  • I think Brigantin will beat the 2011 field soundly. Team Valor gets another Breeder Cup Trophy.

  • Sooo...the announcer didn't notice Prince Will I Am's move AT ALL? How can you miss that?

  • It is ONLY G3 because it has only been around for 3 years. This upcoming BC it will be upgraded to a G2. As for the talent, well since American horses are bred more for speed then stamina, you probably wont see too many HIGH caliber classic runners going past 1 1/4. I am hoping to see more Euro horses who are used to traveling 1 1/2, 1 3/4, or 2 miles, and have it in their pedigree. Like I said below, this race does have fantastic finishes. I want to see the purse increased as well to 750,000.

  • Since when have grade 3's been championship races? If the race can't attract enough quality competition to gain grade 1 status then it shouldn't be in the Breeder's Cup. Every Breeder's Cup race was once loaded with great horses back when it was a one day thing. Now they've got all of these filler races which don't mean much. And what is this fan friendly saddle towel nonsense. The Breeder's Cup is a unique day in racing and shouldn't be treated like a normal one. Revert back to purple!

  • I love the Marathon. If it could get a few more Graded stakes winners in it, it could be a much better sell to the haters. Prince will I am, Au Miner, Romp, Eldaffer,Precision Break, and Giant Oak were all good horses., and it always has a great finish. Now it is upgraded to a G2, and hopefully a 1,000,000 purse.

  • That was a crazy move by Prince Will I am, and the announcer didn't even notice it, or chose not to say anything!

  • Next to the Breeder's Cup Turf, This is my next favorite, and seems to always have a great finish.

  • @kemup, I realized that just after I commented, I was watching the teal jockey and got confused :P

  • Romp is extremely lucky, I thought for sure he was going down when I saw him stumble. Granted, no one acted as mature as they should have, but such a reckless move by Castellano could have seriously injured or even killed Romp, his jockey, and any horses or riders not able to dodge a fallen horse.

  • Why isn't this idiot caller not announcing anything about Zenyatta? She's obviously the biggest attraction! And she's still the best horse in my mind.

  • @LexaMichaelides because she wasn't in "the marathon" race at the breeder's cup.

  • This caller must be the worst caller in the world.

  • @hem1934 What an idiot he didn't have a clue about the incident.

  • thank you for posting this vid!

  • @horseracingfan We know your main focus in europe is the Arc.Just like ours is Kentucky Derby...or Breeders cup Classic. We dont blame anybody for not showing up...we just try to offer enough purse money to bring the best out.We could careless if europe shows up...the races are still going to run.

  • @horseracingfan

The "guy in the red" didn't do anything. The jockey you should be looking at is Castellano, "the guy in the yellow" on the horse Prince Will I Am who is on the rail. You will see him pull his horse out to go wide which causes the horse Romp under the jockey with the black jersey to almost go down.

  • I don't see any difference between the jockeys and NASCAR drivers. Shit happens, people sometimes just get really emotional and pissed. I wouldn't be too hard to Boral. Yea, he looked like an ass, but I would be pissed too. They are human. I'm sure the other jock would have protested, but you don't know what was going on Romp's jockey's mind. Maybe he knew his horse was done, and Calvin felt like his horse could have really won. That could def explain all the emotion. from Calvin.

  • where are all the comment about "animals" and "savages" that you see when it's blacks?

  • @205seeme: ur attempt to obfuscate the racism failed.

    1. these jockey are sitting on million-dollar mounts; but that's meaningless, since they don't own them. we'll throw that 1 out.

    2. ur argument is that, since he could have been killed, then it's okay to act unprofessionally and cause a scene. go to a video of blacks in a courtroom attacking the guy that killed their loved one. u will find many racist comments there.

    ur logic doesn't work. sorry.

  • Comment removed

  • @205seeme: one of the first signs that a person has no argument is that they resort to cursing. then you present this hyperbole about blacks not owning cars.

ur initial argument was simple: whites get mad for a reason and blacks don't. u argued that the jockey could've been killed due to another's carelessness at high speeds. cutting off a guy in traffic has the exact same risks, and therefore would justify a violent reaction, based on ur own criterion. but u ignore all that.

  • Comment removed

  • @205seeme: and another thing, the next time u cut off a black in traffic and he wants to rearrange ur face, remember this: you were both driving machines at speeds in excess of 35 mph. one or both of you could have been killed.

