  • This is how it's done ladies and gents.

  • Very musical playing! Amazing technic! Superb fingerwork!

  • Harry I saw you play in the high achievers concert last December at the m. centre chapel in chch, I am completely blown away and amazed at your talent. I am a piano teacher - I expect and hope to see much much more of you in the future- we need a pianist of your calibre here in CHCh. Please when you go to study overseas please, please return to play here for us......you play with such joy - you are a credit to the piano and to NZ>

  • this is genius. i stubled upon this video accidentally while looking for something else, and i am absolutely in love with this song. i bought the sheet music because of how much i loved this video and im trying to learn it, but i have a feeling i will never be able to play it as good as you. this video is very inspiring. this song is an incredible work of art, and to be played so well by someone your age is amazing. you are extremely talented. keep is up and thank you for sharing!

  • Hey, that's great!

Btw, some of you guys giving advice, it's nice, but this video is three years old, so I'm sure he's well beyond this now!

  • you play this well for a youngster :)

  • this needs more emotion and rubato!!! and in the beginning the right hand chords need to be way quieter - almost whispery. i love this piece. you're getting there.

  • GREAT! cannot wait what else you can do when you are all grown up.

  • agreed, he has so much potential in the future. he's very amazing already!

  • wonderfully played! congratulations!

  • Simply beautiful...really, really amazing :)

  • high Ab. Where the octave passage goes to 16th notes and then to 16th triplets, and then to something like 32nd or 64ths, it works better to start that passage out a little slower, and you achieve a more effective accelerado. If you can relax your wrists, you will be flying by the time you get to the end of that octave passage. It will also be more effective because it will go from the speed of light to stopped mid-air. Make sure you take your time on that rolled chord. You've done a nice job!

  • shut the fuck up, he's just a kid idiot........

  • Nooo.... No one who plays that well at that age is "just a kid." I would think, seeing how hard he has worked, that he would not want to be written of as "just a kid," either. However, based on your response, I would assume you are not a musician, being as you do not understand the manner in which musicians share their thoughts and suggestions, so as to constantly attain a higher level of excellence.

  • i'm a musician but i don't like breaking the balls of my sons trying to teach music to them, if they really like music in some moment of their lifes they will call me for help, pressing them it's really really pathethic because all the people have different dreams and interests.....

  • why the sepia tone?

  • a marvellous preformance

  • some of you all really sound stupid. have you forgot how old this kid is? he plays better than a lot of music teachers!!!!!!!

  • OMG, this is great. Does anyone have sheet for this song? I've looking it for a while now with no success... :(

  • shut up ahappycat he played really well and movements were really expressive, and if he wants lifting his arms y think she sould do it!

  • that was amazing

  • ever see glenn gould perform??

  • hard out harry... my god... dat was lyk relli....

  • ...wow

  • relax at the fast part to the ending.

you seem to use a lot of energy.

  • what's wrong with using a lot of energy?

  • Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. There's too much "violent" motion. I realize you're pretty young, so those octaves will get easier when your hands are bigger, but try to relax your wrists more - starting at the oscillating octaves - and think of those passages as one flowing idea, instead of just octaves exchanged between hands. Whiteside technique that might help you with this as well. Also, the chord at the top of that passage (2:13) is easier if you then cross the left over to get the

  • play it slower at the first part.

  • Amazing!! And with such great emotion too, keep playing :)

  • I loved this. There are enough super-talented kids who just pound out a ton of notes without any passion, but you ... you ...

  • you're so cute.

oh and the playing was pretty impressive too.

  • colorful expressions, i think it's because of good using of pedals.

  • Great. Not being a pianist I can just sit back and enjoy the wonderful sound and your enjoyment of the playing. I loved it.

  • nice job. :]] when i cross hands at 1:12 i find it easier to use the R.H. over the left but...

  • the middle part's too fast, but pretty good overall

  • melody. The technical passages were generally fine - Again watch that the sound always has character and dosent become just noise which is hard for the listener to understand...It takes time to acquire this - keep working - you will achieve it!

  • You are obviously very fond of this beautiful piece.. Can I suggest you pay more attention to the balance of the hands particularly that the oscilating Doubled notes are made more transparent so we can hear the beautiful medlody. Always follow the melody to its conclusion - a couple of times you had little tiny holes where a note didnt sound enough to be convinvingly the

  • Yah, I could never have that much passion for the piano, lest any musical instrument. I love hearing it though.

  • 8D

Wow! I'm impressed you're really good!

  • wow i love your passion. you can tell that the emotion you feel while playing is expressed in your piece. Well done and i hope you use that talented to your advantage as you progress

  • I'm depressed. I play this same piece (and that Shostakovich one) and I'm 23 yr old... (well i've played the piano only for 8 years now and I mainly play the violin but anyway. U're a kid u should play much much easier pieces...

No, honestly U play well. I'm impressed, not depressed. ;)

  • hmmm I havent ever played piano but I'm listening music 24/7 and u play really well... but put more emotion in that play then u will be almost perfect :D I know this like my own pockets btw:D

  • Great work, man. Once again, your emotion is great.

    You're disturbingly like Gould.

  • you have a ...wonderful touch.awesome tone. keep it up!

  • When did you start playing piano? How long did it take for you to learn this piece?

  • you are very talented harry. dont give it up like i did.

  • I just realized-you're a Kiwi! Christchurch, eh? I'm in Waikanae, near Wellington.

  • wow

  • Sibelius is Finnish (from finland). Is that the kind of answer you wanted?

  • does anybody knows where sibelius come from :P

  • Absolutely great performance. Wonderful!

  • marvelous...Thanks for sharing!

  • Dear Mr/Ms Franciss

Thank you for your kind comments. I am an 11 year old student of Mr N. Baird. I live in Christchurch, New Zealand. like your students I owe much of any skills I have gained to his patience. I also play the violin reasonably well but I would like to specialise in piano if I am able. I have not done a lot of competitions yet but I am traveling to Sydney in August to compete in the Sydney Performing Arts Challenge.

    Harry Ellerm
