@cultgm ...Whoa! It's been so long ago but if I'm not mistaken for this system and game you had to use a super move in almost every round in every fight leading up to Bison and you definitely had to use no continues (but I think you could afford to lose up to three individual rounds).
i truly wonder how many people went "HOLY SHIT, WHO THE FUCKS THAT GUY!!!?" when they first met gouki... or akuma.... or whatever the fuck his name is
@SonicNerd91 i was one of them. lol This was during the height of my street fighter days lol. I was like who wtf is...wait!! wtf are you doing!! quit kicking my ass ahhhhh!!!! lol
akuma's power is so awesome that it made the video go insane at 2:38. akuma has destroyed me a lot of times and i only fought him twice at this game and he annihilated me. he will always pwned everyone
With all of respect to the music, if you just listen to it , Akuma will defeat you very harshly. Like what he says in the Japanese version before he fights you in the arcade mode. If you get him in VS, try to do his Shungoku-Satsu.
The music IS kick ass! Very dark, which suits the character of Akuma perfectly. I've never played the Japanese version of this game so I wouldn't know exactly what you're referring to. I do know that if you play as him in this US version he has no supers no unfortunately no Shungoku-Satsu. Thanks for the comment.
You're welcome. In the Japanese version, SSF2X:Grand Master Challenge, Akuma kills M.Bison and tells the players character the following sentence (in Japanese, of cource): "I'm the master of hte fist. Recognize your powerlessness through your own body". Then the match begins. In the PC version, I think Akuma HAS a Super Bar and super combos. Now I try to find a way to do it while playing the SF Flash games. Before I finish, I rated your video 5/5. The only less good thing about it is quallity.
Hey thanks a lot! I really appreciate that. That japanese version really sounds interesting. And I apologize for the quality. The reason the quality is sooo poor is because this footage was on a VHS tape recorded back in 1996 and I had just recently transferred it onto a DVD so we're talking over a decade of a tape just sitting and deteriorating. I know, that sucks.
No broplem, pal. The Japanese version has some differences from the american and the most visiable are the names of Vega, Balrog, Akuma and M.Bison. Here are the names in JP-AM:
Vega-M.Bison
M.Bison-Balrog
Balrog-Vega
Gouki-Akuma
The rest are the same with some changes of attacks names calls by some characters. This game is very old and I have the original disc saved from harm. I can't even hear the music, not talking about running it and play on my PC. Playing the flash games is less fun.
The BEST thing about this appearence is that the song they picked for him was AWESOME!! I never heard as much bass in any game till I fought Akuma here, and it was a complete suprise when I got to him. Also, this version of the game had the best Soundtrack, truly epic sounding.
I totally concur. The soundtrack on this game was truly awesome. The playstation 2 game 'Street Fighter The 25th anniversary collection' has an exact version of the Panasonic 3DO version. Unfortunately, the gameplay on the PS2 version (even on Medium difficulty) is so ridiculously hard and favors the computer sooooo much that it's almost impossible to make it to Akuma and ultimately listen to his awesome music again. :( Thanks for the comment. Always like to hear from Street Fighter fans.
Although you're probably right this was the first time Akuma made an appearance on a home game. Plus keep in mind that this game was played on the Panasonic R.E.A.L. 3DO, the first home system to release this game. But I hear what you're saying though because when he's playable in this game he can only throw one air fireball versus the two that the computer can throw. Thanks for the comment. Especially from a street fighter fan.
geez you suck.

If you lose this fight do you have to do all the walkthrough again to fight him one more time?
Rouenne 3 years ago
No. You can continue and still fight Akuma. That's the great thing because just to get the opportunity to fight him is ridiculously hard.

Actually that's Shin Akuma not regular Akuma. Only Akuma is a playable character but I read Shin is usable on the Dreamcast version.
