Hope you are kidding about the comment "They said it couldn't be done" regarding going faster than 2:37. See my video response. Don't mean to be smart ass, but I have gone much faster in my 300HP Mustang with Toyo RA1 tires. You should probably be 8-10 sec faster than 2:37.
"They" meaning "a certain parts manufacturer" said that there was no way I could get my heavy ass GT500 around the track under 2:40 with a stock blower. If you listen close in the back part of the track I'm short shifting because the car was overheating and the blower was heat soaked. I've watched you before at some NASA events. You're a hell of shoe and I hope to one day get out there and try, keyword, try, to creep up in your rear view mirror. You are right, I should be 8-10 seconds faster
Sorry, but if a "parts manufacturer" told me that a car with 500+HP and relatively sticky tires couldn't get under 2:40, I would not buy, take advice from, or use any of their parts because they are clueless. Sebring is a "Power" track and cars with barely more than 1/2 the power of a GT500 can at least lap in the low 2:30s.
10-4 on that. I don't buy any of their crap anymore. I'm still in the learning curve. Then again, we are always learning. I just moved up to HPDE 4 with NASA and I plan on transitioning to TTU next time out. Just working on my set up and still learning to drive. Any comments on my lines from the video? I'm always looking to get better and I know you've got more seat time than I do so any advice would be appreciated.
I'm hoping to get the car around in sub-2:30 within the next month.
Nice lap! It's impressive how the GT500 builds up speed after 16. I believe you should experiment with your line on 17 a bit more. On your car, I'd try going deeper into the corner, making a sharper turn and then trying to get on the power as early as possible. There's probably another second or more there. Of course, there are as many lines on 17 as there are drivers :) See you at the next event.
Santiago, I finally got some tires on this heavy beast. I usually do stage that corner a little deeper (late apex if you will) but I was experimenting on how well the TOYO R888's could hold different lines on 16 and other turns for that matter. I'll see you this weekend at Homestead?

No. Some suspension mods and tires. Stock Supercharger. Working on a bigger supercharger. The fast lap was totally heat soaked. Working on keeping her cool now. Glad you enjoyed the video. More to come.
