Stopped watching this show after third episode after they killed tyr off. Why kill off your best character? Why not fix Brent Straits makeup so he can stay on? Helll make him go into the worldship fight it with is WAYISM AND COME OUT WITH A DIFFERENT LOOK HALF-MAGOG HALF-HUMAN so he can stay on. I want my uber Nietzschean not Gaheris's great great great great great great great great great great great cousin uncle twin.
This was the last awesome season and episode! Season was alright (spoiler alert) the way they killed Tyr off was beyond stupid! Then all of season 5 was piss awful!!! I was watching and enjoying the show until season 5 I watched up to the 100th episode of the season and couldn't watch anymore that's how awful season 5 was! So I skipped to the last few min of the series finale just to give myself so closure but it was still terrible! For me this episode is were the series ended.
I stopped watching regularly after the whole space zombies thing (I laughed the entire time, KISSING TO INFECT PEOPLE?) in "dance of the mayflies" ...I laughed my ass off when I found it was written by Robert Hewitt Wolfe just after he was fired...his last F**k You to the executives...the last episode I watched was where there was the whole "ninja warrior" thing that was traveling backwards in time and Trance was cutting a tree to pieces to see the future (Made no Damn sense what so ever!)
@Usul573 You mean the one where Sorbo made his character part of the race that originally created the universe? The one where Trance went Supernova and destroyed the Worldship (complete bullox ending to that whole plot)? The one where they killed Beka, Harper, Rommie, Rhade (apparently they already killed Tyr), and the entire throwaway crew aboard Andromeda? No I saw it. Unfortunately for me, I was hanging out with a friend who absolutely loved the series and made me watch it with her...
@DarkCrescendo ...which meant I had to watch that horrible excuse of a season 5 premiere to see if they actually killed off everyone except for Dylan (the size of that man's ego has always made me laugh).
Tyr was one of the most interesting characters in TV ever. First time watching the series, I disliked him completely for being so selfish. Then, I adored him for it.
Agreed. Whomever decided to fire the primary writing talent (Wolfe) should be shot. It started out as such a great show, only to go to hell after the 1st season. Eliminating Tyr was another sign of supreme idiocy, especially HOW they eliminated him. I never realized how important good producers and writers were until I saw this show completely fall apart in just a few episodes. What a waste...
I read that Keith quit after the third season because he was unhappy about how the writer's had changed his character. The writer's shoved him more into the back ground - they were Tyr haters - jealous bastards! the show is worthless without him!
Ok Im on season 2 and Im waitin for the change to come which I dont see yet. They still tryna go around and restore the common wealth and playin judge and jury of the univ.
The shows loss its focus after the change of writers and the dumping of the shows creator Robert Hewitt Wolfe's ,Kevin Sorbo wanted "hunt centric episodes" and didn't like wolfe long planed out story arcs.
The show would have played out differently if Wolfe had stayed on, You would have had a Vedran story arc in season 4, Tyr would probaily have not been killed off either.
I agree JChrist. After the change of writer, "Hunt Only Episodes", and the lost of the main reason I like Andromeda because of Tyr, I just didn't like the show anymore. I watched one episode in season 5 and man it felt lonely. Rev Bem was also gone, the guy fell off the universe. I just stopped watching this show.
The actor that played Rev Bem was allergic to the Magog makeup and needed to quit.
Dumping wolfe was a idiotic decision on Sorbo's part, What made him think he knew better how to run a tv series then the man who practically invented it? Wolfe was a veteran Trek writer whom had directed several episodes of TNG and DS9, Unlike Sorbo he actually worked with Gene Roddenberry.
The 5th season never should have been made given its abysmal quality, They should have made a tv movie instead.
But i thought it was the one's higher than Sorbo that made the decision to let Wolf go? I also read that Sorbo didn't want Wolf to go, it wasn't his call.
I love Andromeda. I feel so bad when he died. He's an antihero, not a villain. The writers were mean and got rid of him. He was a much better and more interesting character than Dylan Hunt, who might as well wear an "I'm the Hero" T-shirt. He's that simple-minded.

Yeah, I stopped watching the show after Tyr left. It really wasn't the same without him. It really got boring.
