One thing I wondered about ICO. Early in the game, I had no stick to fight the evil spirits. I found a way to sneak ahead and obtain a wooden stick, from the bottom of that big room with the chasm across the bottom. Since both ICO and Yorda were in the "outside" room most of the time, the evil spirits didn't notice I left her alone? Hard to fight them off without the stick. What did I do wrong? Any easier closer place to get a stick? Seems I missed something?

The Hospital level was so dark, that dull gray might have turned completely black on my old TV. Until I found the fuse panel and moved a fuse to another circuit, there were no lights to turn on, at the old abandoned hospital.
Fire on stick isn't only for bombs. Lighting torch things in the East, West Arenas does stuff as well.

This is the PAL version. US players don't get the lightsaber or the watermelon ending. That place does exist in the US game, though. I can't remember where it is off the top of my head, but I remember a puzzle where you had to drop a drawbridge by smashing against it using a chain.
well actually, if u read the begining of ico, the book i mean, the story is that theres a whole bunch of horned kids, so my take is that the girl in SOTC raised wander and he was the one who started the whole horned arce of people

no, it was ico's ancestor. that's why ico was believed to be cursed in the first place. becuase the ancestor of all the children with horns was Wanda, who defide the orders of emon not to go there
There's a video on youtube which shows how to get a mace...I did this, and i got that lightsabre thing. Why did this happen, and how do I get a mace? Is it a regional thing?
That Lightsaber thingy is in the PAL version only. The NTSC copies get a Mace. I'm glad I'm Canadian actually, I prefer the mace. I wish it was a katana or something, though! xD

I haven't played my SotC game yet.

not sure if I got what you said but...
in the very start of the game, after you release Yorda from that cage, the boy falls from the top of the cage and a stick falls down next to him.
just about that, the first Shadowy appears and takes Yorda and the stick is supposed to still be there.
