Palestinians have been under occupation for 60 years now. Most of them either jailed, live under seige, or killed(see how many kids have been killed so far). Israel is defnding itself and putting a stop to further agression by hamas.

In that context Israel is not using excessive force because a countries first duty is the protection of it's citizens.

The palastinians would be far better off to get rid of Hamas. I think it is fair to call a spade a spade. Hamas wants to kill as many Israeli's as they can. They are extremists in every sense of the word. The leader of Hamas has asked for suicide bombers to attack Israeli targets. The Palestinians would be a better people if they destroyed this organization themselves. They can't do it. There is a reason why we don't put our military bases too close to our civilian populations in the west. In the middle east this doesn't seem to be the case in many respects. The military is hidden amongst the population.
