  • Very awesome. Subscribed.

  • @kocuhu

  • @largeaquaticmammal Are you left-handed by nature?

If so, I strongly recommend you to use lefty bass. It's an innate ability. I wish I were...

Even if not, I think a lefty bass is so cool. Though they are right ("there aren't many lefty basses"), It's worth trying.

  • @kocuhu I'm ambitextrous, but playing any kind of guitar left handed is much more comfortable than playing with my right. Is it worth investing in a more expensive lefty bass, or should I just try and learn how to play right handed?

  • @largeaquaticmammal If I were you I will choose lefty. It's up to you. Although you'll need extra money, probably you'll get benefit more than that.

  • I really love your tone, and you play amazingly, your ric is a really nice bass.

  • what is the diference od the sound between the 4003 and the 4001

  • @mrponchocanela I don't know exactly. I think the difference in strings is more important than model number.

  • @kocuhu I've read that 4001 can't handle roundwounds, 4003 can. The difference is in their sturdiness.

I've read also that Roger Waters 4001 was crippling because of rounds.

  • @sc7prim i have a 1978 4001 which has always had roundwounds on it, it can handle them just fine.

  • @kocuhu I went to a music store today to find out about bass guitar lessons, and I asked them if they had left-handed bass guitars. The told me I HAVE to play right-handed because there aren't many lefty basses. Does this sound right for them to make me play with my right hand?

  • @mrponchocanela 4001 isnt made to handle flatwounds because the way they were built, 4003 were able to handle flatwounds. 4001 has horseshoe pickups, not sure which type of pickups the 4003 has.

  • @animepwn3r It's the reverse. The 4001 were equipped with Maxima flatwounds from the factory...purple silk. The higher tension and usage of (primarily) Rotosound RS 66 Swing Bass roundwounds. This, coupled with folks that would re-adjust the 4001 trussrods by just tightening them as opposed to loosening the nuts and setting the neck to position by hand, (then re-tightening) could cause the fretboards to separate from the necks.

  • Enjoy your 4001c64. I got the c64s. Just check out my channel pic. I wish I had both as I bet you did too. Unfortunately we don't have Macca's money huh??? LOL!!!!

  • What pick was used?

  • @Shadic159 I prefer common fat triangle shape such as Fender 346, and heavy gauge. I hear that Paul used a home plate shaped pick made of tortoiseshell.

  • Oh, sorry, i didn't read the description

  • Flatwound?

  • floating hands:0

  • Dude, you make youtube look good!

  • so let me introduce to you!

the one and only billy shears!

  • I LOVE LOVE this... your technique and sound are both afuckingmazing.

  • ¿hablas español?

  • @TheBleach123456789 No. Sólo entiendo algún inglés.

  • @kocuhu

LOL how did you put that thing called “acento“ in spanish? Did you use the translator or what jajaj. Nice cover by the way

  • Sorry to bother you again, just one more thing. Is this the bass that he had that was white and had the red lines? Because I was wondering if you could buy them with the red lines already on them.

  • @JABILOPsfriend Because I am not good at English, please tell me. What do "he" and "red lines" mean?

"he" = Paul McCartney? Do you talk about Paul's psychedelic paint job circa Magical Mystery Tour on a Rickenbacker 4001?

  • @kocuhu Yes, sorry I'm so late, Emails not working. Yes, He = Paul McCartney, Yes, that one. Do you know about where or how I can get one?

  • @JABILOPsfriend I think Rickenbacker has never sold psychedelic one. Some musical instrument stores offer to paint them or sell them painted. For example, please search "MODIFY 4001V63 Fireglo MAGICAL".

  • @kocuhu Thanks very much!

  • The Bass Lines McCartney made with the Beatles are so incredibly underrated.

  • P.S. Subscribed

  • Hey, great job man! Can you send me the tab for this, with the rests and how long notes last? (Write it out, easier in real life) Please?

  • @JABILOPsfriend Thanks for your subscribing. As for me, I don't use tabs. Because I'm forgetful, I decided to make these videos instead of making tabs. Sorry about that.

  • Hi very beautiful.

Can i ask you how do you set the ricken volume and other parameters? Because I see that you use both pickups. To reproduce your sound I have to play with the finger. To use the plectrum i tried to reduce the volume of the bridge pickup, I increased the bass and reduced the middle and the treble. It's better but still a little metallic respct to your sound. Can you help me please?

  • @johnpleid

As you can see, I used a neck (front or bass) pick up only.

I turned the bass tone control 180 degrees and I used EQ after recording it.

Flatwound strings may make sound warm, and when you hear a bass sound within other instruments, metallic aspect is sometimes reduced, I think.