  • @fooloof I dont cut people off in traffic,I dont drive with my blinker on...I dont swing out wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide left to make a right hand turn and I dont pull out in front of anybody when I know they are hauling ass and do you know why? I know how to drive...if anyone wants to rearrange my face for any reason whatsoever,I excersize my right to bare arms and I have a small handcannon for assholes that dont know how to control their temper.

  • @fooloof You're so damn stuck in your racial bullshit you dont even realize one guy is hispanic and the other one is a redneck cajun.

  • @205seeme: you keep complaining about me bringing up "race", but every one of your replies takes a shot at black people. first it's blacks "fight for no reason." then it's blacks are driving around in cars "they don't own." then you finish with the jab about dogfighting. looks like you can't see past your own nose.

  • @fooloof You started all this with the first post...not my fault you pulled the race card and got shoved up your ass...you asked for it.

  • @205seeme: "shoved up my ass"? that's just bravado. u argued that whites are justified for getting violent, while blacks are not.

u failed to prove that argument. when i shot it down, you countered with babble about dogfighting and unsympathetic judges, neither of which is relevant.

after all of that, you accuse me of pulling the race card when YOU CHOSE to engage me on the subject.

all u had to do was ignore my comment in the 1st place. pretty simple concept.

  • @fooloof- Well said.

  • @balancedss Clap,Clap....Fool brings out the racist bullshit in a forum where it doesnt belong and when I call her out on living in the past and not having enough class to get over it she suddenly gets a -Well Said-...Never in a million years did I ever think someone would be spewing off at the mouth about racism in a sport that could careless about racism..black this, black that,Who cares anymore?Only people that care about racism is the people that love to use it for an excuse when they FuckUp

  • @205seeme

Wow, you clearly stated here. Whining about black men, when this race really has nothing to do with it. Tell me, how do you come to "Shoved up your ass" as a logical statement? Your such a joke.

  • @queenluciaa Ok...You must not have seen fools post. Why dont people call these jockeys savages like they do black people.....I told her that this wasnt the forum for such post since this fight wasnt about RACE...but it was about a race.My other comments wer deleted so you didnt get a chance to read them.Fool started racial shit in a forum that was about a Race. She pulled the race card and I basically shoved it up her ass....Sorry for your confusion

  • @queenluciaa Her crazy ass even compared this fight between calvin and the other jockey to a courtroom brawl about someones loved one getting killed, insane.I even told her about the race Judges going to suspend them both and they wont get to make any money for however long they get suspended...two horses couldve been killed, two jockeys couldve been killed and everybody reacts a different way to their life being put into danger by someones elses carelessness and it didnt have anything to dow/race

  • Borel is white trash, of course, but that was a pretty dangerous move by Castellano. As Tairaterces pointed out, had Romp gone down, Borel's would almost certainly have been pulled down, too. Who knows what else could have happened after that.

Also, why am I not surprised that Trevor Denman, the most overrated track announcer in the history of thoroughbred racing, hadn't a clue anything happened? Amazing how every race Trevor calls happens to have all the best starts and fastest horses. Ugh

  • If Romp had gone down with Garcia, Borel would have gone down too. I don't condone the fight, but if I were Borel I would have been steaming when Javier took a swing at me. Hopefully Javier gets 10 days + a fine and Borel gets a fine.

  • Calvin Borel would have whipped that Mexican's ass. Best jockey of all time baby.

  • @raycab1 he's not mexican. And no he wouldn't have whipped anything.

  • Borel is a putz who has cut off many many a rider in his time. Go look at the youtube video of this past years Kentucky Derby. Borel intentionally guided Super Saver on a sharp left hand turn immediately out of the gate forcing multiple horses including Looking at Lucky it the Churchill rail entering the stretch for the 1st time. Now he wants to wine about a guy doing nothing differe3nt. Idiot, Cal LOL.

  • GBeret83 castelano threw the first punch. lucky boo boo didnt clean his clock

  • Castelano made a very dangerous move on his horse in the race, and should be suspended for careless riding. That said, if the jockey that Castelano almost completely unseated didn't see it as intentional, or make a big deal about it, Calvin Borel certainly shouldn't have either, IMO. Borel really showed his ass today in front of the world. The other jock got it far worse than him. Borel should be thrown out of the rest of the event, IMO. He looked like somebody on crack today. Not professional.

  • OMG.......

  • Javier on Prince has been very dangerous. This move could have killed someone.

    Great run by Elfaafer.

  • 2:29 - 2.35 in the back, the golden one on the outside gets squeezed a bit, the purple one in front tries to have it out with the yellow coming off the rail ... and as good as falls on his face GREAT SAVE !!!
