This is the worst version of this song I've ever seen. There is no respect for the culture that it came from, or the tradition it holds to the sailors who still go to sea.
Sorry you didn't like it. I actually uphold a lot of the traditional sea bering rules.. And as I designed this act my outer most thoughts were to keep the true tradition of the herritage with some few modernizations. This song is over 500 years ago. And there are many different version of this song from all over the world. So taking some modern liberties did not seem out of place. I abide by the rules from the book Shanties from the seven seas by Stan Hugill it is my bible.
