Dee has arthritis in her hock thus preventing any chance to seriously jump, train or show as before. xKSEventingx had hoped after time off to rest and heal, and medical treatments she'd recover fully. Then he was diagnosed with Azoturia. I was heartbroken, I thought it was the end. I tried every single medication out there, nothing worked.
I've become content with how we are now. We just take gentle trail rides, and just lots of fun groundwork games. I"ve found it that it's not "the end", (continued)

this isnt the end of the line. you have to believe that. ive been through a similar situation in the past year where i had to retire my old boy. we had practically every specialist come out and see what was wrong with him, and everyone said that for a horse his age, he is acctually in really good shape. but he still wasnt right. i think that was his way of telling me, "ive had enough. i dont want to do this anymore." i still have tons of fun with him, even though i dont ride. its not everything.

You have inspired me so much, and I'm sure many other people can agree with me. You are the kind of rider that shows us all what real work, real dedication, is like. seriously cannot explain how much you alone inspire me kate. the way you've battled with dee through everything you've been through has always given me hope in the darkest times. you should be so proud of everything you've achieved with this mare who so many would have given up on and you've always somehow seen the silver lining. her flatwork alone is some of the best i've seen and that is singly down to you. not only has she taught you to be an incredible rider but to have more determination

Don't give up hope, you'll get to the bottom of things, other people don't know what they're talking about, I even had a VET tell me recently that Harry should be put to sleep because his arthritis got so bad, but now a few weeks later he's perfectly fine again! xx

You have inspired me so much, and I'm sure many other people can agree with me. You are the kind of rider that shows us all what real work, real dedication, is like. The kind that deals with this kind of shit, takes the horses that everyone is fearful of and makes them the greatest horses on youtube, and everywhere else. I'm positive there isn't anyone else that would have put that much heart into Dee, and she'll always remember that. no matter what happens after this. Thank you, Dee says it too

awww!! I love this. Dee looks like a little superstar and I know I dont know her but its hard to believe that she bucks and rears and all with you. :/ The updates explain alot and I hope all starts to go at least a little better as a little is better than none r the opposite way :) xxx

hu ever caled dee a brken horse - r the kind of people i realy just cant stand, my horse can never be ridn or cmpted again, nw hes a big giant family pet but i wud rather it ny day rather thn losing him! we all hve dreams of achieving thngs with r horses r goals r drems, bt t cmes dwn 2 the fact were v lucky to stil have them i know many who have had freak accidents + died + wud have dne nythng 2 b n our position! so personaly despite are achivment dreams endin wer v lucky 2 stil hve r horses!xx

seriously cannot explain how much you alone inspire me kate. the way you've battled with dee through everything you've been through has always given me hope in the darkest times. you should be so proud of everything you've achieved with this mare who so many would have given up on and you've always somehow seen the silver lining. her flatwork alone is some of the best i've seen and that is singly down to you. not only has she taught you to be an incredible rider but to have more determination

faved, this is so moving, made me all teary. I really hope you can at least find the problem and get her back so you can maybe hack her or something, so sad she won't be able to event but I admire that that doesn't bother you and you'll keep trying for this mare when many would give up and go get a horse that can. Beautiful video, I can't really put into words how gutting it must be for you to have been on the brink of uncovering Dee's true potential eventing wise then losing it but one thing I can say is how inspirational you are to keep on going with her, finding the cause of the problems and treating her with full respect and dignity as it were :) really is lovely to see a partnership like that xxx

Don't give up hope, you'll get to the bottom of things, other people don't know what they're talking about, I even had a VET tell me recently that Harry should be put to sleep because his arthritis got so bad, but now a few weeks later he's perfectly fine again! xx
