can someone who really know how this beautiful woman died tell us? i'm talking about nelly uchendu! her song is one of the songs we used to hear on radio as egwu agwara ogwa when i was still in primary one. lol...... i would like to know how she died.
this music reminds me of my childhood days, hearing music like this on the airways, music that well thought out, composed and record. it saddens my heart how she suffered and died in mysery, how our nation threats our TRUE HEROS...
Nigerian musicians of the era before and after the 80's were super dupa. Thumbs up for them. Those of the 80's tower very high. My childhood memories revolve around them. They are my heros. Unfortunately, many of them have done their job and gone at a time we most need their wise and life chaning messages/counsels. May God grant eternal rest for the dead among them. May the living among them enjoy good health and peace of mind and security of properties. AMEN.
I was the last Nigerian journalist to interview Nelly...I still cherish that honour and circumstance. she was awesome but used and dumped by the system...she was ready for a relaunch and death came calling... she received no loyalty for her songs and i think it is right for us to keep her alive by uploading more of her songs and stories for all to listen to or read. keep it up.
OMG u are a genius planetolosola were dey hell did u get dis from? my dad will play dis music to ur like 20 times a day. i love u for posting dis u are the best
Planetolusola, its me again, coming here to cool my nerves... Nelly Uchendu does that all the time... Her tunes are ever green... God bless you Planetolusola.
@ucmc45 You are absoulutely right. We should be honoring such people like Nelly Uchendu, Sir Warrior, Osita Osadebe, Israel Nwoba Njemanze, Joenez (Joe Uneze), Rex Lawson, Oliver de Coque, Celestine Ukwu, to name just a few.
THEBOOGALOW-STANBOOGALOW----------my mind flashes back to eighties when this song was used to perform one movie,mama-ntafia,thanks to whoever that posted this song, nelly is gone but her memories will for ever remain.
Oh Nigeria, when shall you recognise your heroes... the men and women who sang songs of your history... the songs that unite us wherever we are in the world!
life evaporates daily in Nigeria but I rather die there than dwell in regret to the society that will always dehumanize you. Man, no matter what you will never belong there,,,,,,
@otamiyo if you want to die in Nigeria, pls die gallantly. Let it be a meaningful death. Die like Gani Fawehimin and others who fought to liberate our people from our own people. Dying of hunger, minor disease or due to bad road conditions is a mere waste of life. What u call evaporation of life. A drunk Police can kill u in Nigeria with no ramification. That rarely happens where I live. It's better to die standing than to live on knees begging. And begging the Nigerian leaders isn't the answer
Really? so r u saying dat Nelly died non-gallantly? U must b out of ur mind&also out of touch? So Gani dat died of cancer died gallantly? If u r in Nigeria, I pray r not hit by 'a minor illness', you may die out of it, u could also be hit by a drunk driver or b shot by a police officer dat insists you give him a tip. How about that? If you live outside Nigeria, I hope u r not slaving away.....u know exactly what I mean. Nelly died a gallant&great Nigerian! Respect that!
when i listen to these songs i feel like winding back the hand of time. I dont think i will ever go back to nigeria. They dont need good pple anymore.
what do u mean they don't need good people anymore? what country doesn't need good people? If u sure are indeed good u'll hope someday atleast things getter better back home and ur input as a good person no matter how small will definitely help. we've only managed to get this far via the good people we have, do u not think having more good people will sure make more positive difference? Each to his own though but one thing for sure is Nigeria needs more good people with or without you.
The Gospel secundum Nelly! Let's go back to Naija of d 70s and you'll appreciate our Zikism Politics then. What has happened really? Nigeria now hv Pastors and some Reverends singer/preachers who go about in a circus abegging "Naira rain", "Aka-Nchawa" or is it Tithe? Gone are d days of this kind of Music that will tear ur soul.
God Bless you Planetolusola for bringing back good old memories back to me.I fell like crying thinking of the Nija I left behind since 93. Nelly was a family friend and we all loved her so much!! MAY HER GENTLE SOUL REST IN PEACE!
my brother, no vex ooo! U mean say u never go Nigeria since 1993? Abeg make u go home small. U go see better things don happen for there finish. If na paper palava, I scatter it in Jesus name. God bless.

did anybody know when she died and from what ?.i just to wanna know cos not until now.i thought shes still alive. i remember:with nostalgia, her music from my childhood back in enugu:in the good old days. well, such is life, death is the debt we all owe to life, it will come when it will, but the most important thing is for one to live a good and memorable life while on earth. to this extent, NELLY UCHENDU excelled. i pray that Almighty GOD grant her soul eternal rest in JESUS name.Amen
Nelly Uchendu died in a plane crash from Lagos to Enugu together with her children and her Au pair. One of the children was just few months old then. I can't say for sure now, how many of her children were with her onboard that fatal plane then.
She had a brief romantic affair with Jim Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo while he was the govn of then Anambra State which is now split into two: Enugu and Anambra states.
On that same plane crash, Mr. C C Onoh, who succeeded him as govn. also lost a daughter.
@ezeamalu with all respect,i dont know where.u.got ur facts but nelly uchendu didnt die in a plane crash. she died after a brief illness. google the facts.
