have this taped on video, really must get it on DVD now. Really good, clean film to watch.... Thanks for posting it.

  • anytime your be lucky to find this on dvd

  • guy at 2:10 was in the steptoe and son funeral 1

  • "Good job they weren't tied up at Berkhamsted!!"

Lol!! I used to work at Berko!

Good to see this, Ronnie playing an early version of Fletch!

  • this is quite sad to see, harry h corbett forced to play the same character over and over again. Still he is the best

  • i agree,harry h typecast,waste of a very good talent,but on the upside birmingham got a mention,long live us brummies...

  • Yeah he mentions Birmingham then proceeds to say how he hasn't seen a white woman in weeks.

wonder how it is up there now?

  • kebab house on every corner

  • Sadly typecast with Steptoe,Harry was offered again and again basically the same cockney character in all sorts of stuff like this...stil brilliant though and here with the the great Ronnie Barker.

Why this title has not been made available on dvd is beyond me especially considering the rows and rows of shelved dvd dross in stores right now.

  • Wow! The county's changed beyond recognition since this movie. What the heck happened?

  • hemel hempstead....the civillised part of the uk

  • lol

  • brilliant, 1960's were brill, sadly long gone........

  • 60s are gone videos still about lol
